Once you hit level 10, you will begin to gain Power Pips randomly throughout a battle. With every level-up past 10 you will then have a higher chance to get a Power Pip more often.
They are a different colour then a regular Pip. (Game is not in front of me now so I cannot specify the colour for you... You can Google it though).
In case you don't understand what a Power Pip is, they give only your "primary" school the advantage of acting as 2 Pips instead of just one. It will not work for secondary or not-your-school.
