Children's Drawings

Drawing is one of the few surviving forms of human expression from prehistoric times (Lange-Küttner, 2020). It is also considered an enjoyable, playful, and entertaining activity for children and represents an important means of non-verbal communication for them (Longobardi et al., 2022). For this reason, children’s drawings have attracted the interest of professionals working with children. The developmental psychologists Piaget and Inhelder (1956) used the technical details of drawings to decipher children’s space concepts, while Goodenough (1926) counted details and found them to correlate with IQ. Psychoanalysts have tried to interpret children’s psychological dynamics through the graphic
characteristics and symbolic contents of their drawings (Kramer, 1979). In general, it is believed that drawing can be a window into the child’s inner world, allowing to capture feelings, representations, and perceptions related to a specific topic of investigation (Bozzato et al., 2021; Kallitsoglou et al., 2022). Therefore, it is considered that through drawing, the child does not represent a realistic copy of the external world but rather what they feel, think, and know about the surrounding reality (Quaglia et al., 2015).

O estudo ora apresentado tem como pressuposto básico que rabiscar, desenhar e escrever não são simples atos mecânicos, ao acaso. Cada gesto e movimento têm significações simbólicas, capazes de contribuir para o desenvolvimento humano. Referimo-nos ao grafismo infantil, pesquisado, analisado e interpretado por teóricos da psicologia, da arte e da educação. Dessa forma, nosso objetivo é possibilitar o diálogo entre os vários pontos de vista de alguns dos pesquisadores dessa área, a fim de suscitar reflexões de psicólogos, educadores, pais e mães sobre o grafismo infantil como meio de linguagem da criança.

La présente étude cherche à identifier le traumatisme des enfants vivants au milieu traumatique à travers le dessin. Les auteurs sont partis des hypothèses selon lesquelles : (i) Le dessin que présente les enfants exposerait les traumatise des enfants. (ii) Les couleurs noirs et rouges seront le plus utilisées par l’enfant. Pour ce faire, les auteurs ont usé de la méthode d’observation appuyée par la technique de dessin libre sur 50 enfants. L’analyse a révélé que plus d’enfants ont dessiné les maisons brulées, les hommes amputés des jambes et têtes et les couleurs noirs et rouges étaient les plus utilisées. Ainsi, les auteurs suggèrent aux psychologues cliniciens la prise en charge de ses enfants traumatisés et au gouvernement de pacifier les Zones insécurisés.

The Archive includes drawings made by the pupils of the teacher Cesare Ghezzi, in the primary school of San Quirico, from 1958 to 1994. They are not the drawings of grass and flowers, of houses and bell towers, there are no clouds and the anthropomorphized sun that smile and greet. These are life experiences in which matter has descended into its essential icastic form. The schooling of the teacher is, indeed, a pedagogical path in which figurative iconism has helped children to see the surrounding world and to look at it in a free, critical and alternative to the common places of current looks. That painting gives shape to the intimate world of the child and to his so much unknowing.

The urban environment is a product of many tangible and intangible factors for communities, involving activities, spaces, and users of different age groups. Stakeholder consultation has become an essential part of envisaging any urban space. In general practice, mostly adults’ opinions
and suggestions are taken into account, and children are sidelined, even if the issues are related to children. Children are an integral part of the present urbanizing world and are some of its most sensitive and affected users. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child recognizes three P’s: provision, protection, and participation. The third, participation, is a crucial dimension of creating a healthier environment, but it has largely been neglected. The drawing technique is among the methods to gather information directly through the children’s participatory approach. It has been observed that children prefer to express themselves by drawing rather than answering questions and find it easy and enjoyable. This research incorporates drawing as a methodological tool for identifying children’s expectations and understanding their preferences about their ideal neighborhood park. A total of 80 children aged between 6 and 15 years from planned zones of Lucknow city were selected for the research. The results derived from the content and co-relation data analysis techniques highlight that children emphasized physical, perceptional, cognitive, emotional, and social parameters for developing a child-friendly environment in parks and open spaces.

Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaöğretim ve ilköğretim matematik öğretmeni adaylarının matematik okuryazarlığı özyeterlik düzeylerini incelemektir. Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, bir devlet üniversitesinde pedagojik formasyon eğitimi almakta olan 67 fen-edebiyat fakültesi öğrencisi ve ilköğretim matematik öğretmenliği programında öğrenim gören 85 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak matematik okuryazarlığı öz-yeterlik ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen veriler, ortalama, t-testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi yardımıyla analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda, ilköğretim ve ortaöğretim matematik öğretmeni adaylarının matematik okuryazarlığı özyeterlik düzeylerinin farklılaştığı, ancak bu düzeyin cinsiyete, okul öncesi eğitime ve akademik başarıya göre farklılaşmadığı gözlemlenmiştir.

In the aftermath of Franco's regime, the Association for the Recovery of Historical Memory (ARMH) led efforts to exhume mass graves, reigniting suppressed memories of the Spanish Civil War. This paper explores a unique facet of historical recovery—children's drawings from colonias infantiles, refugee colonies established during the war. Analyzing 11 of these drawings, this research delves into the profound impact of war on Spanish children and their artistic expressions. Produced by children evacuated and separated from families, these drawings bridge personal experiences and historical narrative. Unlike conventional testimonies, the vivid and haunting imagery provides emotional evidence, eluding complete narrativization and respecting the obscurity of traumatic memory. These drawings become crucial historical sources, offering an aesthetic understanding of the children's experiences, and reflecting broader societal trauma under the Franco dictatorship. This research emphasizes the importance of incorporating artistic testimonies into discussions on Spanish historical memory. The emotional narratives contribute to a deeper understanding of the Civil War's impact, challenging historical amnesia enforced by Franco. By humanizing victims' experiences, especially through a generational lens, the drawings provide a means to commemorate, reflect, and break free from Francoist violence. As Spain grapples with its violent past, these children's drawings emerge as powerful tools for fostering empathy, healing collective wounds, and advancing the nation towards a more open and honest reckoning with its history.

Drawing on recent culture-psychological and cognitive studies on visual perception and processing, this article aims to show how anthropology can benefit from and make a contribution to the study of visual representations. As opposed to common approaches in anthropology, which focus on semantics and content of visual representations, the authors of this study turn the attention from content to the problem of form. The study of form(s) of visual representations provides additional, possibly new, ways how to grasp normally latent, verbally mute, and unreflected aspects of human experience. Furthermore, if culture-psychological findings are correct and the form of visual representations is an indicator of culturally induced cognitive style, and thus of self-construal in a given cultural context, then the study of form of visual representations may well lead to inquiries in how different social and cultural context influences people's visual thinking and representation. Assuming that the form of visual representations differs from one cultural context to another, the authors address the problem of how to relate the difference in cultural and social practices with the differences in cognition and visualisation. As empirical evidence serves, on the one hand, the authors' analysis of drawings made by children in Siberia, and, on the other hand, their recent quantitative pilot study that assessed the perceptual processing and the style of children drawing in the far north of Russia. The article reports on the procedure, findings, and theoretical and methodological conclusions of this study and offers some insights for further research.

La littérature enfantine ivoirienne s’est développée depuis peu d’année en Côte d’Ivoire. En tant que moyen de communication, le livre littéraire pour enfants peut, par son contenu, servir à transmettre des valeurs et des normes de conduite propres à la société ivoirienne. Ces valeurs et normes constituent le fondement archétypal de la construction de l’imaginaire social de l’enfant et servent à sa socialisation. Cette étude qui a porté sur dix livres littéraires ivoiriens pour enfants, s’est efforcée, par une analyse du texte et des images, de faire ressortir les normes et valeurs véhiculées à travers les signes, images et symboles présents dans ces livres. Nous avons été amenée à constater que la recherche du bonheur semble être une des valeurs clés. Ce bonheur s’acquiert, selon les auteurs étudiés, par le respect d’institutions telles que la famille, la nature, la tradition, l’amitié. Le livre littéraire pour enfant constitue donc un moyen de socialisation avec des images et des références très proches de la réalité des enfants et une orientation tournée vers le recours à l’expérience.

Humans have had to immigrate from one country to another throughout the history because of economic problems, warfare, safety, etc. Warfare and migration definitely bring about traumatic incidents for all humanity. However, they are much more destructive for children. The current study aims to review the warfare-and-migration-themed drawings of the Syrian and Palestinian children living in Turkey as refugees in comparison to the Turkish children's drawings. A case study design was employed as a qualitative methodology. 19 Syrian, 6 Palestinian and 25 Turkish children aged between 6-10 years studying in various primary schools in City of Istanbul made up the study sample. Children were asked to draw pictures of warfare and migration, observed and interviewed for data collection. Content analysis was used to determine the themes present in the qualitative data. The themes identified in the drawings were discussed referring to the literature and recommendations were made.

