This study was conducted at four localities (Maseef, Naseem, Oleya and Industrial City) in Riyadh city, KSA to determine the effect of increased tropospheric gases on responses of in situ soil respiration (Rs) of wheat (Triticum aestivum L. cv. Giza 68), broad bean (Vicia faba L. cv. Lara), kidney bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L. cv. Giza 3) and pea (Pisum sativum L. cv. Perfection) rhizosphere soil. These plants were grown to a full-season in pots to recieve four air quality localities treatments. Daily mean of O 3 , SO 2 , NO 2 and CO 2 concentrations were recorded by portable gas analyzers in the center of studied localities. The Rs values were measured monthly before seed germination, during all growth stages and after harvesting (October, December, February, April and June) at three times during the day (morning, noon and afternoon) for each stage. The maximum values recorded for O 3 in mid June, 2007 were 39, 77, 95 and 166 nL L −1 , in Maseef, Naseem, Olea and Industrial City localities, respectively. Significant decreases in Rs were observed for all polluted localities in compared Maseef site (less polluted). The greatest decreases in Rs were found at Industrial City followed by Naseem and Oleya. More reductions in Rs were observed for the Industrial City treatments during flowering and grainfill stages, while normal respiration at Maseef area was recorded. This study concluded that O 3 injury can reduce the R s by decreasing the activities and reactions in soil supporting plants.

ABSTRAK : Telah dilakukan perancangan kinerja re-heater untuk mengurangi konsentrasi gas buang CO yang dihasikan dari knalpot tersebut dengan metode konjugate gradien. Dari metode tersebut diperoleh desain knalpot dengan panjang dan diameter re-heater sebesar masing-masing 0.2 m dan 0.12 m. Setelah diuji pada mobil Toyota Kijang produksi tahun 1990, knalpot tersebut mampu mengurangi emisi CO 0,35 %, CO2 14,6 % dan HC 76,29 %. Selain itu, desain knalpot tersebut juga mampu mengurangi kebisingan sekitar 3,79% pada saat putaran mesin stabil dan 3,00% pada saat putaran mesin ditingkatkan.

With the decline in oil discoveries during the last decades it is believed that EOR technologies will play a key role to meet the energy demand in years to come. This paper presents a comprehensive review of EOR status and opportunities to increase final recovery factors in reservoirs ranging from extra heavy oil to gas condensate. Specifically, the paper discusses EOR status and opportunities organized by reservoir lithology (sandstone and carbonates formations and turbiditic reservoirs to a lesser extent) and offshore and onshore fields. Risk and rewards of EOR methods including growing trends in recent years such as CO 2 injection, high pressure air injection (HPAI) and chemical flooding are addressed including a brief overview of CO 2 -EOR project economics.

One of the major policies in response to global climate change is reduction of green house gases emission. Community forests of Nepal are acting as major sources and sink of green house gases, in spite of providing socio-economic benefits to the user groups. There is a lack of information on whether community forests address the socio-economic disparity of user groups, and how it affects opportunity cost and willingness to pay to the forest users groups. Focusing on how the socio-economic conditions of forest users affect forest management, opportunity cost and willingness to pay; and effect of carbon trading mechanism and discounting on the cost benefit ratio, this study was carried out in one CF in western Nepal. The data collection methods included carbon stock measurement, household survey, focus group discussion and key informant interview. Study has shown that most of the forest users are in medium and poor economic classes and female involvement in forest conservation and management was remarkable. Poor people had high dependency on forest product and are most likely affected in terms of opportunity cost. Rich people were willing to pay more to sustain forest ecosystem services. Benefit cost ratio measured directly with and without discounting was 3.91 and 2.97, respectively. The findings of the present study indicate that the community forests users groups are benefitted from the current state of management.

OBJECTIVE. Sensory modulation issues have a significant impact on participation in daily life. Moreover, understanding phenotypic variation in sensory modulation dysfunction is crucial for research related to defining homogeneous groups and for clinical work in guiding treatment planning. We thus evaluated the new Sensory Processing Scale (SPS) Assessment.

