It means that when you make any changes to a string, you&#8217;ll always get a new string. But double backslashes make the string difficult to read. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To fix this, you can turn a literal string into a verbatim string by prefixing the <code>@<\/code> symbol. The verbatim string disables escape characters so that a backslash is a backslash. This feature is called string interpolation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">UTF-8 strings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The web uses UTF-8 as the character encoding. Each character takes 1 to 4 bytes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But in .NET, the string type uses UTF-16 by default.
