NEW Dance Ensemble for Teens & Adults (Ages 13 & Up)

Saturdays from 4:05-5:35pm

This class is for our veteran AIM dancers who want extra time to dance and explore creating their own choreography. Each week, we'll settle in with adaptive warm-ups that gently encourage exploration through guided improvisations and body mirroring activities. It is not about hitting perfect marks, but rather about discovering how our bodies want to move and communicate.

With our extended time together, we can truly slow down and dive deep into using choreography for self-expression. We will work side-by-side to build original choreography, figuring out how to turn our everyday feelings and our personal stories into shared movement. We hope to perform these dances at the end of the session to celebrate our bodies and the art we create.

Eligibility: Anyone who has previously taken an Adaptive Dance/Movement class at AIM is welcome to join us!

Come help us create a life-size tree for AIM’s new space! We’ll create a collaged tree that will be put up on the wall at AIM. Once it’s up, it will change with the seasons! Members can contribute in a variety of ways - from working hands-on with art supplies, to making artistic decisions about colors and textures, to sharing ideas and collaborating with the group. This project offers a fun, flexible way to express creativity, build community, and leave a lasting mark on our space.

Walk in the footsteps of the master artists with us—Picasso, Monet, Georgia O’Keefe, and Andy Warhol! Each week, we’ll learn about an artist’s life and work. We’ll then use that artist’s work as inspiration to create our own pieces to take home. Members can create art on their own, or co-create with their volunteer buddy - either by working hands-on with art supplies, making artistic decisions, or sharing ideas and conversation. These projects are adaptable for any skill and ability level - all are welcome!