Özet: Dağcılık tırmanma sporudur ve yürüyüş, kaya tırmanışı, buz tırmanışı ve kayaklı dağcılığı içerir. Dağcılık sporu, insanların Alp Dağları'nda zevk için tırmanmaya başlamalarıyla doğmuştur. Başlangıçta çok az sayıda insanın dağlara tırmanmasına karşın, ilk dağcılık kulüplerinin kuruluşundan sonra dağlara tırmanma Avrupa ülkelerinde, özellikle İngiltere, Almanya, Avusturya, İtalya ve Fransa'da popüler bir rekreasyonel aktivite olmuştur. Günümüzde dünyanın her yerinde milyonlarca insan dağcılık, kaya tırmanışı ve doğa yürüyüşü yapmaktadır. Dağcılar, tırmanmak için sık sık, yaşadıkları yerden başka bölgelere ya da ülkelere seyahat etmektedirler. Bu yüzden dağcılık, sadece kitlesel bir spor aktivitesi değil, aynı zamanda kitlesel bir turizm hareketi olmuştur. Turizme yönelik dağcılığın popülerliği son 35 yıldır büyük bir gelişme göstermiştir. Bu turizm, Alpler ve Kayalık Dağları gibi geleneksel yerlerden, böylesi faaliyetler için o güne kadar büyük ölçüde dokunulmamış Orta Asya'nın Himalaya/Karakurum Dağları'na, Kafkaslar'a, Andlar'a ve hatta Antarktika'daki dağlık alanlara yayılmıştır. Dağ turizmi, turizm ekonomisinin hızla gelişen bir sektörüdür. Dağlık alanların gelişmesine önemli katkı yapmış ve halen yapmaktadır. Fakat aynı zamanda kontrolsüz dağ turizmi, pek çok dağlık alanın doğal ve kültürel değerlerinin bozulmasına neden olmuş ve olmaya da devam etmektedir. Hızla şehirleşen dünyada, dağlar sadece güzel manzaralara, doğal ve kültürel çeşitliliğe sahip oldukları için değil, aynı zamanda modern yaşamın geriliminden kaçış imkanı sağladığı için de önde gelen turistik mekanlardır.Ancak, uzun vadede dağların çekiciliği ve çeşitliliğinin korunması, kaynakların istikrarlı, öngörülü ve sürdürülebilir yönetimine dayanacaktır. Bu yüzden, dağlık alanların yönetiminde, turistlerin istekleri, yerel halkın ihtiyaçları ve doğal kaynakların korunması arasında özenli bir denge sağlamak için çaba gösterilmelidir.

Nowadays use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has increased. LPG is an asphyxiating, volatile and highly flammable gas. In a LPG leak situation, potential health accidents are increased either by inhalation or by combustion of the gas. On the other hand, carbon monoxide (CO) is a toxic gas that comes mainly from combustion in car engines. Breathing CO-polluted air can cause dizziness, fainting, breathing problems, and sometimes death. To prevent health accidents, including explosions, in open or closed environments, remote and real-time monitoring of the concentration levels of CO and LPG gases has become a necessity. The aim of this work is to demonstrate the use of Internet of Things (IoT) techniques to design and build a telemetry system to monitor in real-time the concentration of GLP and CO gases in the surrounding air. To implement this work, as central hardware there is a microcontroller, CO and PLG sensors on the electronic station. Besides, Amazon Web Services (AWS) was used as an IoT platform and data storage in the cloud. The main result was a telematics system to monitor in real time the concentrations of both GLP and CO gases, whose data is accessible from any device with internet access through a website. Field tests have been successful and have shown that the proposed system is an efficient and low-cost option.

Öz:. Kuralıkla ilgili yapılan çalışmalar, genelde geleneksel yöntemlere dayanmaktadır. Geleneksel yöntemler ile yapılan çalışmalar önemli bir boşluğu doldurmaktadır. Fakat iklime ait verilerin, uzun zamana ait olmamaları ve dar alanları kapsamada yetersiz olmalarından dolayı kuraklık gibi kompleks bir olayın izlenmesi için tek başına yeterli değildir. Kuraklığın lokasyonu ve şiddetini belirlemek için uydu görüntüleri aracılığı ile iklim verilerinin zenginleştirilmesi ve mevcut kuraklık koşullarının tam, güncel ve ayrıntılı bir biçimde izlenmesi büyük bir gerekliliktir. Bu çalışmada MODIS uydusu TERRA platformuna ait 16 günlük ve aylık zamansal, 250 m ve 1 km mekânsal çözünürlüğe sahip uydu verileri kullanılarak kuraklık analizi yapılmıştır. MODIS verilere farklı yöntemler uygulanarak elde edilen kuraklık modelleri birbiri ile kıyaslanmıştır. Böylelikle hem kuraklık hakkında elde edilen bilgiler teyit edilmiştir hem de hangi yöntemin kurak koşulları daha iyi yansıttığı sorusuna cevap olunmuştur. Çalışmamızda cevap olunan sorular, uydu-tabanlı bitki indekslerinin, kuraklığı anlamada ve önceden tahmin etmede önemli kolaylıklar sağladığını göstermektedir.

