Foster The People are known for their famous indie jams like “Pumped Up Kicks,” but when they’re behind the decks all bets are off. At a recent afterparty for their Paradise State of Mind Tour, Mark Foster and Isom Innis were filmed dropping gruesome dubstep in front of a club crowd. The track was Taiki Nulight’s 2024 remix of Hamdi’s smash hit, “Counting.”

“We started doing after parties on this tour and now we want to keep them going,” read subtitles in the Instagram post. “Where should we go next?”

The caption also says: “taking after party requests below.”

As of now, for the rest of 2025, Foster the People’s remaining tour dates are global, taking them to festivals such as Madrid’s Mad Cool, Tennessee’s Bonnaroo, and Lisbon’s NOS Alive. As such, fans around the world could see them express this new form of artistry.

In the comments other artists shared their excitement to see the indie stalwarts veering into the 140 realm.

Loud Luxury wrote: “we got foster the people playing dubstep before GTA 6.”

Distinct Motive chimed in with the simple: “dubstep!!”
