-Energy efficiency is the kernel issue in the designing of wireless sensor network(WSN) MAC protocols. Energy efficiency is a major consideration while designing wireless sensor network nodes. Most sensor network applications require energy autonomy for the complete lifetime of the node, which may span up to several years. These energy constraints require that the system be built such that Wireless sensor networks use battery-operated computing and sensing devices. A network of these devices will collaborate for a common application such as environmental monitoring. Each component consumes minimum possible power, ensure the average successful transmission rate, decrease the data packet average waiting time, and reduce the average energy consumption. Influencing by the design principles of traditional layered protocol stack, current MAC protocol designing for wireless sensor networks (WSN) seldom takes load balance into consideration, which greatly restricts WSN lifetime. As a novel Forwarding Election-based MAC protocol, is presented to prolong WSN lifetime by means of improving energy efficiency and enhancing load balance.

We present novel techniques to counter a set of active attacks, such as denial-of-service (DoS), probe, vampire, and user-to-root (U2R) attacks, in a mobile ad hoc network (MANET) environment for a single-and multi attack scenario. Attacks are detected using a profile (behavior) analysis for single attacks and a distributed trust for multi attacks. A standard ad hoc on demand distance vector (AODV) routing protocol has been used in a Network Simulator 2 (NS2) environment. We report a maximum accuracy of 87.75% for a single attack and 90.95% for a multi attack scenario.

Transmission line multiple faults detection and indication to Electricity Board (EB) deals with the problem of detecting the fault in the transmission lines and the automatic intimation to EB. This paper deals with the design and fabrication of power supply, microcontroller, RF Transmitter, RF Receiver, sensors and GSM modem. This paper proposes greatly reduces the manpower, saves time and operates efficiently without human interference. With the advent in technology, the existing systems are developed to have in built intelligence. In the transmission line feeding any number of loads, an indication is provided to the microcontroller. When the voltage through the line falls below a programmed voltage, an immediate indication is provided by the microcontroller through the RF transmitter. The RF receiver of GMS modem will receive the signal and send the message to the electricity board. The total system has been designed and fabricated in a prototype and also tested with consumer end side voltage Index Terms—Electricity Board, RF, GSM Modem

This article presents a load flow analysis of an IEEE14 BUS system using the Newton-Raphson method, which simplifies the analysis of load balancing problems. The software used for the programming platform is MATLAB. This paper gives an overview of the electrical performance and power flows (real and reactive) under a steady state. There are various methods for load flow computations. The gauss-seidel method is more popular in smaller systems because of less computational time. In the case of larger systems computation time increases in this condition, the Newton-Raphson method is preferred. This project aims to develop a MATLAB program to calculate voltages and active and reactive power at each bus for IEEE 14 bus systems. The MATLAB program is executed with the input data and results are compared.

Image recoloring is a technique that can transfer image color or theme and result in an imperceptible change in human eyes. Although image recoloring is one of the most important image manipulation techniques, there is no special method designed for detecting this kind of forgery. In this paper, we propose a trainable end-to-end system for distinguishing recolored images from natural images. The proposed network takes the original image and two derived inputs based on illumination consistency and inter-channel correlation of the original input into consideration and outputs the probability that it is recolored. Our algorithm adopts a CNN-based deep architecture, which consists of three feature extraction blocks and a feature fusion module. To train the deep neural network, we synthesize a dataset comprised of recolored images and corresponding ground truth using different recoloring methods. Extensive experimental results on the recolored images generated by various methods show that our proposed network is well generalized and much robust.

Online social networks became a global phenomenon with enormous social as well as economic impact within a few years. Alone, the most popular online social network, Facebook, counts currently more than 850 million users worldwide. Consequently, online social networks attract a great deal of attention among practitioners as well as researchers. The goal of this article is to provide an overview of online social networks in order to contribute to a better understanding of this worldwide phenomenon. In this context, we address for example the following questions: What are the major functionalities and characteristics of online social networks? What are the users' motives for using them and how did online social networks emerge and develop over time? What is the impact and value of online social networks from a business perspective and what are corresponding challenges and risks?