Öz: Planlama, yönetim ve yatırımlar sürecinde kullanıcı tercihlerinin, akademik ve uygulamaya yönelik uzmanların çalışmalarıyla birleşmesi, planlama ve uygulama çalışmalarının devamı ve başarısında büyük önem taşımaktadır. Günümüzde rekreasyon ve turizm konusunda sürdürülebilirliğin sağlanabilmesi için akılcı planlama ve yönetim çalışmaları doğrultusunda alternatifler geliştirilmektedir. Bu alternatifler ve planlamayönetim yaklaşımları alanın özelliklerine, ekonomik değerine ve kullanıcı tercihlerine göre belirlenmektedir. Alan kullanım tiplerinin, değişimlerin, planlama ve yönetim yaklaşımlarının alana kattığı değeri belirlemek bu açıdan büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu makalede, Dogu Akdeniz’in birçok kıyı bölgesinde, tarih çaglarında yükseldigi bilinen kıyı çizgilerinin
bir degerlendirmesi yapılmıstır. Yunanistan’dan Levant’a kadar uzanan alandaki bazı yükselmis kıyı çizgilerinin
klimatik kökenli östatik deniz seviyesi degisimlerinin degil, Geç Holosen’de meydana gelmis sismotektonik yer
degistirmelerin ürünü oldugu uzun bir zamandan beri bilinmektedir. Girit Adası’nın batı kıyılarnda, Sikliye
Adasında, Yunan Adalarında, Korint Körfezinde, Teselya’da, Alanya’da ve Levant kıyılarında bulunan
yükselmis kıyı çizgileri, radyokarbon yöntemi kullanılarak MS 4. yüzyılın ortaları ile MS 6. yüzyılın ortaları
arasındaki iki yüzyıllık zaman dilimine tarihlenmistir. Hem tarihi kaynaklar, hem de jeomorfolojik (yükselmis
çentikler, benchler vb.) ve biyolojik (Chthamalus, Dendropoma petraeum, Lithophaga, Neogoniolithon notarisii,
Oyster, Serpulid, Vermetid vb.) deniz seviyesi göstergelerinden elde edilen veriler, bu tarihler arasında, Dogu
Akdeniz’deki en az 1500 km uzunlugundaki bir mesafede, Erken Bizans Tektonik Paroksizması olarak
adlandırılan yüksek bir sismik aktivite döneminin yasandıgını göstermektedir. Kıyı çizgilerinin ortalama olarak
0.5 ila 1 metre yükselmesine muhtemelen Afrika plakasıyla Ege-Anadolu mikroplakası arasındaki çarpısma
süreçleri neden olmustur. Okyanusal Afrika plakasının Güney Ege Yayı altında yaptıgı ani bindirmeyle büyük
depremler meydana gelmis, Dogu Akdeniz havzasını sınırlayan çesitli litosfer blokları yer degistirmis ve havza
hızlı bir sekilde daralmıstır.

Özet: Bu makalede Türkiye'de doğrudan yabancı sermaye (DYS) yatırımları tarihsel ve bölgesel açıdan incelenmektedir. Küreselleşme çağında yabancı sermayenin önemi giderek artarken, çokuluslu şirketlerin (ÇUŞ) büyüyen rolü doğrultusunda dünyada doğrudan yabancı yatırımlarda son derece önemli dönüşümler yaşanmaktadır. Türkiye'de ilk DYS yatırımlarının başladığı Osmanlı imparatorluğundan günümüze kadar geçen süreçte yabancı sermayeli firmaların nerelere, ne miktarda ve hangi sektörlere yatırım yaptıkları incelenmiş, aynı zaman da hangi ülkelerin Türkiye'yi yatırım için tercih ettikleri belirlenmiştir. Cumhuriyet dönemi boyunca DYS yatırımları üç ayrı dönem şeklinde ele alınmış ve her bir dönemin yabancı sermayeye karşı olan siyasal ve iktisadî yaklaşımları ana hatlarıyla açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. In the Grevena area of W. Macedonia, manganese oxide mineralization was found hosted within a shale-chert formation (radiolarian cherts – calcschists) overlying spilitized diabases of the Pindos ophiolite complex. The mineralization is either massive within the cherts or forming small pockets, and disseminated in the calcschists forming nodules (up to 3 cm) or concretions (<1cm). Manganite, locally replaced by pyrolusite, microcrystalline quartz and chalcedony are the main mineral constituents. Chemically, the studied Mn-mineralization and associated lithologies are very similar to those formed by submarine effusive and hydrothermal processes in modern oceans. Hence, the Grevena area Mn-mineralization which is spatially associated with the Pindos ophiolites, originated along sea-floor spreading centers within the Neo-Tethtys Ocean. The high Mn/Fe ratios of the mineralization (17-22) compared to that of the associated lithologies (0,01-0,35) denote that the fractionation of Mn and Fe occurred before of their precipitation. The higher concentrations of Cu, Ni, Co and Zn, compared to the modern metalliferous ocean formations are attributed to the hydrogenous imput of these trace metals. This suggests that the Mn oxides accumulated relatively slowly, which is consistent with deposition away from the centers of hydrothermal discharge.

Antakya and its surroundings are in the effect area of the active Dead Sea Fault. Therefore, it has been subjected to many destructive earthquakes in the historical periods. However, there has not been any earthquake to discharge the stress in the last 135 years. This situation increases the risk of destructive earthquake day by day. In this research, the size of the seismic risk has been studied by examining the sismotectonic and sismitity of the Antakya city. The ground on which the city is located were classified as the poorest, poor, somewhat sound, medium sound, and sound grounds according to the possible reactions to be shown in a possible earthquake based on the tectonical, litological, geomorphological, and hydrogeological properties as well as the discontinuity surface definitions of the litological units, Schmidt hammer reaction counts, and point load strength. A ground strength map of the city has been developed based on this classification. Current settlings are mostly located on the poorest and poor grounds according to the map developed in the study. Therefore, future settlings have to be constructed firstly on the topographically convenient parts of the sound and medium sound grounds. However, since these grounds are not sufficient for future settlings, less sound grounds should be recommended.

