Critical Theory of Technology

The following essay discusses the changing role of technology in various art forms, focusing on its impact on the artist's autonomy. As digital tools and platforms become increasingly essential to artistic creation, they present new opportunities and challenges for creative expression. The paper examines how technology has transformed traditional mediums such as painting and sculpture, giving rise to entirely new digital art, virtual reality, and AI-generated works. While technology has democratized artmaking, enabling broader participation and innovation, it also raises questions about an artist's autonomy and originality in an age of algorithmic assistance. By analyzing the theoretical perspectives of prominent thinkers-especially Herbert Marcuse-this essay aims to understand how artists navigate the balance between creative control and external specialized influence, ultimately questioning whether technology enhances or reduces an artist's autonomy. This discussion contributes to broader debates on the future of art in a rapidly changing and highly digitized world. When we examine the value of an art form in the human cognitive process, it is relevant to compare it with the scientific cognitive process. An art form involves a cognitive elaboration of facts, where an artist expresses their innermost feelings: the creative process can serve as a tool for both art and propaganda. Although propaganda potentiates social realities, its power in this aspect often depends on the artistry. If art is to enhance understanding genuinely, it must do more than assert itself as propaganda does: instead, it must secure belief through reflective understanding. In contrast to the process of scientific inquiry, a work of art is a creative expression that can enhance and illuminate day-today experiences. Thus, artistic cognition is a powerful medium that makes an art form more valuable than any materialistic objects of pleasure and provides a better understanding of the human experience. If a reality depicted by an art form is deeply rooted in human experience, there is a danger of a technology-driven art form which may completely alter the uniqueness of this experience. Thus, this study examines the factors that significantly contribute to the inherent part of the human creative process and those that are detrimental to it.

The article analyses how, on the threshold of the second round of the French legislative elections of 2024, the classic anti-fascist moto “No pasarán!” ("they shall not pass") comes at the wrong time, given that the Far right “has already passed” (in that country and around the world). Thus, it is argued that the emergence of the Far right is the culmination of decades of production of a neoliberal-digital subjectivity. Hence, just as neoliberalism was imposed by way of military dictatorship and violence, this neo-fascist acceleration is imposed through votes and mobile screens.
From this perspective, it is argued that the Right has been able to capitalise on fear, anger and the feeling of imminent collapse, mobilising basic emotions and depoliticising citizens. In contrast, the Left continues to cling to the search for a political subject that articulates a future project, without recognising that the current triumph of the far right is, in essence, the product of a transformation of subjectivities. Thus, the text invites us to rethink political strategies, suggesting the urgency of a “politics of the end (of the world)” that, recognizing the accumulated defeats, reorients itself towards the mobilization of the sectors vulnerable to apocalyptic and hopeless discourses. O LEED®, o sistema de avaliação de sustentabilidade ambiental mais comum no Brasil, é examinado em sua principal categoria de eficiência energética, responsável pela maior proporção da pontuação dentro do certificado. O sistema é apresentado em sua estrutura de categorias e créditos, em que é elaborado como a noção de eficiência é utilizada na avaliação de projetos. Verifica-se, por meio de dados disponíveis na literatura, qual é o desempenho energético de edifícios em operação, para em seguida comparar-se as pontuações de todos os edifícios corporativos certificados no Brasil com o sistema LEED® CSv3, com o resultado de que poucos edifícios têm desempenho significativo em eficiência energética. Por fim, a própria ideia de eficiência é discutida a partir do Paradoxo de Jevons, um conceito da economia política pelo qual ganhos de eficiência são elementos centrais da produção capitalista que levam a um rebote de aumento no consumo social total. Conclui-se que as características do sistema de avaliação, que privilegia estratégias ativas, eficiências relativas e avaliação do projeto sem considerar a operação do edifício, são entraves para a adoção do LEED® como uma ferramenta relevante em políticas públicas de transição ecológica. // LEED®, the most common environmental sustainability assessment system in Brazil, is examined in its main energy efficiency category, responsible for the largest proportion of the score within the certificate. The system is presented in its category and credit structure, in which it is elaborated how the notion of efficiency is used in the evaluation of projects. Through available literature data, the energy performance of buildings in operation is assessed, followed by a comparison of scores of all certified corporate buildings in Brazil with the LEED® CSv3 system, resulting in few buildings showing significant energy efficiency performance. Finally, the very idea of efficiency is discussed following the Jevons' Paradox, a concept of political economy whereby efficiency gains are central elements of capitalist production leading to a rebound increase in total social consumption. It is concluded that the characteristics of the assessment system, which prioritize active strategies, relative efficiencies, and project evaluation without considering building operation, hinder the adoption of LEED® as a relevant tool in public policies for ecological transition.