Στην παρούσα εργασία ερευνήσαμε το παιδικό ιχνογράφημα ως μέσο έκφρασης παιδιών πρώτης σχολικής ηλικίας. Σε δείγμα 30 μαθητών Α΄ τάξης δημοτικού σχολείου (ανάμεσά τους και 7 μαθητές που παρακολουθούν Τμήμα Ένταξης) συγκρίναμε τα ιχνογραφήματα της οικογένειάς τους ως προς το φύλο τους, το μορφωτικό επίπεδο των γονέων τους , την ολοκλήρωση των μορφών της ζωγραφιάς τους, την εγγύτητα των μελών της οικογένειας, τις απαντήσεις τους στις 6 τυποποιημένες ερωτήσεις του πρωτοκόλλου και τέλος συγκρίναμε τις ζωγραφιές των παιδιών τυπικής και ειδικής εκπαίδευσης. Η διάρθρωση της εργασίας έχει ως εξής: ορισμός του παιδικού ιχνογραφήματος, παρουσίαση δημοσιευμένων ερευνών στον Ελλαδικό χώρο με θέμα το ιχνογράφημα και τα αποτελέσματά τους και τέλος η δική μας έρευνα με τα ερωτήματα που θέσαμε, τα ευρήματα και τα συμπεράσματά μας. Bu çalışmanın amacı ilkokul öğrencilerinin çevre konusunda çizdikleri resimlerle çevreye yönelik algılarını belirlemektir. Bu amaçla Samsun İl merkezinde iki ilkokul çalışma için seçilmiş ve seçilen ilkokullardaki birinci sınıflardan 38, ikinci sınıflardan 64, üçüncü sınıflardan 59 ve dördüncü sınıflardan 50 olmak üzere toplam 211 öğrenci çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Çalışmada öğrencilerden, önce "Çevre kirliliği" daha sonra da "Temiz çevre" kavramlarıyla ilgili ayrı ayrı resimler çizmeleri istenmiştir. Daha sonra her bir öğrenci ile yapılan görüşmeler ile çizdikleri resimleri açıklamaları ve "Sizce çevre kirliliği nedir?" "Çevre kirliliğine sebep olan faktörler nelerdir?" "Çevre kirliliği nasıl önlenebilir?" "Temiz bir çevre için neler yapmalıyız?" gibi soruları cevaplamaları istenmiştir. Öğrencilerin çizdikleri resimler görüşmelerdeki açıklamaları da dikkate alınarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda en yaygın çevre kirliliği olarak evsel atıklardan oluşan "çöp" kavramına tüm sınıflarda çizilen resimlerde yer verildiği görülmüştür. Bu çevre sorunu yanında hava kirliliğine ve bu iki soruna oranla daha az öğrencinin su kirliliği kapsamında deniz kirliliğine ilişkin çizimler yaptığı tespit edilmiştir. Diğer çevre sorunlarına resimlerde neredeyse hiç yer verilmemiştir. Öğrenciler temiz çevre kavramı hakkında çöplerin atılmadığı, akarsu, ağaç ve yeşilliğin olduğu çizimler yapmışlardır. Sonuç olarak ilkokul öğrencilerinin çevre kirliliği hakkında çok sınırlı bir bilgiye sahip oldukları, çevre kirliliğine çoğunlukla çöplerin sebep olduğunu ve çöplerin toplanmasıyla çevre kirliliğinin büyük oranda önlenebileceğini düşündükleri anlaşılmaktadır.