We investigated the effect of microbial activity on the chemistry of hydrothermal fluids related to the Vicano-Cimino system, central Italy. The database included the composition and d 13 C CO 2 and d 13 C CH 4 values for soil gas from an area characterized by intense degassing of fluids having a deep origin. The d 13 C CH 4 values along vertical profiles in the soil indicated that CH 4 was controlled by microbial oxidation occurring at shallow (< 50 cm) depth, where free O 2 was available. This was consistent with the vertical gradients of CH 4 , H 2 S and O 2 concentrations. The d 13 C CO 2 values in soil gas, characterized by a composition similar to that of the hydrothermal fluids, were not significantly influenced by biodegradation. On the contrary, gas strongly affected by air contamination showed a significant d 13 C CO 2 fractionation. Microbial activity caused strong consumption of hydrothermal alkanes, alkenes, cyclics and hydrogenated halocarbons, whereas benzene was recalcitrant. Oxygenated compounds from hydrocarbon degradation consisted of alcohols, with minor aldehydes, ketones and carboxylic acids. A predominance of alcohols at a high rate of degassing flux, corresponding to a short residence time of hydrothermal gas within the soil, indicated incomplete oxidation. N-bearing compounds were likely produced by humic substances in the soil and/or related to contamination by pesticides, whereas a-pinene traced air entering the soil. The study demonstrates that microbial communities in the soil play an important role for mitigating the release to the atmosphere of C-bearing gases, especially CH 4 , through diffuse soil degassing, a mechanism that in central Italy significantly contributes to the discharge of CO 2 -rich gas from deep sources.

It is important to characterize the IC engine for emissions of an automobile and thus provide a runtime feedback to vehicle design engineers especially in academic domain to improve the performance towards a greener vehicle. The instrument described in this paper is a simple equipment with a unique extensible telescopic tube arrangement for adjustable passive temperature reduction and thus providing automatic temperature gradient as per the need of different sensors deployed. The instrument currently has capability to monitor and log volumetric concentrations of CO, NO x and CO 2 as well as humidity measurement. A temperature sensor has been employed with each gas sensor for temperature correction. Readings from all the sensors are processed in real time on the onboard microcontroller and are also relayed over a wireless channel as per the need. The instrument can be fitted to exhaust pipe using minimalistic support structure and thus used for run-time monitoring of the exhaust. A validation of the instrument has been done in no load condition on BAJA mini vehicle of IIT Bombay against 2 industrial grade exhaust analyzers (by NETEL, India) and results matched closely

Değişim turizmin karakterinde bulunmaktadır. Son yıllarda (1970'li yıllardan sonra) birçok faktörün etkisiyle, turizm olayında normalden kaçıştan öğrenmeye doğru bir eğilim yaşanmaktadır. Bu eğilimle birlikte turizm olayına katılanlar doğa ve kültüre önem vermeye başlamışlardır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, kültür turizminin gelişen bir parçası olan miras turizmini ele almak ve Türk turizminin gündemine taşımaktır. Miras turizmi miras kültür ve doğanın birlikte ele alındığı bir turizm çeşididir. Ancak konunun kapsamlı olması nedeniyle çalışmada miras turizmi yalnızca sosyo-kültürel açıdan ele alınmaktadır. Çalışma sonucu görülmüştür ki konunun gerek kapsamlı oluşu ve gerekse bu konuda öznel davranılması nedeniyle her geçen gün yeni bir turizm çeşidi ortaya çıkabilmektedir. Konuya Türkiye açısından bakıldığında, ülkemizin uzun tarihi geçmişi nedeniyle, zengin sosyo-kültürel miras turizmi çekiciliklerine sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Dolayısıyla Türkiye turizminin, ortaya çıkan bu yeni eğilimden istifade edebilmesi için mekânın yeniden yorumlanmasında fayda bulunmaktadır.

This system is able to calculate air quality inside and outside the vehicle. Helping/customers know when their in-vehicle air quality is good. This means purified air and peace of mind for drive and passenger alike. The architecture of Air Quality system using Raspberry Pi4 interfacing with dif erent sensors and collected information of sensor uploaded into cloud. Recent trend is Internet of Things (IoT) technology and it is a popular worldwide system. Present days in Industries, Home Automation, Agriculture systems, Security systems and Drowns also uses IoT technology of “smart devices”. Sensors are collected information and connect with atmosphere parameters and interact with client and other systems. In this proposed model, several sensors are connected through an embedded system that collects data from the surrounding locations. In the current model, Arduino Uno, Raspberry Pi4 micro-controller plays an important role, to which various sensors like CCS811 CO2 Air Quality Sensor, DHT 11 Temperature and Humidity Sensor, Grove - Air Quality Sensor v1.3 are connected. The sensors are detected the level of carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, temperature, humidity and dust particles present in the environment. Further, the sensor data are stored on a local server and excavated whenever necessary. Moreover, Python codes for dif erent mathematical formulae are written which are used in the ThingSpeak Finally, by the ThingSpeak, the various results are extracted and analyzed to check the environment condition.

