A newly constructed water purification system, established with the coordination and technical assistance of the troops of the Army, to address the longstanding drinking water requirements of the people in Tirappane area, was vested to the public on 09 August 2026.

The Directorate of Veterans’ Affairs & Rehabilitation, in collaboration with the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), conducted the 10th phase of its islandwide welfare camp series for disabled retired personnel under the guidance of the Commander of the Army at the Headquarters of the 12 Infantry Division, Hambantota, on 07 August 2026. The initiative focused on addressing the healthcare needs of Army veterans residing in the Hambantota District.

In line with the National Action Plan to Eliminate Bribery and Corruption from Sri Lanka, the Presidential Secretariat and the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), in collaboration with the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU) of the Sri Lanka Army, conducted a one-day Anti-Corruption Training of Trainers (ToT) Programme at the Army Headquarters Auditorium, Colombo, on 06 August 2026.
