ABOUT

Founded in 2012, ARCHIVO is an independent non-profit research platform dedicated to photography, archives, and visual culture. Bringing together researchers, artists, curators, and cultural practitioners, it develops interdisciplinary initiatives that connect research, artistic practice, publishing, education, and public engagement.

Through conferences, research programmes, educational initiatives, and publications, ARCHIVO examines the role of photography and archival practices in shaping historical knowledge, cultural memory, and contemporary visual culture. Conceived as a space for critical inquiry and collaborative exchange, the platform supports projects that investigate the aesthetic, historical, political, and epistemological dimensions of images and archives, while fostering new approaches to research and knowledge production.