Biochar has been recently proposed as a management strategy to improve crop productivity and global warming mitigation. However, the effect of such approach on soil greenhouse gas fluxes is highly uncertain and few data from field experiments are available. In a field trial, cultivated with wheat, biochar was added to the soil (3 or 6 kg m(-2)) in two growing seasons (2008/2009 and 2009/2010) so to monitor the effect of treatments on microbial parameters 3 months and 14 months after char addition. N(2)O, CH(4) and CO(2) fluxes were measured in the field during the first year after char addition. Biochar incorporation into the soil increased soil pH (from 5.2 to 6.7) and the rates of net N mineralization, soil microbial respiration and denitrification activity in the first 3 months, but after 14 months treated and control plots did not differ significantly. No changes in total microbial biomass and net nitrification rate were observed. In char treated plots, soil N(2)O fluxes were from 26% to 79% lower than N(2)O fluxes in control plots, excluding four sampling dates after the last fertilization with urea, when N(2)O emissions were higher in char treated plots. However, due to the high spatial variability, the observed differences were rarely significant. No significant differences of CH(4) fluxes and field soil respiration were observed among different treatments, with just few exceptions. Overall the char treatments showed a minimal impact on microbial parameters and GHG fluxes over the first 14 months after biochar incorporation.

Öz: Cadde, bulvar ve yollar, eksiksiz bir metin olarak düşünülen şehirlerin en anlamlı parçalarıdır. Ana metne bağlı bu anlamlı parçalar aynı zamanda geçmiş deneyimleri içerisinde saklayan bellek mekânlarıdır. Geçmiş deneyimlerin adlarda yaşatıldığı düşüncesinden hareket eden bu çalışmada da; şehirlerde yer alan ve şehirsel toponomi (hodonymy) olarak da ifade edilmesi mümkün olan cadde adları, Türkiye şehirleri ölçeğinde irdelenmekte ve bir tipoloji geliştirilmektedir. Çalışmada Türkiye'nin farklı coğrafi bölümlerinde yer alan 24 şehir, örnekleme metodu ile ele alınmaktadır. Çalışmaya konu olan cadde adları şehir planlarından elde edilmiştir. Cumhuriyetin kuruluş felsefesine uygun pek çok sembolik yükle dolu olmasının yanı sıra; güvenlik şartlarındaki değişim, şehirlerin yatay yönde fiziki olarak büyümesi, soy bağları, kültürel yakınlık, siyasi nedenler, şehirlerin nüfus miktarı, arazi kullanımındaki farklılıklar da, Türkiye'deki şehirlerde cadde adlarını etkileyen önemli faktörlerdir. Bu faktörlere bağlı olarak oluşturulan tipoloji, farklı alt başlıklar içermesine karşın, yedi ana başlığa sahiptir. Indoor environmental quality (IEQ) is one of the most important factors that affect the residents of the indoor locations. CO 2 , CO and thermal comfort is the most famous parameters, and IUG is considered as a leader in the pursuit of providing satisfaction for workers. This study aims to identify the impact of the elements of indoor environmental quality on the employees of IUG and to compare these elements with the international recognized standards. This study was conducted on 22 rooms within IUG, where employees spend more 7 hours in their offices during three seasons: winter, and summer, in two stages, the first stage: field work, by measuring the concentration of CO 2 , CO, Humidity and temperature by using the relevant devices, the second stage: designing a questionnaire for exploring the extent of the impact of The study shows the following results: 80% of IUG employees are satisfied with thermal comfort and the concentration of CO is appropriate and less than the standards (9ppm). CO 2 is high in the rooms that rely on centralized air conditioning, and there is a negative relationship between the ventilation ratio and the concentration of CO 2 . There is a significant statistical difference between CO 2 measurements according to seasons these factors on the employees working indoors. The university employees felt the symptoms of health issues related to carbon dioxide concentration. The study concluded that CO 2 , CO concentrations are varied inside the rooms of the university and the environmental awareness of these factors and their effect need to be enforced.

Turkey, being signatory of the World Heritage Convention since 1983 has nine natural and cultural World Heritage sites inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List. Out of these, seven heritage sites have cultural while two have both natural and cultural mix features. The World Heritage in Turkey is facing several problems due to poor management and current land use issues like almost of the developing countries. Most problems of these sites are local or based on specific issues while few are in common at all places. In order to ensure effective management and protection of these sites in Turkey, there is a strong need to formulate new management strategies and policies, after determining and analyzing the current status and related issues in these areas. Therefore, a project was conducted during 2007-08 under title of "Determination of Current Status of the World Heritage Sites in Turkey". In this project Turkey's nine World Heritage sites has been thoroughly analyzed according to specific format to find out the current status and associated problems in this concern. Research findings have provided bases to develop effective management policies and strategies for protection of Turkey's World Heritage in terms of future.