Η παρούσα ακαδημαϊκή έρευνα εξετάζει τον αντίκτυπο της κυβερνητικής στη δυναμική σχέση μεταξύ του χώρου και του ανθρώπινου σώματος, εστιάζοντας στο συνθετικό και ερευνητικό έργο του Τάκη Ζενέτου. Πιο συγκεκριμένα στην έρευνά του «Ηλεκτρονική Πολεοδομία», ως παράδειγμα της καταλυτικής επίδρασης των τεχνολογιών των ψηφιακών δικτύων, στις μεταλλαγές που επιδέχονται οι έννοιές του ανθρώπινου σώματος και του χώρου, στην αρχιτεκτονική και πολεοδομική σύνθεση.
Η ανάλυση επιτυγχάνεται μέσω ενός δυναμικού - θεωρητικού εργαλείου (χωρικό σχεδιάγραμμα), που αποδίδει τις μεταλλαγές μεταξύ των σχέσεων χώρου – σώματος σε τρείς ιστορικές τομές: την Αναγέννηση, την Βιομηχανική Επανάσταση (Μοντέρνο), φτάνοντας στην εποχή της αυγής των τεχνολογιών της Κυβερνητικής του 1960, όπου άλλαξε για πάντα τον τρόπο με τον οποίο ο άνθρωπος συλλαμβάνει και βιώνει τον χώρο.
Η αρχιτεκτονική έρχεται να επηρεαστεί από τις τεχνολογικές ανακαλύψεις και τα δοκίμια των οραματιστών Norbert Wiener και Marshall McLuhan, όπου έβλεπαν την σύνδεση του σώματος και των δικτύων σε ένα ευρύτερο - άυλο ψηφιακό χώρο.
Ο Τάκης Ζενέτος ήρθε να γίνει ο κοινωνός των θεωριών των Wiener και McLuhan αποδίδοντας αυτές στις θεωρίες μέσω συνθετικών χειρονομιών, όπως το «Σπάσιμο του Κύβου» για την επίτευξη της χωρικής ευελιξίας και μεταβλητότητας, για να φτάσει στο αρχιτεκτονικό του «απόσταγμα» την «Ηλεκτρονική Πολεοδομία», ως λύση για την κοινωνία του μέλλοντος.

Este trabalho tem por objetivo a apresentação da primeira edição do Programa de Iniciação Tecnológica (PROITEC) para estudantes de escola pública da cidade de Poções -BA, um projeto de extensão com apoio institucional do IFBA, que teve como intuito dar oportunidade a alunos da rede pública de vivenciar uma experiência com a robótica que vá além da matriz curricular, disseminando conhecimentos e estimulando a qualificação na área tecnológica de uma sociedade desigual e excludente. Este trabalho buscou fomentar o estudo da robótica em alunos vulneráveis socioeconomicamente com poucos recursos tecnológicos. Para a realização deste trabalho, estudantes de Engenharia Elétrica do IFBA campus Vitória da Conquista, sob orientação da professora-orientadora, promoveram encontros com os discentes da rede pública Municipal e Estadual de Poções, beneficiados pelo programa, para a explanação dos conteúdos estabelecidos pelo projeto, como eletricidade básica, programação e robótica. Em seguida, os discentes foram orientados na aplicação prática desses conteúdos por meio da construção de protótipos, os quais foram expostos em uma mostra de robótica, juntamente como outros projetos desenvolvidos no IFBA. Ao final do projeto os alunos participantes se mostraram engajados e interessados em seguir carreira na área, além disso, muitos relataram a mudança em suas perspectivas futuras após a participação no programa.

