Heyhey, it's time for some Dark Souls. This time it's just one figure, but it's a special one - the Gaping Dragon, from the Dark Souls boardgame expansion of the same name.

Showcase: Deep Madness Board Game Figures

 

Heyhey, here's a bunch of boardgame figures again. Investigators and some remaining baddies from the board game Deep Madness. I painted the rest of the set (a LOT of figures, including some disgusting and large boss monsters) last year and against all habits, I didn't take photos then! 

So I can only show you this picture of the remaining figures. All 28mm sized, baddies being larger. Hope you like them!

Showcase: Characters Expansion

Heyhey, it's Dark Souls time again. This time it's a load of characters. 

Showcase: Old Iron King

 

Here's the Old Iron King! Yes, it's another Dark Souls boss.

Big dude, big base, waist-deep in lava. Hero figures for scale. :)

Showcase: Black Dragon Kalameet

 

Black Dragon Kalameet! One of the Mega-Bosses of the Dark Souls board game.

As with so many Dark Souls bosses, a bit hard to pin down visually. Takes some research and interpretation, but I think I got it.

As usual with those bosses, I try to get the base (which is huge, by the way. All the more space to play around) 'right' and get the idea of the boss arena across.

A good dragon figure, that. It's funny that a game which tends to have pretty outlandish boss fight designs has a very keen sense for getting dragons right. Which is a thing I appreciate. Hope you like him! 

Showcase: Explorers Expansion

 

Yes, another Dark Souls board game expansion! Above you can see a little comic strip I made, because this one contains the Mimic, and Mimics are endless sources of joy.

Showcase: Ironkeep Expansion

 

Here's another Dark Souls board game expansion - Ironkeep. It sports a whole bunch of knights - heavily armoured as well as (annoyingly) nimble, ...

...a big old Smelter Demon for a boss and fanciful swordman Sir Alonne as a mini-boss. 

Nothing all too exciting on the painting front; Painting knights is always fun. With Sir Alonne it was kinda hard to decypher how his garments work, as with so many humanoid bosses in Dark Souls. Hope you like them!

Showcase: Asylum Demon

 

Look at him! It's the Asylum Demon and he feels a-okay. 

Famously the first boss in Dark Souls and usually he shows new players what's what.

This one's from the Asylum Demon expansion for the Dark Souls board game and a fine depiction of the fine fella in 3d miniature form. Hope you like him! (and how couldn't you)

Look at them! Just look. There is no reason not to love Super Dungeon Explore figures. :D Tricky to paint, but it's very much worth putting the hours in. Proper big too. Those are 25mm bases.

Showcase: Nova Aetas Expansion

 

Heyhey, some boardgames figures again. Remember the Nova Aetas set I painted a few years ago? Well, here's a bunch of figures from an expansion for that! Loads of cultists, some characters and four big, big cyclops...i? Cyclopses?

They're all single-pose so I made some effort to make them look a bit different to one another. If we got such big individuals you gotta make them look a bit different somehow.

Showcase: Super Dungeon Explore Pt.32

 

Back to Super Dungeon Explore! Here's a bunch of Mistmourne Trolls, Nocturne (the Shapeshifter), and a Death Spectre. All from the Van Drakk Expansion Box 2.0, all lovely, all pretty darned big. The trolls are standing on 55mm (or so) bases, the bosses on ever bigger ones.