Based on observations made in the research area and on secondary data from various sources, a survey was conducted through questionnaires and analyzed by Geographical Information System. Future implementation of the suggested model would contribute to local development in the underdeveloped districts of Turkey.

Street lighting is an indispensable feature for the night landscape of cities. It is important for road safety, users visual comfort, crime prevention and to augment the perceived personal safety. Realize and maintain an adequate street lighting service is very expensive for municipalities with significant impact on their budgets. For this reason, special attention should be paid to the design of new street lighting systems and to the refurbishment of existing ones, since many of them are inadequate. In light of this it is very important to implement street lighting designs that fulfil lighting requirements avoiding energy waste and light pollution and, at the same time, result economically sustainable for municipalities. In this paper, an original step by step methodology for the lighting, energy and economic analysis of street lighting refurbishment designs has been introduced and explained in detail. The methodology is suitable for use in cities of different sizes. As an applicative example, the methodology has been tested in the town of Pontedera (Italy) and the results are discussed, also providing a sensitivity analysis of the economic feasibility with respect to the variations of electricity prices and investment costs.

Miscible gas flooding using carbon dioxide is currently being investigated as a possible EOR process for a number of United Arab Emirates (UAE) reservoirs. It has a high potential to improve oil recovery in addition to possibly of utilizing most of the carbon dioxide emissions from industrial sources. The major factors affecting implementation of CO2 floods are the availability of CO2 at economic prices (generally within 2-3 $/MSCF) and the net utilization ratio of CO2 per barrel of additional oil recovered. To control the mobility ratio, the Water-Alternating CO2-Gas (WAG) technique is proposed by injecting alternately small solvent [CO2] and water slugs. The slug of water reduces the speed of the solvent and solvent fingering thus improving the mobility ratio of the injected fluids to fluids in place. Using molecular dynamics simulations, we investigate the effects of different nanoconfinements on complex liquids-e.g., colloids or protein solutions-with density anomalies and a liquid-liquid phase transition (LLPT). In all the confinements, we find a strong depletion effect with a large increase in liquid density near the confining surface. If the nanoconfinement is modeled by an ordered matrix of nanoparticles, we find that the anomalies are preserved. On the contrary, if the confinement is modeled by a disordered matrix of nanoparticles, we find a drastically different phase diagram: the LLPT shifts to lower pressures and temperatures, and the anomalies become weaker, as the disorder increases. We find that the density heterogeneities induced by the disordered matrix are responsible for the weakening of the LLPT and the disappearance of the anomalies.

In this work, we investigate the some main electrical and photocurrent properties of the Au/PVA(Co-doped)/n-Si diodes by using current-voltage (I–V) measurements at dark and
various illumination intensity. Two types of diodes with and without Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) (Co-doped) polymeric interfacial layer were fabricated and measured at room temperature.
Results show that the polymeric interfacial layers and series resistance (RS) strongly affect the main electrical parameters of these structures. Also, metal/polymer/semiconductor (MPS)
diode with PVA (Co-doped) interfacial organic layer is very sensitive to the light such that the current in reverse bias region increase by 103-104 times with the increasing illumination
intensity. The open circuit voltage Voc and short-circuit current Isc values of this MPS diode under 100 mW/cm2 illumination intensity were found as 0.28 V and 19.3 micro Angstrom, respectively.

By referring to the fact that corrosion rates alter upon variation of different conditions and no research relevant to Lebanon address corrosion issues yet, this study was conducted based on accurate Lebanese offshore data and water composition. Based on &quot;Alloy Select Software&quot;, identifying the most suitable material from different alloys was revealed, which turned out to be Copper and Aluminum based alloys. Moreover, corrosion rates were detected under different conditions of Temperature, CO₂, and H₂S and then repeated in the presence of a corrosion inhibitor. Results of these studies proved the significant influence of high temperature accompanied with high CO₂ percentage. However, different results concerning low temperature with different percentages of H₂S were obtained.