In the process of pursuing a happy life, people inevitably encounter problems and dilemmas. Rosa, the fourth generation representative of the Frankfurt School, proposed his own theory of new alienation and resonance. The author attempts to analyze and examine the logical essence of Rosa's social criticism theory, and further clarify that Marx's humanistic logic will ultimately replace capital logic as the fundamental path for people to pursue a happy life. Hartmut Rosa analyzed various new alienation phenomena in modern society based on his criticism of Yege's concept of alienation, and used his "resonance" theory as a therapeutic plan. At a time when "acceleration" has become a common psychological sensation among modern people, Rosa's pathological analysis and diagnosis of modern society has also triggered many "resonance". However, Rosa's new alienation theory is still only a theory to explain the world in the final analysis. The resonance used by Rosa to solve the alienation problem is an accidental state of the relationship between the subject and the world, which is like a flash in the pan. This also makes this theory itself present the characteristics of contingency and uncertainty. From the perspective of Marxist humanism, critical reflection on Rosa's theory of alienation and resonance can better demonstrate the rationality and inherent defects of his theory, thereby enriching the ethical research of Marxist theory in a conscious theoretical dialogue.

19 世纪末法国作家阿尔弗雷德·雅里把男孩子的想象力运用于哲学思考中，自创“啪嗒学”，在全球范围 内产生深远影响。在《啪嗒学家浮士德若尔的功绩和思想》里，雅里为“啪嗒学”明确三个定义。雅里对“啪嗒学”的 坚持，不只停留在著述中，日常生活中他也戴着“怪物”面具坚持“愚比式”的姿态，表现出“啪嗒学”的悖论结构—— 不和谐的元素互相碰撞、彼此共存。在这一结构中，“啪嗒学”突破其批判 19 世纪末戏谑或嘲讽形而上学的目标，成 为一种独特的文学—哲学现象，为审视现代性冲突寻到一条特别的道路。

Este artigo aborda a curadoria da exposição « Convivendo com robôs », apresentada de novembro  de  2023  a  maio  de  2024,  na  Japan  House  de  São  Paulo.  Sob  o  título  «  Real Robots », pretende-se sublinhar que este evento foi uma das raras manifestações culturais inteiramente  dedicadas  aos  robôs  existentes.  Ao  contrário  dos  robôs  que  predispõem  a todo tipo de mistificações sobre tecnologia em geral, a robótica em particular ou o futuro, as máquinas descritas neste artigo não são protótipos ou robôs de laboratório, mas sim produtos de consumo no Japão.

一般对马克思的平等思想解读都局限在《哥达纲领批判》中，不涉及到马克思早期思想转变，并基于历史唯物主义将平等视作观念论的产物。但实际上，马克思早在《论犹太人问题》中就存在平等思想，并在对鲍威尔的深刻批判中深化了其平等思想。马克思不仅将平等视作共产主义思想重要的理论范畴，而且马克思认为平等是社会现实的需求体现。因此，对于马克思而言，平等不再是观念论的产物，而是人类解放的现实诉求。(Generally, the interpretation of Marx's thought of equality is limited to the Critique of the Gotha Program, which does not involve the change of Marx's early thought, and regards equality as the product of conception based on historical materialism. But in fact, Marx had the thought of equality as early as in "On the Jews", and deepened his thought of equality in his profound criticism of Powell. Marx not only regarded equality as an important theoretical category of communist thought, but also believed that equality is the embodiment of the needs of social reality. Therefore, for Marx, equality is no longer the product of ideology, but the realistic demand of human liberation.)

Resumo: O presente trabalho, fundamentado na Teoria Crítica da Sociedade, discute sobre a tarefa histórica da Psicologia em uma época marcada pela conversão das já danificadas individualidades em dados e em alvos. Soma-se a isso um contexto de crescente militarização da vida e de educação dos sentidos a partir de uma estética e uma lógica da guerra. A sociedade neoliberal contemporânea parece dobrar a aposta em sua ofensiva sobre as condições de vida e sobrevivência, garantindo a retroalimentação do capital a qualquer custo. Assim, a educação pela dureza e a militarização das subjetividades surgem como formas de vida em um cenário insustentável e inabitável apesar do desenvolvimento técnico material. Essa razão instrumental domina e destrói as possibilidades de experiência real da subjetividade ao reduzi-la a um objeto de valor econômico substituível e os corpos em alvos desumanizados, ajustando os sentidos a uma estética de mais violência e exploração. O pensamento psicológico e dialético deve denunciar as tensões e contradições imanentes desse poder do estado tecnocrático. Nesse sentido, a proposta é aprofundar as reflexões sobre as contradições do desenvolvimento técnico atual que, ao invés de figurar como promessa de salvação, sequer é capaz de solucionar os problemas que cria e, frequentemente, acelera o agravamento das questões que deveria resolver. Identificar as inconsistências e falhas no interior desse sistema de poder técnico e burocrático é pensar a Psicologia. E pensá-la hoje, em tempos de crise brutal da individualidade requer que se considere o desenvolvimento que parece nos qualificar mais para a guerra que para a vida. However, a very relevant aspect of your work is going beyond the boundaries of a specialized field of study to rethink the links between social movements and general sociology. Based on your empirical contributions, can you tell our readers more about this perspective? Geoffrey Pleyers (GP): Social movements are a captivating subject for studying society and social change. They are both products and producers of society. They mirror emerging changes in values and ways of living together, for example, with their innovative use of new communication tools or the process of individualization. They also attempt to transform society. They alert us to its problems and change how we see society, the world, and life together. This is true of progressive and reactionary movements that have gained influence and have managed to diffuse their worldview and values in many countries. As

