FECHA: 06/12/13 OBJETIVO Son dispositivos encargados de des energizar un sistema, circuito o artefacto, cuando en ellos se alteran las condiciones normales de funcionamiento. Como su nombre lo indica, estos aparatos protegen las instalaciones para evitar daños mayores que redunden en pérdidas económicas. Algunos de ellos están diseñados para detectar fallas que podrían provocar daños a las personas.

Secara umum proses pendinginan pada sistem Air Conditioner (AC) terjadi karena adanya perubahan bentuk zat pendingin (Refrigerant) dari bentuk cair, uap air dan gas. Hal ini bisa terjadi karena sistem AC menggunakan beberapa komponen yang memungkinkan terjadinya perubahan tekanan dan temperature. AC juga menggunakan pendingin untuk menurunkan suhu udara dalam ruangan, memanfaatkan hukum fisika: Ketika cairan berubah menjadi gas (dalam proses yang disebut fase konversi) akan menyerap panas. AC mengeksploitasi sifat konversi ini dengan memaksa senyawa kimia khusus menguap dan mengembun secara berulang-ulang dalam sistem kumparan tertutup. Senyawa yang terlibat adalah refrigeran yang memiliki sifat yang memungkinkannya untuk berubah pada suhu relatif rendah. Dalam komponen AC juga terdapat kipas yang menggerakkan udara panas melalui kumparan yang berisi refrigeran. Ketika udara panas mengalir di atas pendingin, tekanan rendah menguapkan kumparan, refrigeran di dalamnya menyerap panas karena perubahan dari cair menjadi gas. Untuk menjaga pendinginan tetap efisien, AC harus mengubah gas pendingin kembali menjadi cairan lagi. Untuk melakukannya, kompresor menempatkan gas di bawah tekanan tinggi, sebuah proses yang menciptakan panas. Semua panas tambahan yang diciptakan oleh proses kompresi gas ini kemudian dialirkan ke luar dengan bantuan set kumparan lain yang disebut kondensor, dan dibantu kipas lainnya. Itulah sebabnya ketika kita mendekat ke mesin AC yang biasa ada di luar ruangan, udara di sekitarnya akan terasa lebih panas. Ketika gas mendingin akan berubah kembali menjadi cairan, dan proses di atas dimulai lagi. Ini merupakan proses siklus yang tak berujung. Kita dapat melihat bahwa ada dua hal yang berbeda terjadi di sebuah perangkat AC. Refrigeran yang mendinginkan udara dalam ruangan, dan gas yang dihasilkan secara terus menerus dikompresi dan didinginkan untuk diubah kembali ke cairan. Secara detail prinsip kerja AC adalah sebagai berikut : • Proses pertama adalah kipas sentrifugal yang ada dalam evaporator menghisap udara di dalam ruangan dan udara tersebut akan bersentuhan dengan pipa coil yang berisi cairan refrigerant. Refrigerant kemudian akan menyerap panas udara sehingga udara menjadi dingin yang menyebabkan refrigerant akan menguap. Refrigerant yang menguap tersebut dikumpulkan dalam penampung uap.

In this paper, we propose a simulation-before-test (SBT) fault diagnosis methodology based on the use of a fault dictionary approach. This technique allows the detection and localization of the most likely defects of open-circuit type occurring in Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (CMOS) analog integrated circuits (ICs) interconnects. The fault dictionary is built by simulating the most likely defects causing the faults to be detected at the layout level. Then, for each injected fault, the spectre's frequency responses and the power consumption obtained by simulation are stored in a table which constitutes the fault dictionary. In fact, each line in the fault dictionary constitutes a fault signature used to identify and locate a considered defect. When testing, the circuit under test is excited with the same stimulus, and the responses obtained are compared to the stored ones. To prove the efficiency of the proposed technique, a full custom CMOS operational amplifier is implemented in 0.25 µm technology and the most likely faults of opencircuit type are deliberately injected and simulated at the layout level.

In this paper we propose an approach for testing time-domain properties of analog and mixed-signal circuits. The approach is based on an adaptation of a recently developed test generation technique for hybrid systems and a new concept of coverage for such systems. The approach is illustrated by its application to some benchmark circuits.

Information representation and processing is fundamental to learning based cognitive control. Within cybernetics, AI, and psychology, it is recognised that there are two fundamentally different forms of information representation/processing (e.g. analog and digital), or systems of thinking (e.g. Khaneman's System-1 and System-2). It is also recognized, within both AI and psychology based literature, that the two different forms are best suited to performing different tasks. This chapter explores the characteristics of these two forms of information representation and processing with reference to literature on: connectionist-type systems, gestalt psychology, analogical reasoning, metaphorical and similarity thinking, sensorimotor and embodied cognition, and, imagery (as exemplars of System-1 thinking); and, abstract, symbolic representation and processing, sequential logic, and formal operational thinking (as exemplars of System-2 thinking). Based on the literature, System-1 type thinking is summarized as: relatively fast, relatively imprecise, parallel-analogical processing of polysensory gestalt representations. In contrast, System-2 type thinking is summarized as: relatively slow, relatively precise, serial-logical processing of unisensory abstract representations. The advantages and disadvantages of the two systems are noted with regard to facilitating learning based control. It is suggested that optimal learning based control will be provided by a hybrid computing arrangement which combines their individual strengths and compensates for their individual deficiencies.

The study focuses on the relationship between parents and children. Using parallels in music and physics, we try to prove that the transition between analog and digital music has an important impact on the world of characters. We also look at the development of technology and how it is incorporated into the structure of the novel.