A new CO 2/CH 4 gas separation process is presented in this paper. Capture of CO 2 from natural gas is carried out using an n-alkane solvent in a conventional physical absorption process. A methodology to find optimal process condition and solvent has been developed using an advanced equation of state (SAFT-VR), process modelling-optimisation software (gPROMS), and detailed process cost estimation. Natural gas feeds containing up to 70% mol/mol of CO 2 can be treated economically using this process. Öz: Farklılık, kentsel yaşamı tanımlayan bir özellik olsa da küreselleşme ve ekonomik yeniden yapılanma günümüz kentlerinde sosyo-mekânsal farklılaşmayı daha da artırmaktadır. Sosyo-ekonomik farklılaşma büyük metropoliten alanlardaki ayrışmanın en önemli unsurudur. Bununla birlikte kentli nüfusun yaş, doğurganlık, aile ve hanehalkı yapısı, eğitim düzeyi ve göç örüntüsü kentsel alanlardaki sosyal yaşam üzerinde merkezi bir öneme sahiptir. Bu nedenle belli grupların kentin belli bölgelerinde yaşamayı tercih etmeleri sonucunda kentsel doku içerisinde demografik farklılaşmayı gösteren örüntüler oldukça belirgindir. 2000 yılı Nüfus ve Bina Sayımları verileri kullanılarak yapılan bu çalışma Ankara kentinde sosyo-mekânsal farklılaşma ve ayrışmayı konu edinmektedir. Çalışmada sosyo-mekânsal örüntülerin oluşumunu sağlayan dinamiklerin ortaya çıkarılması için k-ortalamalar kümeleme yöntemi uygulanmıştır. Air pollution receives one of the prime concerns in India, primarily due to rapid economic growth, industrialization and urbanization with associated increase in energy demands. Lacks of implementation of environmental regulations are contributing to the bad air quality of most of the Indian cities. Air pollutants produced in any air shed are not completely confined, but at time passing all the geographical boundaries, hence donot remain only a problem of urban centers, but spread and affect remote rural areas supporting large productive agricultural land. In environmental parameters the air pollution is measure by taking one or few samples in a day that means there is no information present about the real time air pollution data. This is the main disadvantages of such system. Most of the countries in the world work on the real time bases to monitor the air quality. In this paper we describe use of ZigBee, sensor nodes, GPS to construct distributed system for urban air pollution monitoring and control. ZigBee module and pollution server is interfaced with GPS system to display real-time pollutants levels and there location on a 24h/7 days basis. In this system there are four transmitter (Node1, Node2, Node3, Node4) are present which transmit the different levels of pollutant substance such as CO2, SO2, and NO2 to the receiver node in real time. The system was successfully tested in the G.H.

Şehirlerin büyümesi ve şehirleşme, günümüz dünyasının en önemli olgularından biridir. Üstelik şehirleşmenin, her yerde aynı özellik ve gelişim süreçlerini göstermediği ve yıllar ile birbirinden farklı mekânlar arasında aynı oranı korumadığı da gözlerden kaçmamaktadır. Bu noktada, şehirleşme süreci irdelenen her bir mekânın, bu olgunun sürecine ait önemli bir örneği teşkil ettiği ortaya çıkmaktadır. Ülkemizde şehirleşmenin, en dar anlamda, belli başlı bölgelerde ya da şehirlerde bir nüfus birikimi süreci olarak ortaya çıktığı (Tümertekin,1973:7) bilinse de, her açıdan ülkemizin diğer bölgelerine göre önemli farklılıklar gösteren Marmara Bölgesi'nin şehirleşme sürecinin kalkınma ve gelişmeye koşut olarak bir adım önde süregeldiği aşikârdır. Söz konusu bölgenin Bursa Yöresi'nde kalan İnegöl ilçesi, gerek ülkemizdeki, gerekse Marmara Bölgesi'ndeki şehirleşme sürecine dair ilginç sonuçlar ortaya koymaktadır. Her şeyden önce, günümüzde, ilçede yer alan kasabaların (Alanyurt, Yeniceköy, Kurşunlu, Cerrah, Tahtaköprü ve Oylat) ve İnegöl şehrinin tarihsel perspektifle şehirleşme süreçleri irdelendiğinde, birbirinden farklı dinamiklerin konuya etkisinin ve mekânsal analizlerinin büyük önem taşıdığı sentezlenmektedir. Özellikle şehirleşmede önemli bir aşama olan kasabalaşma sürecinin kırsal durumdan şehirsel hale geçişte yadsınmaması gereken bir "değişim dinamiği" olduğu anlaşılmaktadır.

Çalışmanın amacı yerel yönetimlerin kentsel alandaki kültürel üretimlere ilişkin pratiklerini, kültür merkezlerinin isimlendirilmesi ve buralarda yürütülen faaliyetler üzerinden analiz etmektir. İktidarlar kurumsal ve ideolojik çerçeveleri kullanarak insanların düşüncelerini ve yaşam tarzlarını etkilerler. Bu etkileme ulusal düzeyde yürütüldüğü gibi yerel ölçekte farklı ideolojiye sahip belediyeler tarafından da hayata geçirilebilmektedir. Hemen tüm siyasi partilere mensup belediyeler kendi ideolojik yaklaşımlarını çeşitli araçlar ile topluma kabul ettirerek kentsel mekânda kimlik inşa sürecini yürütmektedir. Belediyelere bağlı olarak hizmet veren kültür merkezleri de kentsel kimlik inşa sürecinin önemli araçlarındandır. Araştırmada, kültür merkezi yöneticileri ve kursiyerleriyle yapılan görüşmelerle elde edilen nitel veriler içerik analizi tekniği kullanılarak derinlikli bir şekilde analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda hem bu mekânlar için tercih eden isimler hem de burada yürütülen faaliyetlerin kentsel kimliğin üretimi ve yeniden üretiminde belediyeler tarafından etkin bir şekilde kullanıldığı anlaşılmıştır.