This thesis has as a point of convergence issues related to the continuing education of teachers in educational robotics, known as FOCORE. As a result, issues related to continuing teacher education policies, with an emphasis on the use of educational robotics, are addressed here. The interdisciplinarity, as a recurring consequence, of the pedagogical activities mediated by robotic technologies received, equally, deserved attention. Its object of study was FOCORE, and the questions that guided it were: The continuing education of teachers in educational robotics, following a curriculum focused on learning robotics as a pedagogical resource, proved to be effective as a structuring step in the implementation of the public policy of implementation of educational robotics in schools in the municipal education network of Natal? Did this training provide interdisciplinarity in the work developed by the teachers during the pedagogical workshops? Therefore, its main objective was to analyze the continuing education of teachers in educational robotics, based on robotics as a pedagogical teaching resource, as a structuring part of the public policy for the implementation of robotics in schools in the municipal education network of Natal, from the perspective of promote interdisciplinarity. This research presents methodological characteristics of an action research in function of the adopted methodological procedures; it is applied research as to its nature; and constitutes qualitative research in relation to its approach. The qualitative instruments for data collection focused on participant observation, questionnaires with open and closed questions, document analysis and video recordings. Bibliographic and documental research were used to theoretically support the assumptions of this study. FOCORE, as an action research intervention, object of this study, took place from the project to implement a public policy aimed at the implementation of educational robotics within the municipal education network of Natal-RN, conducted by the SME, in partnership with UFRN and mediated by the NTE of Natal. It is an extension course that involved twenty-four teachers, twenty of whom come from five schools in the municipal education network in Natal, and four from the NTE of Natal. As a result of this work, it was concluded that its central objective was achieved. During the practical application of the knowledge collectively built throughout the training process provided in FOCORE, materialized in the pedagogical workshops, the team of teachers involved planned a workshop where they applied robotics, as a pedagogical resource, in the mediation of the teaching and learning process of curricular contents, with the students of their respective classes, promoting interdisciplinarity. In this process, FOCORE proved to be effective as a structuring component of the public policy for implementing educational robotics in participating schools. Although FOCORE, as the research object of this work, was completed in the training experience that took place in the second half of 2019, its new versions will continue to support the policy of implementing educational robotics within the Municipality of Natal, as provided for by Law nº 0588/ 2019. FOCORE, object of study of this thesis, is the starting point and guideline for new formative experiences in educational robotics. The gains and achievements resulting from this research work are relevant and very significant, both for teachers and students, reflecting directly on the quality of education.

In the introduction to Learning in the age of digital reason Petar Jandrić is inviting usthe readers -to a party. A party where Jandrić, rather than bringing old friends together, "want to link people who do not normally talk to each other, transgress disciplinary boundaries, and foster conversations that are unlikely to take place elsewhere" (xi). And I should say from the beginning: What an unusually refreshing, vivid and sparkling party that is. Most universities in Uganda encourage memorization as the predominant method of learning. This has been partly linked to limited practical pedagogical skills among educators, to effectively engage students to develop Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). Consequently, students are not well prepared for the world after university. WhatsApp Enabled Learning (WAEL) has been found to support approaches to learning that promote development of HOTS, like inquiry, creativity, critical reflection and dialogue. Although many universities in Uganda have been using LMSs, there is little evidence that use of an LMS has enhanced development of HOTS. While the Ugandan society is catching on fast with use of WhatsApp due to increased access to mobile technology devices and Internet connectivity, use of WhatsApp in education is still limited. A civilização contemporânea é tecnológica par excellence. Embora a questão da tecnologia seja objeto de interesse da filosofia deste os antigos gregos, foi somente a partir da fundação da Sociedade para a Filosofia da Tecnologia (SPT), em 1976, nos Estados Unidos, é que a questão da tecnologia ocupou o seu lugar no centro do debate filosófico contemporâneo e se desponta como uma nova disciplina de estudo da filosofia. Este artigo discute os principais temas da disciplina filosofia da tecnologia, a saber, origem e evolução do conceito filosófico da tecnologia; racionalidade tecnológica e racionalidade prática; determinismo tecnológico e autonomia tecnológica; os movimentos antitecnológicos na sociedade contemporânea; as reflexões sobre as consequências e implicações da ausência da tecnologia para a vida humana nos dias atuais.