Both Freud and Jung, who are the ancestors of modern psychology, pointed out the reciprocal link between art, symbols and personalities in their studies. Freud confirmed with his studies that universal human conflicts and neurosis drive people into the artistic creativity and the expression by drawing is a way to understand the inner world of the human spirit. Jung searched the universality and archetypes contained in the visual arts as he believed that the connection is important between the soul and the image and also he stressed the importance of symbols in description. Jung stated that imagines develop the spirit as creating symbols and individuals exposed to trauma treat themselves by using this way. In parallel with Freud's and Jung's studies, different studies were made as a result of orientation to the pictures of children. In the several studies from the past to the present, pictures are one of the most important ways of expressing themselves for children, in addition to this; it is an indicator for the emotional and cognitive development of children. It is stated that children reflect the inner world of their own as spontaneous and without resistance in the pictures which they draw, and they perceive this activities as a game, and inform the advisor about their psychological status, forms of interpersonal relationship, feelings, briefly many information related with their inner world. It is also specified that drawing is an easy communication instrument especially for the children who are timid, passive and have difficulties in expressing themselves; and it gains an important power to counselor about understanding children.In this review, we tried to tell the therapeutic use of pictures to assess the children mental status and the studies which was made in this subject in our country and the world.

The early years are the ideal time to support the physical activity level of children while also addressing readiness skills. With growing evidence of the link between physical activity and child development, it is imperative to find ways to routinely support physical activity. However, research has shown that children do not spend enough time in active motor play. This concern is even more critical for children with disabilities who often have challenges with development and physical activity. The aim of this study is to examine 4-7 year old children’s drawings of the school of their dreams and to compare them with today’s schools. In a total of 45 children who attend private institutions in Ankara participated in the research. The method of the research is qualitative and data collection tools consisting of picture drawing and interview forms directed at children after drawing are also prepared with a qualitative approach. Children’s drawings were examined according to their developmental stages and children’s dream schools were compared with today’s schools by performing descriptive statistics on drawings and responses to interviews. According to the findings, drawings of younger age range were more unusual than drawings of older age range and physical structures, materials; and education programs of existing schools exhibit a remote image of the dream schools of a large portion of the children who were involved in the survey.

Purpose: This study aimed to determine the motivations that are effective in teachers' candidates' choosing the teaching profession and the field they study. In addition, it aimed to examine the intrinsic and extrinsic motivations that are effective in profession and field choices regarding gender, year of study and the field of education. Design/Methodology/Approach: The research was conducted with the relational screening model. The research population comprised students studying at Inonu University, Faculty of Education. The sample was composed of students studying in Preschool Teaching, Turkish Language Teaching, Mathematics Teaching and Classroom Teaching departments at Inonu University Faculty of Education. Non-parametric tests were used because the data did not show normal distribution. Findings: It was determined that the motivation sources effective in teacher candidates' choice of profession and field of education were at the level of "Agree" in the intrinsic field, intrinsic profession, outside profession dimensions and throughout the scale while they were at the level of "Partially Agree" in the outside field dimension. Differences were found in gender in the intrinsic and extrinsic professions and the extrinsic field subdimensions. No difference was found in motivations that are effective in choosing a profession and field according to a year of study. Differences were found in terms of the department of study. Highlights: The motivation of teacher candidates to choose their profession and the field of education is primarily intrinsic. However, it was observed that besides intrinsic motivation sources, a certain level of extrinsic motivation sources was also practical. This situation is promising for the future of education and the teaching profession in Turkey. Öz Çalışmanın amacı: Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik mesleğini ve öğrenim gördükleri alanı tercih etmelerinde etkili olan motivasyonları tespit etmektir. Bunun yanında meslek ve alan tercihlerinde etkili olan içsel ve dışsal motivasyonların cinsiyet, sınıf düzeyi ve öğrenim görülen alan bakımından incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Materyal ve Yöntem: Araştırma, ilişkisel tarama modeli ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın evrenini İnönü Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem ise İnönü Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Okul Öncesi Öğretmenliği, Türkçe öğretmenliği, Matematik Öğretmenliği ve Sınıf Öğretmenliği bölümlerinde öğrenim gören öğrenciler oluşturmaktadır. Veriler normal dağılım göstermediğinden parametrik olmayan testler kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Öğretmen adaylarının meslek ve öğrenim gördükleri alanı tercih etmelerinde etkili olan motivasyon kaynakları; içsel alan, içsel meslek, dışsal meslek boyutlarında ve ölçek genelinde katılıyorum düzeyinde iken dışsal alan boyutunda ise kısmen katılıyorum düzeyinde olduğu görülmüştür. İçsel ve dışsal meslek, dışsal alan alt boyutlarında cinsiyet açısından farklılaşmalar bulunmuştur. Sınıf düzeyine göre meslek ve alan seçiminde etkili olan motivasyonlar açısından farklılaşma bulunmamıştır. Öğrenim görülen bölüm açısından farklılaşmalar bulunmuştur. Önemli Vurgular: Öğretmen adaylarının mesleklerini ve öğrenim gördükleri alanı tercih etme motivasyonları daha çok içsel kaynaklıdır. Bu durum Türkiye'nin eğitim geleceği ve öğretmenlik mesleği bakımından umut vericidir. Ancak içsel motivasyon kaynaklarının yanında belirli düzeyde dışsal motivasyon kaynakları da etkili olduğu görülmüştür.

