The Fulani, also known as Fulbe or Peul, are a nomadic ethnic group primarily found in West Africa, characterized by their pastoralist lifestyle, distinct language (Fula), and rich cultural traditions. They are known for their cattle herding practices and have historically played significant roles in trade, politics, and the spread of Islam across the region.
