  • Flyers' Erik Johnson: Press box regular again

Johnson was scratched for the fifth game in a row in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Flames.

Johnson is clearly the seventh defenseman on the Flyers' roster and has spent large portions of the season as a healthy scratch. Pending any trades affecting the blue line, Johnson is poised to spend most of the rest of the campaign as a scratch as well. He has just three points with 14 shots on net, 40 hits, 14 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating through 22 appearances.

  • Flyers' Sean Couturier: Buries goal in Tuesday's loss

Couturier scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Flames.

Couturier's offense has been spotty for much of the campaign, but he has five points and a plus-6 rating over his last five outings. The 32-year-old saw 36 seconds of power-play time Tuesday, his most in a game since Dec. 28 versus the Ducks. Couturier is now at 10 goals, 30 points, 106 shots on net, 39 hits, 34 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 59 appearances. He scores enough to be on the radar in fantasy, but his relatively modest production as a center makes him useful primarily in deeper formats.

  • Flyers' Noah Cates: Scores in Tuesday's loss

Cates scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Flames.

Cates extended his point streak to four games, a span in which he has earned four goals and two assists. The 26-year-old continues to see top-six usage and has rebounded well from a month-long drought that directly preceded this surge. For the season, he's at a career-high 14 goals while adding 14 assists, 84 shots on net, 59 hits, 38 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 58 appearances.

  • Flyers' Andrei Kuzmenko: Two points in loss to Calgary

Kuzmenko produced a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Flames.

The 29-year-old winger did his best to put together a revenge game against the team that shipped him east in late January, scoring a goal in the first period before helping to set up Sean Couturier in the third, but his teammates didn't cooperate. Kuzmenko has looked good in his new jersey, picking up two goals and five points in his first six contests for Philadelphia while seeing a regular shift on the first power-play unit.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Stuck with loss in relief

Fedotov turned aside 25 of 27 shots and took the loss after replacing Samuel Ersson midway through the first period Tuesday as the Flyers fell 6-3 to the Flames.

Ersson got beaten three times on only five shots, but Fedotov's better play in the crease went unrewarded, as the first goal he allowed proved to be the game-winner for Calgary. This might be the performance that gives Fedotov a chance to push his way into a timeshare or even take the starting job from Ersson, however. Over six appearances dating back to Jan. 24, Fedotov has a solid 2.67 GAA and .900 save percentage, but just a 1-4-0 record.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Gets early hook against Calgary

Ersson gave up three goals on five shots before being replaced by Ivan Fedotov midway through the first period of Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Flames.

While Ersson had little chance on the first tally, the netminder got a clean look at Nazem Kadri's shot from faceoff circle and then let Connor Zary sneak a puck past him from a sharp angle, prompting head coach John Tortorella to give him the hook. However, Ersson avoided the loss, as the first goal Fedotov gave up proved to be the game-winner for Calgary. It's the fourth time in his last six outings that Ersson has allowed at least three goals, a stretch in which he's gone 3-0-2 despite a mediocre 3.23 GAA and .884 save percentage.

  • Flyers' Garnet Hathaway: Still sidelined against Flames

Hathaway (upper body) will not be available for Tuesday's tilt versus Calgary, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Hathaway has managed just one point in his last nine games while dishing out 34 hits. With just two more points, the 33-year-old Florida native could reach the 20-point threshold after missing that mark last year. Once cleared to play, Hathaway should see minutes in a bottom-six role.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Gets starting nod Tuesday

Ersson will be between the pipes at home versus Calgary on Tuesday, Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports reports.

Ersson is undefeated in regulation over his last five outings, going 3-0-2 with a 2.75 GAA and a .905 save percentage -- though that does include his most recent outing in which he gave up five goals on just 25 shots in an overtime loss. At this point, it seems the Flyers will continue to primarily utilize Ersson in the blue paint, with Ivan Fedotov and Aleksei Kolosov limited to back-to-backs.