Çalışmada, Türkiye'deki 111 istasyonun yıllık ve mevsimlik yağış toplamı ve yağış yoğunluğu dizilerindeki uzun süreli değişiklikler ve eğilimler, zaman ve alandaki özellikleri dikkate alınarak çözümlendi. Yağış verilerinin homojenliği Kruskal-Wallis türdeşlik sınaması, yağış toplamı ve yoğunluğu dizilerindeki eğilimler ise, Mann-Kendall sıra ilişki katsayısı sınaması yöntemleri ile incelendi. Makalenin başlıca bulguları şöyle özetlenebilir: (1) Yıllık toplam yağışlarda ve yağış yoğunluğu tutarlarında belirgin olan azalma eğilimleri, Akdeniz ve Karadeniz yağış rejimi bölgelerinde daha kuvvetlidir. (2) Kış mevsimi toplam yağışlarında belirgin bir azalma (kuraklaşma) eğilimi bulunmasına karşın, ilkbahar, yaz ve sonbahar toplam yağışlarında genel bir artış eğilimi egemendir. (3) Yağış yoğunluğu tutarları, tüm mevsimlerde bir azalma gösterme eğilimindedir ve bu azalma, toplam yağışlarda bulunan azalmadan hem alansal dağılışın tutarlılığı hem de istatistiksel anlamlılığın büyüklüğü açılarından daha kuvvetlidir. (4) Kış toplam yağışlarında gözlenen azalma eğilimi Akdeniz'de, yağış yoğunluğu tutarlarındaki azalma eğilimi ise Karadeniz yağış rejimi bölgesinde en kuvvetlidir. (5) Yağış yoğunluğundaki azalma eğilimi, yaklaşık 1950 yılından sonra kuvvetlenmiştir.

The wearable computing and treatment system are used to protect the construction workers from toxic gases such as carbon-mono oxide (CO) and methane (CH 4 ) poisoning. These poisoning are significant problem for construction workers employed in gold mining and gold cyanidation. A pulse oximetry sensor has been integrated into a typical prototype to allow continuous and non-invasive monitoring of workers blood gas saturation levels. These sensor systems monitor the condition of the workers automatically by sensing CO and CH4 level of the environment around the workplace and as well as individual heart beat of the worker. The sensor output is signal conditioned and it is digitized by using an analog to digital converter. The Microcontroller controls the operation of the ADC and the digital output of the ADC is transferred to the input port of the microcontroller. Then the transmitter section transmits that digital output to the receiver section. When the CO content of the environment goes above a threshold level the microcontroller automatically turns ON the Buzzer to indicate the critical condition. In the receiver section will be having GSM Modem to send the condition that presents in the workplace to the supervisor.

Knowledge of the products originating from the subcontinental lithospheric mantle (SCLM) is crucial for constraining the geochemical features and evolution of the mantle. This study investigated the chemistry and isotope composition (noble gases and CO 2) of fluid inclusions (FI) from selected mantle xenoliths originating from Wilcza Góra (Lower Silesia, southwest Poland), with the aim of integrating their petrography and mineral chemistry. Mantle xenoliths are mostly harzburgites and sometimes bear amphiboles, and are brought to the surface by intraplate alkaline basalts that erupted outside the north-easternmost part of the Eger (Ohře) Rift in Lower Silesia. Olivine (Ol) is classified into two groups based on its forsterite content: (1) Fo 88.9−91.5 , which accounts for a fertile-to-residual mantle, and (2) Fo 85.5−88.1 , which indicates large interactions with circulating (basic) melts. This dichotomy is also related to orthopyroxene (Opx) and clinopyroxene (Cpx), which show two ranges of Mg# values (87-90 and 91-93, respectively) and clear evidence of recrystallization. CO 2 predominates within FI, followed by N 2. The δ 13 C of mantle CO 2 varies between −4.7‰ and −3.1‰, which mostly spans the MORB range (−8‰ < δ 13 C < −4‰). The 3 He/ 4 He ratio is 6.7-6.9 Ra in Cpx, 6.3-6.8 Ra in Opx, and 5.9-6.2 Ra in Ol. These values are within the range proposed for European SCLM (6.3±0.3 Ra). The decrease in 3 He/ 4 He from Cpx to Ol is decoupled from the He concentration, and excludes any diffusive fractionation from FI. The chemistry of FI entrapped in Ol indicates that the mantle is depleted by variable extents of partial melting, while that of Opx and Cpx suggests the overprinting of at least one metasomatic event. According to Matusiak-Małek et al. (2017), Cpx, Opx, and amphiboles were added to the original harzburgite by carbonated hydrous silicate melt related to Cenozoic volcanism. This process resulted in entrapment of CO 2-rich inclusions whose chemical and isotope composition resembles that of metasomatizing fluids. We argue that FI data reflect a mixing between two endmembers: (1) the residual mantle, resulting from partial melting of European SCLM, and (2) the metasomatic agent, which is strongly He-depleted and characterized by MORB-like features.
