Untuk melihat prospek implementasi kogenerasi mesin gas pada sebuah bandara udara di Indonesia, bandara udara Kualanamu dengan kondisi akhir 2014 dijadikan obyek kasus. Pada kondisi tersebut bandara udara konsumsi 2500 kWe (maksimum, tidak termasuk daya listrik sistem HVAC), dan beban maksimum 5000 TR untuk ruang yang dikondisikan seluas 122.000 m2. Studi meliputi kehandalan sistem, efisiensi pemanfaatan bahan bakar dan life cycle cost (LCC). Sistem kogenerasi dengan penggerak mula mesin gas dapat mencapai efisiensi 84,5%. Pembangkit daya sistem n+1 dipilih untuk operasinya. Dalam sistem ini tidak dibutuhkan baskup genset sehingga biaya investasi dan biaya operasi pemeliharaannya. Bila satu sistem mesin gas generator mengalami kerusakan, pemadaman listrik tidak terjadi sesaatpun selama ada pasokan gas. Disamping parameter operasi, pemeliharaan dan investasi, harga listrik dan bahan bakar gas alam sangat mempengaruhi hasil kajian ini. Dengan harga listrik Rp1400,00/kWh dan gas alam Rp91.000,00/MMBtu, hasil kajian menunjukkan LCC tahunan sistem kogenerasi mesin gas sebesar Rp63,32 Milyar dan jauh lebih kecil dibanding sistem yang mencatu daya listrik ke perusahaan listrik sentral dengan LCC sebesar Rp81,13 Milyar. Dari profil komponen LCC, LCC kogenerasi mesin gas sangat dipengaruhi oleh harga gas alam, sedangkan LCC sistem konvensional sangat dipengaruhi oleh harga listrik. Oleh karena itu, harga listrik dan gas alam yang mendukung kebijaksanaan konservasi energi dengan penerapan insentif dan disentif yang tepat sangat diperlukan untuk pertumbuhan sistem kogenerasi yang hemat energi bahan bakar.

Salah satu jenis penggerak yang dipakai di industri adalah mesin kalor, yaitu suatu mesin yang menggunakan energi panas untuk melakukan kerja mekanik atau suatu mesin di mana energi panas dapat dirubah menjadi energi mekanik. Energi itu sendiri dapat diperoleh akibat pembakaran bahan bakar, fisi bahan bakar nuklir atau proses yang lain. Dilihat dari cara memperoleh panas, maka mesin kalor dapat dibagi atas dua bagian , yaitu : a. Mesin pembakaran dalam (Internal combustion engine). Ini berarti bahwa panas diperoleh dari proses pembakaran di dalam mesin itu sendiri. Contoh : motor bensin, motor diesel, motor gas dan turbin gas. b. Mesin pembakaran luar (External combustion engine). Ini berarti bahwa panas diperoleh dari proses pembakaran di luar mesin sendiri. Contoh : mesin uap dan turbin uap.

A bentonite has been using as a binder to iron ore pelletization from very beginning. It gives excellent binding property to green and dry pellet properties. However several drawbacks of bentonite have been observed such as an impurity due to its acid oxide contents. In order to replace the bentonite, we thought to be use the organic material as a binder. An organic binder only gives sufficient green pellet property although it failed to give strength at high temperature. In addition to binder problem, Induration of hematite pellet would require very high temperature and longer firing time than magnetite. It has been thought that induration temperature and firing time can be lowered if enhancing the recrystallization, diffusion process or incorporating same low melting slag. We used industries waste slag along with an organic binder as an additive to overcome the above problem. It has been observed that only 0.5 wt% of an organic binder can provide very good green properties. From the properties of indurated pellet, it has been found that organic bonded pellet shows very high RDI (27%). Thus, use of only organic binder would not be acceptable. The varying amount of industries waste slag has been added with 0.5% of organic binder and found to improve CCS to a great extent. The developed pellet shows around 300 kg/pellet strength at induration temperature of only 1250°C. However, the pellet of similar basicity with 0.5wt% bentonite shows 300 kg/ pellet CCS at induration temperature of 1300°C; i.e. the induration temperature requirement for the developed pellet is 50 °C lower than the usual bentonite bonded pellet. The phase identification of both developed pellets and bentonite bonded pellet through XRD shows mainly Fe2O3, CaAl2Si2O8 phases which are in agreement with the estimation through thermodynamics software FactSage.

El conocimiento del comportamiento termodinámico de mezclas es muy importante en el diseño, simulación y operación de procesos de separación. En este trabajo, se emplean Modelos Híbridos de Ecuaciones de Estado Cúbicas y Redes Neuronales Artificiales para el cálculo de densidades de mezclas de n-alcanos. Los Modelos Híbridos son desarrollados a través de la solución de un problema de optimización multivariado para la estimación de sus parámetros a partir de un conjunto de datos de entrada a la red. Para uno de los Modelos Híbridos basado en la ecuación de estado de van der Waals se considera la incorporación de restricciones de no negatividad, el otro modelo que se presenta basado en la ecuación de estado de Soave-Redlich-Kwong no considera ningún tipo de restricción. Por último, se adicionaron reglas de mezclado a los Modelos Híbridos para estimar las densidades de 2 mezclas binarias y una ternaria. Los resultados obtenidos muestran la capacidad de generalización y de extensión de este tipo de modelos en la predicción de propiedades termodinámicas de mezclas.

Historically expansion turbines used for binary cycles were axial type turbines adapted from steam turbine design. They expand high-molecular-weight working fluid like isopentane which condenses at atmospheric pressure. Thus pressure ratio is limited across the turbine if a single stage design is considered.

Siklus Reheat Regenerative.
Untuk mendapatkan efisiensi termal optinal, yang menguntungkan baik dari segi termodinamika dan segi finansial, berbagai parameter yang  sangat perlu dikaji
terkait adalah kondisi optimal termodinamika, penghematan bahan bakar akibat dari kenaikan efisiensi yang diperoleh, penanbahan biaya investasi, operasi dan
perawatan.
