Most contemporary text books of neurology and of psychology pay little attention to the function of the cerebellum beyond noting it to be an organ of motor control. A historical overview of research on cerebellar function is presented, from pre-Sherrinton suggestions of sensory and motor function, through the post-Sherrinton and dominant 20 th . Century view of "motor" function, to the 21 st . century perspective of "sensorimotor" function. The intrinsic capability of the cerebellum is briefly considered in terms of: its size/complexity/capacity; its information representation/processing characteristics (with "a particular computational function"); its sensory information processing capability; and, its role in sensorimotor regulatory control. It is suggested that the cerebellum can process sensorimotor stimulus information in a statistical (connectionist type) manner and respond to in on the basis of its own learning based sensorimotor representations, albeit at a "level" that does not necessarily involve cerebral "awareness".

Background: Spiritual intelligence as a basis of individual beliefs plays a fundamental role in various areas of human life, especially mental health promotion. Objective: This study investigated the relationship between spiritual intelligence and perceived stress among critical care nurses. Methods: This descriptive-analytical study was carried out on 115 nurses who were selected by nonrandom sampling method in a correlation manner. Data were gathered by using three questionnaires: demographic information, king's spiritual intelligence and Cohen's perceived stress questionnaire and analyzed by linear regression and correlation coefficient analysis. Findings: In this study 13 men and 102 women participated. The mean score of perceived stress (25.7±5.96) and spiritual intelligence score (50.28±14.35) were moderate. There was a reverse and significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and its subscales with perceived stress (r=-0.243 and P= 0.009). The study showed that spiritual intelligence and education level can be considered as predictive variables for perceived stress (P<0.001). Conclusion: Considering the significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and perceived stress and the predictive role of spiritual intelligence, one of the effective strategies in reducing stress can be shifting the attention of nurses towards spiritual intelligence and attempt to promote it.

The purpose of this non-experimental, correlational quantitative research study was to examine the relationship between student achievement and spiritual intelligence while controlling for age and gender in two public and two private schools in a southeastern city. The variable of interest and criterion variable of achievement was measured by the American College Test (ACT). The variable of spiritual intelligence was measured using a 24 question self-report assessment entitled The Spiritual Intelligence Self‐Report Inventory (SISRI-24) by D. King (2008). The SISRI-24 included four subscales–critical existential thinking (CET), personal meaning production (PMP), transcendental awareness (TA), and conscious state expansion (CSE) that were analyzed as predictor variables. This paper fundamentally seeks to explore the role and relationship of scientific ways of knowing and their accompanying research methods for the field of spirituality in the hopes of gaining greater insights into the nature of the interrelationship between science and religion. In pursuit of such aims, one can ask questions of the following: What are some of the diverse ways of knowing? What are scientific ways of knowing and how do they fit into this broader epistemological landscape? Can there really be a “science” of spirituality? If so, what are its potential contributions? What are the implications for current science and religion dialogues? It is such questions that this essay will be seeking answers to as it engages with literature from some of these various areas. By the end of these explorations, not only will I assert that there can and should be a science of spirituality, but that such endeavors have significant implications for the science and religion dialogue.

Current study was planned to investigate the moderating role of spiritual intelligence on the relationship between emotional intelligence and identity development in adolescent students. Purposive convenient sampling technique employed based on cross-sectional design. Participants were included from different colleges, and schools of twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan. Sample comprised of 200 students (Male n= 100, Female n= 100) with age ranged from 12 to 18 years (M=16.53, SD=1.69). The subjects in this research were 304 student of Islamic State University in Malang, using proportional random sampling technique, with the result that representative and balance each faculty. The instrument used in this research are IQ test and psychologis scale. Psychologis scale are spiritual intelligence scale, emotional intelligence scale, and agresivity scale. The data were analyzed using analysis of regression with SPSS version 10.0 for windows. The research result show: Three kinds of intelligence toward the agresivity are 32,5%, with spiritual intelligence (-548), emotional intelligence (-355), and IQ (-116). A good idea to help agresivity problem with developing many kinds of intelligence, specially spiritual intelligence and emotional intelligence.

