For demonstrating the IEC 61850 information exchanges required for realizing the PSMS-ES, the ICD (IED capability description) files for all the components of microgrid have been developed using the InfoTech 61850 ICD editor tool [29]. The ICD file contains the se- mantics (i.e. IEC 61850 information model) of the particular IED. ICD files are required for emulating the communication capability of an IED. The CNLO logical node for controllable load proposed in [22] is used to develop information model in the form of ICD file. The instance of the ICD file developed for controllable load is shown in Fig. 5. Similarly, the information models for diesel plant, battery system, PV plant and breakers and their corresponding ICD files have been developed in this Fig. 6.