It traces the genealogical roots of Marcuse’s thought through engagements with figures such as Kant, Hegel, and Freud, and explores how their ideas shaped Marcuse’s critique of advanced industrial society. The section extends this analysis to contemporary issues, such as climate change, aesthetic socialism, and the role of popular culture in utopian thinking. By connecting Marcuse’s philosophical legacy to current global crises, the essays in this section offer a comprehensive view of reason’s potential for revolutionary transformation.

Ian Hacking once treated his main philosophical themes as three parts: styles of reasoning, making up people, and the philosophy of mathematics. Current research on Hacking thinks experimental realism is relatively independent from these themes. Examining Hacking’s works from the 1980s to 1990s, this article argues that the concept of stability developed in experimental realism led him to think about the difference between natural sciences and human sciences in terms of their ontological basis, which was further developed in Hacking’s simultaneous studies on the history of statistics, and enabled him to formulate the theory of the looping effects. Hence, by analyzing the developing process and the complex meaning of the stability in Hacking`s context, I will establish a coherent thread between experimental realism and his other themes.

Este artigo descreve uma experiência de aprendizagem enriquecedora em que crianças foram convidadas a embarcar em uma jornada de exploração no mundo dos gigantes. Inicialmente, participaram de Rodas de Leitura e deram vida aos seus próprios gigantes através de desenhos repletos de imaginação e que foram composição do repertório que desenvolveram. Mais tarde, incorporando a prática e inteligência artificial através de um site gratuito, eles transformaram seus gigantes em criações digitais utilizando um site gratuito que gera imagens com base no texto descrito por eles sobre "como é o seu gigante". O artigo destaca o papel da inteligência artificial como uma ferramenta para ampliar a linguagem digital, permitindo que as crianças descrevam detalhadamente seus gigantes e verifiquem a qualidade das descrições como fator importante no processo de criação digital e interação com as máquinas. Esse processo não apenas promoveu o desenvolvimento de uma familiaridade com a tecnologia digital, mas também aprimorou habilidades de comunicação oral e expressão gráfica. Ao longo da atividade, as crianças foram encorajadas a explorar a intersecção entre criatividade, tecnologia e aprendizagem, resultando em um ambiente multifacetado rico em descobertas. Often we unconsciously take for granted that there is not really an alternative to how we currently organize society-we tend to reify existing social order, misperceiving the way things are now as the way things must be. Such reification constrains our agency by discouraging the thought that we could do better. Alternative organizations undermine this reification by manifesting the real possibility of organizing differently. Such dereification is valuable in itself insofar as it lifts constraints on agency, facilitating intentional choice regarding the social systems we (re)produce. A case study of this dereification is offered by the Réseau Alimentaire Local (RAL), a network of French 'solidarity groceries' unified by the pursuit of more just and sustainable alternatives to the dominant model. Groups within the RAL develop their own software to manage these novel alternatives. We were struck, however, by some groups' efforts to reify their own solutions, disparaging other approaches as mere attempts to 'reinvent the wheel'. The case thus raised a tricky question: can alternative organizations dereify existing social order without at the same time reifying their proposal, thereby reimposing constraints on agency? Our exploration through the RAL case grounds two contributions. First, conceptualizing reification in terms of materializing abstract ideas, we demonstrate how any given organizational configuration contributes to the materialization of multiple ideas simultaneously. We identify two forms of such multiplicity: vertical multiplicity, where nested relational networks materialize coherent ideas that differ only in their degree of specificity; and horizontal multiplicity, where intersecting relational networks materialize divergent ideas of the same degree of specificity. We argue that failure to recognize this multiplicity accounts for a great deal of materiality’s reifying capacity, while its recognition can facilitate new ways of approaching the dereification challenge. Our second contribution is therefore a strategy for resisting reification: materializing multiplicity.