Abstract:
As a natural, adaptive and transformative process, dreams are intimately related to the unfolding of the self. This paper discusses how specific dream-related skills-- metaphorical and imagistic thinking; appreciation of dream nuances; understanding of the body-mind boundaries; intentional dreaming; guidance, and empathy -- are connected to the notion of emotional and spiritual intelligence. The author postulates that, over time, the sustained practice of dreamwork leads to the development these skills and helps adult dreamers find creative ways to relate to them intelligibly.

The spirit world shapes the physical world. Spirit beings exercise rule over all things physical. The physical world is premeditated and dictated from the spiritual world by spirit beings and spiritual power.

This study aims to investigate the relationship between spiritual intelligence and job satisfaction of the employees of selected offices of education in Isfahan. It is a practical research study. Methodologically, it is a correlation study. The population consisted of all the employees of selected offices of education in Isfahan in the year 2015. Using Morgan table, 86 participants were chosen as the sample. In order to collect the data, King's questionnaire of spiritual intelligence and Dant questionnaire of job satisfaction were used. Alpha-Cronbach's method of investigating reliability showed the total reliability of the spiritual intelligence questionnaire as 0.90, and 0.88 for the job satisfaction questionnaire. Using correlation and multivariate correlation, the data were analyzed. In analyzing the research hypotheses it was found that the spiritual intelligence variables (such as critical existential thinking, personal meaning production, transcendental awareness, and conscious state awareness) had a positive and significant relationship with the motivational variables of job satisfaction. Also, all the 4 variables of spiritual intelligence, and all the 3 variables of job satisfaction have a positive and significant relationship with each other.

Reading is the main means of exposure for English as a second or foreign language learner. The present study aimed at finding out the reading comprehension ability (RCA) of the master level students, majoring in English at Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal in relation to IELTS academic reading test. Administering a sample testand analyzing its data, it was found that the RCA of the master level students is not adequate in terms of IELTS standard since their RCA is 41% and the IELTS score is 3.70 band. This shows that they are at 'Extremely Limited User' level for the admission policies in IELTS recognised countries and not eligible to get the admission in the IELTS recognised Universities. The implication of the study is that there is a need for reading skills development programme incorporating the enhancement of inferential, predictive and interpretive skills.

The study is designed to examine the relationship among spiritual intelligence, organizational commitment and job satisfaction of employees in banking sector. Further, the study also intends to analyze the impact of spiritual intelligence on organizational commitment and job satisfaction of the employees. The study employed survey method of data collection using structured questionnaire. According to , the minimum number of sample size was determined as 320 employees. David B. King's the spiritual intelligence self-report inventory (SISRI) scale is used to measure spiritual intelligence and six dimensions of job satisfaction developed by Stamps and Piedmont is used to measure job satisfaction. Organizational commitment is measured by using its three dimensions namely affective commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment. Relationship among spiritual intelligence, organizational commitment and job satisfaction of employees in banking sector is ascertained using Karl Pearson's correlation and the impact of spiritual intelligence on organizational commitment and job satisfaction of the employees is ascertained and analyzed using Multiple Regression analysis.

This article is the first of two articles, in a greater series, that will look at evidence indicating a connection to the spiritual stream of Rosicrucianism. In our previous two articles we have addressed, in the first, the moral questions that have arisen regarding Harry Potter’s connection to “witchcraft and wizardry” and in the second, the path of initiation as it is presented in the stories. In these previous studies we have established a basis to begin to understand the spiritual sources from which J. K. Rowling has drawn in creating the Harry Potter series. In the present article we will seek to place Rosicrucianism in a proper context to historical Christianity (and to the evolution of consciousness in general) before we attempt to show the extent to which Rosicrucianism figures into the Potter series primarily through an examination of the similarities between it and The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz —one of the original manifestos of the Rosicrucians. To accomplish this we will be focusing mainly on similar outer characteristics such as story line, plot and setting while also providing some insights into their esoteric underpinnings. This is intended to provide a foundation for a subsequent article (PART IV, Harry Potter and the Rosicrucian Stream No. 2), in which we will attempt to show how the Rosicrucian spirit suffuses the books as well as the character of Harry Potter and his two closest companions Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, who together, as mentioned earlier in this series, might well represent the members of the tri-partite human soul: thinking, feeling and willing.

