Combining ability for grain yield and its contributing characters was carried out in maize through line × tester analysis of 60 hybrids developed by crossing 15 females and four testers along with parents and checks. The 60 hybrids along with 19 parents and three standard checks were grown in Randomized Completely Block Design with two replications and were evaluated for grain yield and its 12 contributing characters. The experiments were conducted at Zonal Agricultural Research Station, V.C. Farm, Mandya, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka state during rabi 2010.The analysis of variance indicated the presence of significant variability among the genotypes for almost all the quantitative traits studied. Combing ability analysis showed the predominant role of non-additive gene action for inheritance of all the characters studied. The lines MAI31, MAI28, and MAI35 were best general combiners exhibiting high gca effects in a desirable direction for three traits each. The tester CM500 was identified as a best combiner for grain yield per plot and some other traits studied. The hybrids MAI45×CM202, MAI33×CM202 and MAI43×CM500 were promising with respect to sca effects for grain yield as they showed high sca for that trait. These best crosses involved high × low and low × low performing parental combinations. Further, the promising single cross hybrids having a parental combination of high × high, high × low gca effects could be used for the improvement of parental lines for desired characters by selecting in advanced generations. With the use of innovative cutting-edge technology in the library, the website is considered a new way of disseminating the information for promoting services to grasp the readers in each corner of the world. This study assessed the content of Veterinary University Library Websites in India. Sixty-five parameters/criteria of a checklist method are set and used for data collection for analysing the library website and webpage content. The finding result revealed that Rajasthan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Bikaner was secured on the top with 3,39,564 Alexa Traffic Global Rank along with the first position with 42,798 Alexa Indian Rank also. The majority 6 (75%) of Veterinary University Library Websites/Webpages are user-friendly to visit the site. Further, it was revealed that Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati 45 (69.23%) scores the highest number followed by Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bidar 37 (56.92%) among the Veterinary University Websites/Webpages are taken for the study. Sri PV Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University, Hyderabad got the third rank with 24 (36.92%) scores.

The article investigates the problem of psychological competence of teachers, giving classes in agricultural universities.
Psychological competence is essential for teacher to adjust interaction with students, their parents, colleagues; reasonably perceive oneself as a teacher and the educational situation; develop the educational and occupational
motivation in students; implement into teaching the modern educational processes, methods, forma and educational aids. Furthermore, the psychological competence will assist to the teacher in his own psychological comfort acquisition. Greater part of agricultural university teachers have no professional pedagogical training, therefore they suffer difficulties in psychological component of their occupational activities. To fill this gap are called courses of advanced training for higher school teachers, targeted to psychological competence formation, and self-education.
The important factor of psychological competence formation in higher school teachers is the inclusion in educational plans for training the post-graduates of agricultural and technical orientation, the training courses of psychological and pedagogical character.