Resumo: O presente trabalho descreve o programa Incluir com Ciência e Tecnologia da Universidade do Estado de Santa Catarina, coordenado pelo professor André Bittencourt Leal. Tal programa tem como objetivo a inclusão social em diversas dimensões e, para isso, é organizado em três projetos internos: Assistiva-Tecnologia para Inclusão Social, Ciência ao Alcance de Todos e Robótica e Educação. CONTEXTO GERAL DA AÇÃO O programa Incluir com Ciência e Tecnologia é uma ação de extensão que tem como propósito a inclusão social em diversas perspectivas. Tal programa engloba três projetos com escopos diferentes, porém afins em seus objetivos gerais, tendo como alicerce a divulgação e popularização de ciência e de tecnologia junto à comunidade externa e promovendo inclusão social por meio de suas atividades. Η διδακτορική διατριβή επιχειρεί να εξερευνήσει την κριτική θεωρία της τεχνολογίας του Andrew Feenberg, με στόχο αφενός την κριτική ανασυγκρότηση των επιχειρημάτων του μέσω της παρουσίασης των φιλοσοφικών τους θεμελίων και αφετέρου την επανατοποθέτηση της θεωρίας του στο πλαίσιο των σύγχρονων ψηφιακών τεχνολογιών, ενώ ταυτόχρονα διατηρεί το πολιτικό της όραμα. Για την επίτευξη αυτού του στόχου, συνδυάζει την προσέγγιση του Feenberg στην τεχνολογία με την πολιτική παράδοση των ψηφιακών κοινών. Η έρευνα ξεκινά με μια ευρύτερη παρουσίαση της κριτικής θεωρίας της τεχνολογίας του Feenberg, δίνοντας έμφαση στην αντίθεσή του τόσο στην ουδετερότητα της τεχνολογίας όσο και στα επιχειρήματα που προβάλλονται από τους ουσιοκράτες. Στο πρώτο μέρος της έρευνας, παρουσιάζονται τα φιλοσοφικά θεμέλια της σκέψης του Feenberg, δηλαδή οι Marx, Weber, Lukács, Adorno, Horkheimer, Marcuse, Heidegger, Habermas, Honneth, Foucault, Latour και Simondon. Μέσα από την ανάλυση της επίδρασης αυτών των φιλοσόφων στη σκέψη του Feenberg, σκιαγραφούνται οι πιο σημαντικές έννοιες της προσέγγισής του. Στο δεύτερο μέρος, η έρευνα στρέφεται στη φιλοσοφία του Ψηφιακού και ειδικά του Διαδικτύου, παρουσιάζοντας όχι μόνο κάποιες προσεγγίσεις σε αυτό το μέσο, αλλά και την κριτική θεωρία του Διαδικτύου από τον Feenberg. Σε αυτό το μέρος της διατριβής, απαντάται ένα σημαντικό ερώτημα σχετικά με το Διαδίκτυο: Γιατί πρέπει να μελετά κανείς το Διαδίκτυο σήμερα; Στο τρίτο και τέταρτο μέρος, γίνεται η σύγκλιση μεταξύ της προσέγγισης του Feenberg στην τεχνολογία και της παράδοσης των ψηφιακών κοινών. Το τρίτο μέρος επιχειρεί να παρουσιάσει με ακρίβεια τι προσφέρει η παράδοση των κοινών στην πολιτική θεωρία, ενώ το τέταρτο μέρος συνδυάζει χαρακτηριστικά των ψηφιακών κοινών με έννοιες που προέρχονται από τη φιλοσοφία του Feenberg. O estudo da Matemática no Ensino Fundamental ainda acontece de maneira mecânica e, em muitos casos, sem a reflexão sobre sua aplicação na vida em sociedade, em futuras profissões e principalmente, sem responder à famosa pergunta dos estudantes "por que estou estudando isso?". Pensadores como Morán (2012) e Espinosa (2022) discorrem sobre essa realidade e a necessidade de modificá-la que urge. Percebe-se que a busca por essa mutação vem lentamente acontecendo através de ações pontuais de professores que estão em sala de aula. A principal metamorfose deu-se através da implementação da Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC), que possibilitou a introdução de competências e habilidades, que, sendo desenvolvidas permitem a renovação tão necessária à educação. A competência geral de número 5 da BNCC é definida dessa maneira: Compreender, utilizar e criar tecnologias digitais de informação e comunicação de forma crítica, significativa, reflexiva e ética nas diversas práticas sociais (incluindo as escolares) para se comunicar, acessar e disseminar informações, produzir conhecimentos, resolver problemas e exercer protagonismo e autoria na vida pessoal e coletiva. A possibilidade de realizar programação em dispositivos é uma realidade cada vez mais presente em diversos equipamentos que integram o cotidiano (por exemplo, celulares e até relógios). Uma maneira de explorar o potencial da programação em tais dispositivos é realizar a construção de um robô. Tal ação parte da programação, percorre o controle de componentes eletrônicos e materializa-se por completo com o corpo do robô. A fim de aumentar a atratividade dessa tarefa, é proposta a construção do droide BB-8, presente no filme Star Wars e conhecido por muitas pessoas. Pretende-se realizar o processo de construção em oficinas práticas nas quais o detalhamento dos procedimentos e a documentação do processo serão priorizados. A robotica movel e um ramo da robotica que estuda tecnicas para construcao e controle de robos que possuem capacidade de locomocao usando rodas, pernas ou qualquer outro dispositivo que permita sua locomocao. Energy humanities，an interdisciplinary research field，has emerged rapidly in recent years．  From the perspective and methodology of humanism，studies on energy humanities focus on all activities and relationships related to human beings in the field of energy practice．  By the criticism and analysis of energy representation in different fields of history，society，culture，literature and art，energy humanities is committed to building a bridge between natural science and human science，urging people to re-examine the direct  impact of fossil energy on shaping modern civilization，climate change and other " anthropocene" phenomena．  It calls for getting out of  the lost in energy realism，energy technologism and neoliberalism．  The relationship between human and energy resources，as well as a  sustainable human future can be reconstructed based on epistemology and ontology．  From a new dimension，energy humanities examines  the function of energy on human subjectivity，human society and human future．  It not only makes up for the absence of energy in human  science，but also supplements energy science research with humanism，which embraces extremely important theoretical value and practical guiding significance．  At present，energy humanities is still in the early stage of development，but its influence is increasing． "  Energy humanities" is expected to develop into an independent subject with interdisciplinary significance．