The book under review, Seven Steps to Spiritual Intelligence, is an attempt to provide spiritual guidance to the citizens of wealthy nations who are immersing themselves in materialistic excesses. The topic of spirituality is typically explored outside the realm of religious precepts, and this work offers a much-needed contribution to the literature explaining the concept in light of Islamic teachings. The author, Musharraf Hussain, argues that spiritual intelligence is the means to gain an enhanced understanding of God, which grants the individual serenity of the heart and peace in the mind. He explains this through a brief guidebook consolidating fourteen centuries of spiritual wisdom extracted from Islamic literature.

Today research scholars are facing more challenge in this global world. To improve their competence and
achievement is very important issue. Spiritual intelligence has attained a valuable place as an academic construct in
the field of psychology. Spiritual intelligence (SI) plays significant role in problem solving and critical existential
thinking and can be used for improving research performance of research scholars. There are studies on
investigating the influence of spirituality on academic performance at the college level (Astin, Astin, & Lindholm,
2011; Bolghani-Abadi et al., 2012; Capeheart-Meningall, 2005; Cassidy, 2012; Green & Noble, 2010) but hardly
any study that deal with this concept at the PhD level and none address its effect on competence and achievement. In
an effort to help their students, faculties, supervisors, guides and mentors have to understand that including a
spiritual component will aid in holistic development and ultimately motivate achievement. In this study a
systematic review of peer reviewed publications was carried out to understand the effect of spiritual intelligence on
competence and academic achievements of research scholars.

In comparison to other professions, first responders are at a heightened risk of work-related trauma. Repeated and unpredictable exposure to peri-traumatic distress can cause cumulative negative mental health outcomes, often triggering symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), to which DSM-5 recently added a dissociative subtype (PTSD-DISS). The study of Spiritual Intelligence (SI), as a process that allows a positive confrontation with adversity, initiates hypotheses as to the role of the aforementioned variable the context of crisis intervention, which -according to the existing literature- may either serve as a buffer or an amplifier towards disaster-related trauma. This study compared Spiritual Intelligence as exhibited by first responders scoring high on their frequency of experiencing dissociation (i.e. harbouring liability for PTSD-DISS). SI is defined as the adaptive application of spirituality in everyday life, which includes an array of mental abilities thought to contribute to the awareness, integration, and adaptive application of the nonmaterial and transcendent aspects of one's existence. It encompasses facets of human pondering relating to the nature of purpose, relatioships, death and trancendence, all of which carry heavy connotations in the context of existential concerns initiated by trauma and crisis exposure.

Spiritual intelligence, emotional intelligence and self-efficacy in context of academic achievement of student teachers refer to the positive psychological abilities which help them in bringing about desired result of their own commitment and learning and as well as of their students during teaching practice. The whole query of interest in this study is how the changes in the spiritual intelligence, emotional intelligence and self-efficacy are associated to the academic achievement. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that emotional intelligence is strong predictor of academic achievement rather than self-efficacy and spiritual intelligence.

Multiple intelligence theory presents an overlap of trait and behavioral theory in the discussion of leadership. Gardner pioneered the multiple intelligence theory, including linguistic intelligence, musical intelligence, logic-mathematical intelligence, spatial intelligence, bodily-kinesthetic intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, and intrapersonal intelligence. Although scholars have focused on the differing categories of intelligence, little work has been conducted on using the categories of intelligence in leadership. To address this gap in the literature, a qualitative instrumental case study was conducted to answer the following research question: How and why are leaders using multiple intelligences in leadership? Based on the literature, the categories of intelligence for the study included linguistic intelligence, logic-mathematical intelligence, emotional intelligence, knowledge intelligence, temporal intelligence, cultural intelligence, and spiritual intelligence. The sample included 3 highly influential leaders of megachurch and para-church ministries who influenced over 2,000 individuals utilizing purposeful sampling. Interviews included 1 for the leader, 1 for the follower, and 1 for the leader and follower. The literature determined the in-depth questions and follow-up questions, which explored the “how” and “why” behind respondent answers. To ensure validation and credibility, the analysis employed data saturation through triangulation. The study resulted in all 3 leaders using all 7 intelligences. Multiple coding in data analysis revealed 3 themes under “how” and 3 themes under “why” leaders utilized multiple intelligences in their leadership.

