We review the role entrepreneurship capital in regional economic performance and extend it to explain the economic and entrepreneurial performance of organizations, teams, and individuals. Drawing on entrepreneurship and social capital research, we demonstrate that researchers at different level of analysis are in fact modeling the same underlying multi-level concept: entrepreneurship capital. We identify elements of entrepreneurship capital at and across the levels. Where there are gaps, we suggest new directions for research, public policy, and management practice that focus on enhancing organizational, interpersonal, and personal factors which promote entrepreneurial action at and across regional, organizational, team, and individual levels.

Although the concept of creative giftedness is still a comparatively new one, the benefits of applying research from this area are already making themselves known. Among these benefits are the tremendous advantages of including creativity in models of giftedness. In this chapter we first highlight how creative giftedness research has differentiated itself from intelligence. Next, we will describe four recent models of giftedness (TheThree-Ring Model of Giftedness, the DMGT Model, the WICS Model, and the Feldman developmentalist position) that all involve a creative component. We will also cover recent advances in creativity research that have implications for creative giftedness such as the concept of "mini-c" (as opposed to Big-C and Little-C). In conclusion, we argue the promise of dynamic assessment especially for creativity testing.

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to intelligence artificially realized through computation. AI has emerged as one of the promising computer science discipline originated in mid-1950. Over the past few decades, AI based random search algorithms, namely, genetic algorithm, ant colony optimization, and so forth have found their applicability in solving various real-world problems of complex nature. This chapter is mainly concerned with the application of some AI based random search algorithms, namely, genetic algorithm (GA), ant colony optimization (ACO), simulated annealing (SA), artificial immune system (AIS), and tabu search (TS), to solve the machine loading problem in flexible manufacturing system. Performance evaluation of the aforementioned search algorithms have been tested over standard benchmark dataset. In addition, the results obtained from them are compared with the results of some of the best heuristic procedures in the literature. The objectives of the present chapter is to make the readers fully aware about the intricate solutions existing in the machine loading problem of flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) to exemplify the generic procedure of various AI based random search algorithms. Also, the present chapter describes the step-wise implementation of search algorithms over machine loading problem.

Since 1978 Quentin Pickard has been a partner in private practice, specialising in conservation and ecclesiastical projects. Printed educational materials such as teacher’s handbook may affect the quality of education as much as teachers, curriculum, educational environment, and the other course materials. Perspectives of eighty-two pre-service elementary teachers regarding the activities and songs included in the teacher’s handbook for music course were examined by content analysis for shedding light on the nature of the handbook and for producing knowledge about how an effective teacher’s handbook for music course may be like. Even though the question was deliberately worded to let respondents express their both positive and negative views, the number of respondents who expressed positive views and the frequency of such expressions were considerably lower compared to the negative ones. Personnel selection is one of the cornerstones of I/O psychology. In the first edition of this volume in the Handbook of Psychology, Schmitt, Cortina, Ingerick, and Weichmann published a comprehensive review of the existing personnel selection literature. In this second edition update, which includes approximately 240 new references, we sought to achieve several goals. One was to integrate into the first edition model the variables and processes that have received recent attention. A second goal was to forecast the future by suggesting variables, processes, and issues that deserve attention over the next ten years. Among the topics that we emphasize in the present chapter (as opposed to the previous version) are knowledge and skill predictors of contextual performance, personality predictors of performance, predictors of team performance, intraindividual variability, faking in personality assessment, implicit measurement, fairness, motivation, counterproductive work behaviors, withdrawal, citizenship, diversity, workplace safety, innovation, customer service, and expatriate/cross cultural issues.