O Clube de Robótica Educacional surge da ideia de difundir conhecimentos na área de Robótica e áreas afins como Automação Residencial por exemplo, no Instituto Federal Fluminense. Resumo O processo de ensino e aprendizagem dos fundamentos de programação tem se demonstrado complexo para alunos e professores. Desta forma, torna-se imprescindível desenvolver pesquisas para sua melhoria. Nos dias atuais, percebe-se que o aprendizado de programação é um grande desafio para todos os alunos, em diversas áreas do conhecimento. Sendo assim, essa pesquisa busca mostrar como o Pensamento computacional aliado a uma ferramenta de software, pode auxiliar no processo de ensino e aprendizagem de alunos do 5º ano do ensino fundamental, em atividades envolvendo o raciocínio matemático e o uso de ferramentas computacionais. Neste sentido, métodos que facilitam a aprendizagem no ensino fundamental podem ser utilizados de forma eficiente. O presente trabalho propõe três vivências pedagógicas que serão elencadas a seguir: No primeiro exemplo, com o uso da ferramenta QUIZIZZ. No segundo, uso da ferramenta Scratch, criou-se um game, sendo abordado conceitos lógicos matemáticos, entre outros conceitos. No final, terceiro exemplo, blocos de montagem, e robótica, criou-se um pequeno artefato robótico.

Complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) continues to increase globally in treating various diseases. However, the potential role of CAM in modern clinical practice and health care systems appears to be limited and often even questioned. This limitation is caused by a demand to evaluate the success of CAM with a biomedical approach measure. The biomedical discipline uses scientific objectivity to explain medical phenomena through evidence-based methods, and the same method is often not applicable to CAM phenomena. This article proposes a qualitative research method with an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach that is more suitable to assess the success of CAM with a focus on the healing or life experience of participants. The use of qualitative research methods with an IPA approach provides a powerful tool for addressing doubts about the efficacy of CAM. Tem-se observado que o ensino da computação tem gradualmente sido incorporado na educação, ganhando mais espaço e proporcionando novas metodologias de aprendizagem por meio do uso de linguagens de programação. No entanto, ainda existem desafios no ensino e aprendizagem da programação, especialmente quando se trata da introdução desses conceitos. Os estudantes enfrentam dificuldades para compreender os conteúdos, além da complexidade dos ambientes de desenvolvimento utilizados. Diante desse contexto, este trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar possibilidades que facilitem a aprendizagem da programação por meio de uma abordagem visual, utilizando conceitos da robótica educacional voltados para alunos da educação básica.