This cross-sectional study sought to examine spiritual intelligence (SI) as a moderator between death anxiety (DA) and dissociative post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD-DISS) among first responders. A convenience sample of 182 first responders (aid workers and firefighters) was recruited from the regional directorates of Western Greece. Participants provided sociodemographic details and were assessed on SI, DA, and PTSD-DISS related symptomatology. We hypothesized that DA would successfully predict prodromal PTSD-DISS, with SI inversely moderating the relationship between the aforementioned constructs, such that an increase in SI would correspond to a decrease in PTSD-DISS. The overall model confirmed that DA, SI and their linear combination significantly explained 77% of PTSD-DISS variance. Furthermore, SI significantly moderated the relationship between DA and PTSD-DISS, though in the opposite than expected direction: At low SI values the association between DA and PTSD-DISS was nonexistent (t = .45, p = .07), whereas DA had an incremental effect on PTSD-DISS analogous to increasing SI values (average SI, t = .2, p = .05; high SI, t = 2.54, p = .01). The results indicate diverse trajectories of spiritual (death anxiety-related) experiences and SI in mental health outcomes. Conceptual considerations and suggestions for future research are discussed.

The traditional view of intelligence defines this entity purely in terms of numbers.  This is extremely narrow in what it describes and predicts, and is limiting in terms of developing students’ full potential.  Gardner’s theory of Multiple Intelligence and Sternberg’s Triarchic Theory of Intelligence provide a much more expanded and complete notion of intelligence and can be used to fully develop students’ talents and interests.  By recognizing and developing emotional intelligence, holistic intelligence, and spiritual intelligence, schools have the potential to transform the learner and ultimately society.

This Master Thesis highlights my personal process and inner development of the last few years (2008-2015) while finding reference in transrational and transpersonal schools of thought. I try to reflect the main stations of my transformation. I am starting the six chapters with my love for language and meaning. I discuss my experience with transrational Peaces, integral theory, aesthetics, subtle and causal dimensions of dialogue. Finally everything is culminating in Martin Buber’s second person spirituality. My core motivation to choose the Jewish-German philosopher Martin Buber and the sacred sense of dialogue as a guiding star has to do with the deep wounding between human beings as between the German and the Jewish culture. I believe that the art of relating outlined in Bubers Work is the kind of medicine that is strong enough to fully heal the core-wounding of the human kind. In that sense this Thesis gave me the opportunity to study a universal way of relating that equally integrates human and divine being. Buber is advocating for a deeper sense of relating and a deeper understanding and integration of both, Transcendence and Immanence.
I am basically asking what I needed to go through in my heart and mind in order to see and love the second face of God (second person approach to self and being), what is so beautifully taken care of in Buber’s words. By revisiting my way through some pitfalls, shadow and light I open my view and love for a sacred sense of dialogue and meeting. It is the art of trust and surrender. It is the art of dialogue. It is the mystery of what and who appears in between of us when we open up to what and whom is already here. Sacred dialogue and an existential sense of relating to self is the guiding star and red thread I am following in this Thesis.
Writing this as my dear and heartfelt project and at the same time dealing with academic standards was a big task and struggle for me. It took me restarts and reshapes to finally get trough to what seemed satisfying to me and my supervisor. On the one hand I easily lost track in details while trying to get down to the essence of what I call Higher We and Sacred Dialogue. On the other hand I was facing harsh critique by my patient supervising Professor who heroically shared thought and process and provoked my intellectual refining. That professional attention is and was a huge gift to me and my process. I was at times in frustration and far away from my Professors way of seeing and putting transrational mind. We had no easy task with one another. Yet the friction turned out to be fruitful and leaves me stronger.