— The vast development of mobile technologies has led to a competitive environment between the existing providers of telecommunication services in delivering their best offers to create customer values. Among their customers, postpaid subscribers have a distinguished position due to their exclusive characteristics which require special treatments from respective providers. This study aims to identify customer values created by telecommunications services provider, particularly for postpaid subscribers. A descriptive and causal analysis with further examination using Structural Equation Modeling is taken as the research methodology. There are 650 postpaid subscribers of 3 major telecommunications service providers in Indonesia, i.e. Telkomsel, Indosat and XL Axiata, asked to be the respondents. The results indicate that to create customer values particularly for postpaid mobile customers, companies should prioritize the development and performance improvement of customers' relationship management, a deeper integration of customer characteristics, and an improved marketing mix. Looking at these results, this study offers a strategic step for telecommunication service providers in improving customer values as a means to increase customer loyalty to their services.

There are several models for the calculation of the acceleration factor for the electronic assemblies subjected to stress tests. A correct reliability assessment requires an accurate analysis of these models and the evaluation of their real effectiveness and adequacy. As regard to the solder joints subjected to the thermomechanical stresses given by temperature variation, applicable models are the original Coffin-Manson model, the Coffin-Manson model modified by Norris and Landzberg, and the model described in the standard IPC-SM-785. The last one is the most complete model to evaluate the acceleration factors given by slow temperature swings. However, the most effective method for the estimate of the solder joint aging is based on the analysis of the microstructure of the alloy. Regarding the acceleration factors of the electronic components, the international standard IEC 61709 can be used. This standard provides the equations to determine the intrinsic failure rates of the electronic components. Those equations allow to calculate the acceleration factors for the different types of stress (caused by temperature, voltage, current, etc.). This standard is more linked to the actual characteristics of the components than MIL-STD-217F, which was widespread in the past. IEC 61709 is also a useful tool for the design of electronic assemblies. A new method for the calculation of the acceleration factors is the analysis of the variation of the electrical parameters of the assembly when the stress is applied. This new method allows to evaluate directly the effects of the stress on the functionality of the assembly.

Voltage fluctuations on electric power systems sometimes give rise to noticeable illumination changes from lighting equipment. This phenomenon is often referred to as flicker, lamp flicker, and sometimes voltage flicker. This recommended practice provides specifications for measurement of this phenomenon and recommends acceptable levels for 120 V, 60 Hz and 230 V, 50 Hz AC electric power systems. It does not make any flicker emission specifications for certification of individual products manufactured for use on these systems.

— Brushless Direct Current Motors (BLDC) are used in many applications for their low cost, high performance , ease of control, less maintenance because of absence of commutators and brushes and high efficiency. These advantages of BLDC motors have led to their wide spread use in variable speed drives. The main objective of this paper is to develop a drive system for BLDC motor with reduced switches and minimum hardware. The proposed work is based on, the dsPIC controlled four switch three phase inverter fed BLDC motor drive. The advantage of this inverter that uses four switches instead of conventional six switches is lesser switching losses, lower electromagnetic interference (EMI), less complexity and reduced interference circuit. dsPIC30F4011 digital controller is used to generate the switching pulses for Four Switch Three Phase Inverter consists of MOSFET Switches to drive the BLDC motor. Simulation and experimental work are carried out and results are presented. A simulation is carried out using MATLAB/SIMULINK and in the experimental work a prototype model is constructed to verify the simulation results.

This paper focused on the motor current signature analysis (MCSA) which utilizes the results of spectral analysis of the stator current. FFT is used for spectrum analysis and frequency of stator current observed for healthy and faulty induction motor. With the help of Matlab Simulink, KQJJ-IMFD model is developed for fault diagnosis of induction motor using FFT. KQJJ-IMFD model is new, simple, and understandable and detects various faults. In this paper various induction motor faults like voltage unbalance, rotor fault, and stator fault are simulated and detected with the help of current spectrum through FFT analysis on the stator current.