Health care does not always take place in a setting of peace, prosperity, and social order, a point that is often overlooked in quotidian medical practice. This has become most evident with the current COVID-19 pandemic by the new coronavirus that is wreaking havoc across the planet. Health care providers are facing unprecedented challenges to intervene on numerous nonlinear uncertainties in science and society as the pandemic evolves. In Afghanistan, health care delivery is already a major crosscutting challenge. Although efforts to rebuild the health care systems in Afghanistan have been made (Acerra et al.), both acute and chronic illnesses remain as major medical and critical governance gaps to be remedied. In addition, health care facilities and medical equipment are not adequate in the country. There is a need for medical and scientific expertise to clinically and sociologically contextualize and interpret diagnostic tests as well as drugs and vaccines that will be deployed in the coming months as part of the planetary collective response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a time of pandemic and facing a novel infectious pathogen, health care workers are in need of planetary scale consultation and support. Even creating a small consultation network using mobile applications might offer improved health outcomes. The Internet of Things and digital health ought to be considered in concert with telemedicine as part of an effective pandemic response.

Films of science fiction, such as The Matrix (1999), and its sequels The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions (2003), are often categorized as cyberpunk which is a subgenre of contemporary science fiction. As typical examples of this type of science fiction, The Matrix and its sequels illustrate the concern of cyberpunk to envision a near future world where information technologies reign supreme, and shape the lives and affairs of societies including the lives and the very existence of individuals. More specifically, The Matrix trilogy depicts a future world that is populated with cyborgs, or posthumans, and run by a globally networked artificial intelligence called the matrix. In this respect these films do not only speculate on a highly technological near future but also on mankind`s changed existence in this environment. Especially, the image of the cyborg serves as a means to address the issue of the human and machine interface in these films. More importantly, the cyborg, or the post-human, in The Matrix and its sequels is not only emblematic of the human and machine interface but also of man's very dependence on this technology as a means to survive in a highly mechanized environment. This paper argues that The Matrix and its sequels subvert the man vs. technology dichotomy and speculate on the altered existence of humans by envisioning and affirming the coexistence of man and the machine in the near future.

Maps have been established as objects bestowed with knowledge, power and impact. In the hands of people, maps have been a form of political counter-power. The emergence of digital cartography, mobile media, data crowdsourcing platforms and geographic information systems strengthens the maps' muscle and coincides with a growing interest in crisis and activist mapping, a practice that blends the capabilities of the geoweb with humanitarian assistance and campaigning. Based on empirical observation, case studies and interviews, this article analyses the emergence of digital cartography as a new paradigm in activism and humanitarianism by examining how two platforms-Ushahidi and InfoAmazonia-use maps. Ushahidi was created in 2008 in Kenya, marking the beginning of geoactivism, which employs digital cartography and often crowdsourced data to provide alternative narratives and spaces for communication and action. InfoAmazonia-dedicated to environmental issues and human rights in the Amazon region-was created in 2012. Since then, other geoactivist initiatives proliferated, presenting three different outcomes in the shape of a paradigm shift, several disruptions and criticism. This study examines these consequences, scrutinising how humanitarianism and activism-as fields of power and knowledge-are being reconfigured by new cartographic practices.

Resumo: Esse artigo apresenta os relatos de experiências do Clube de Robótica de uma escola da rede particular de ensino do Rio de Janeiro. O Clube de Robótica, atende os alunos do 5º ao 7º ano do Ensino fundamental como atividade extraclasse. Utilizamos o método de pesquisação durante as atividades desenvolvidas, sendo observados o grupo de alunos com idade entre 9 e 12 anos. A proposta dessa pesquisa foi investigar como o uso da Robótica Educacional pode influenciar no processo de aprendizagem dos alunos, no que se refere aos aspectos relacionados à autonomia, criatividade, relacionamento interpessoal, organização e raciocínio lógico. A partir das observações do "Clube de Robótica" foi possível constatar a inserção da robótica educacional como elemento mediador do processo de ensino-aprendizagem.