  • Flyers' Jamie Drysdale: Scores equalizer Saturday

Drysdale scored a goal and added two PIM in Saturday's 2-1 shootout win over the Jets.

Drysdale has earned three points and a plus-3 rating over his last six games. The 22-year-old defenseman converted on an assist from Noah Cates at 3:48 of the second period Saturday, tying the game at 1-1. Drysdale is up to three goals, 14 points, 42 shots on net, 68 blocked shots and a minus-18 rating across 49 appearances. He was limited to a total of 10 points over 42 contests over the last two years combined, so this is a little progress. Drysdale is not at risk of losing his place in the lineup currently, but he doesn't need to be rostered in most fantasy formats.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Outduels Hellebuyck on Saturday

Fedotov stopped 29 shots in regulation and overtime and all three shootout attempts he faced in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Jets.

Matched up against reigning Vezina Trophy winner, and favorite to repeat, Connor Hellebuyck, Fedotov came through with arguably the best performance of his brief NHL career. It was the first win for the 28-year-old netminder since Nov. 29, and over eight outings since the beginning of January, Fedotov has a 2.66 GAA and .891 save percentage.

  • Flyers' Ivan Fedotov: Expected to start Saturday

Fedotov is set to start on the road against Winnipeg on Saturday.

Fedotov has a 4-8-3 record, 3.27 GAA and .877 save percentage in 17 appearances in 2024-25. He hasn't appeared in a game for the Flyers since Feb. 6, when he allowed four goals on 18 shots against Washington. The Jets rank third in goals per game with 3.53.

  • Flyers' Garnet Hathaway: Unavailable Saturday

Hathaway (upper body) won't play Saturday against Winnipeg.

Hathaway will miss at least one game after being injured in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to Pittsburgh. He has produced eight goals, 18 points, 76 shots on net, 56 blocked shots and 218 hits in 60 appearances this season. Nicolas Deslauriers will replace Hathaway in Saturday's lineup.

  • Flyers' Nick Seeler: Ends drought with helper

Seeler notched an assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins.

Seeler's point drought reached 14 games Tuesday, and he was able to put it to rest by setting up an Owen Tippett tally Thursday. The 31-year-old Seeler remains a bottom-four regular on the Flyers' blue line. For the season, he has matched his career high with 14 points in just 55 outings, and he's added 58 shots on net, 69 hits, 137 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating. He can be a one-category specialist in fantasy formats that count blocks, but most managers can likely find better offense from waiver-wire blueliners.

  • Flyers' Noah Cates: Pots another goal Thursday

Cates scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins.

Cates has three goals and an assist over his last two games, both against the Penguins. Prior to that, he had gone 11 contests without a point. The Flyers' offense can be streaky, which doesn't help Cates' cause for scoring, but the 26-year-old has generally impressed to make himself a regular in the lineup this season. He's at 13 goals, 13 assists, 78 shots on net, 58 hits, 36 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating through 56 appearances, showcasing a stronger two-way game than in years prior.

  • Flyers' Travis Sanheim: Scoreless streak extends

Sanheim did not register a point and was held to one shot on goal in 22:51 of ice time in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins.

Sanheim is the No. 1 defenseman on the Flyers, but it's been a tough go recently. The 28-year-old has just three points over his last 14 games and none since returning from the 4 Nations Face-Off. Perhaps most concerning is the return of Rasmus Ristolainen (upper body) and the skill set of Jamie Drysdale being better suited for the power play, who combined have left no room for Sanheim on the Flyers' power play, limiting his chances for future offensive contributions.

  • Flyers' Samuel Ersson: Gives up five goals in OT loss

Ersson stopped 20 of 25 shots in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Penguins.

Ersson was on a three-game winning streak heading into Thursday's matchup, but his hot stretch came to an end against Pittsburgh. His .800 save percentage was his lowest since a 5-0 loss to the Devils on Jan. 29. Despite the OT loss in this one, Ersson went 3-1-2 with a 2.66 GAA and a .908 save percentage across six starts in February.