Bu calismanin amaci ortaokul ogrencilerinin bir onceki donem fen bilimleri dersi basari notlari ve algiladiklari fen bilimleri basarilarinin fen ogrenmeye yonelik akademik motivasyonlarini ne duzeyde yordadigini belirlemektir. Research has broadly shown that Inhibitory Control and drawing skills are directly associated in early childhood development. The current study extends this in three studies investigating the role of Motor Control in this relationship, and the differences between three different drawing skills in their relationships with Inhibitory Control, Fine and Gross Motor Control, IQ, age and gender. Study 1 found strong positive correlations in 3- and 4-year-old children (n=100) between Inhibitory Control, Fine Motor Control, age and two drawing skills (Figurative Representation and Detail). Mediation analyses however demonstrated that Fine Motor Control fully mediated the relationship between Inhibitory Control and these drawing measures. Les changements socio-économiques engendrés par la colonisation ont grandement modifiés la structure familiale africaine d'origine (Yao, 2014). La modernité puisqu'il s'agit d'elle, est venue avec ses côtés positifs et négatifs. Un développement subit qui n'émane nullement de la volonté du sujet Africain. Confronté à cette nouvelle réalité, on assiste à l'avènement de nouvelles formes pathologiques donc le « phénomène de transe » qui va grandissant au Cameroun (De Rosny, 2011) et en Afrique. L'origine sorcière du mal mise en avant est remise en cause par l'absence de guérison véritable avec des pratiques adaptées à ce cas. Etant dans l'impossibilité de démontrer (d'admettre) l'inefficacité de nos pratiques médicales ancestrales, nous avons orienté notre réflexion sur le rôle de la structure familiale dans l'éclosion de cette pathologie. Une analyse psychodynamique du système familial précolonial et postcolonial met en exergue le rôle des parents notamment du Père dans l'origine du mal. La défaillance du Père suite à son absence apparait comme étant le moteur du « phénomène de transe ». L'individualisme et l'individualité prônée par la famille moderne n'autorisent pas/plus ou presque pas/plus la substitution automatique du père biologique lorsque sa défaillance est observée comme c'était le cas avec la famille précoloniale. Öz. Kavramlar fen öğretiminde önemli bir yer tutar. Fen eğitiminin amaçlarından biri, öğrencilerin bu kavramları ezberlemeden anlamlı olarak öğrenmelerini ve yaşantılarında gereksinimleri doğrultusunda kullanmalarını sağlamaktır. Kavram öğretimi yapılırken öğrencilerin kavram yanılgılarına sahip olup olmadıklarının dikkate alınması öğretimin verimliliğini arttırır. Öğrencilerin kavram hakkında neler anladıklarını, zihinlerinde nasıl canlandırdıklarını, kavram yanılgılarının olup olmadığını anlama tekniklerinden biri de çizimlerdir. Çizim, öğrencinin nasıl cevaplayacağı konusunda küçük sınırlamalar dışında sınırlama koymayan açık bir tekniktir. Çizimlerin amacı, öğretmenlerin diğer anlamayı inceleme yöntemleri ile ortaya çıkaramadığı durumların ortaya konulmasını da sağlamaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, 6.sınıf öğrencilerinin fen bilimleri dersinde bitkilerin büyüme ve gelişmesine etki eden faktörler hakkındaki bilgilerini ve varsa kavram yanılgılarını çizimler aracılığıyla ortaya çıkarmaktır. Bu amaçla, 6. sınıf "Bitki ve Hayvanlarda Üreme, Büyüme ve Gelişme" ünitesinde ilgili kazanım işlenmeden önce ve sonra öğrencilerden bitkilerin büyümesine etki eden faktörleri çizim yoluyla anlatmaları istenmiştir. İkincil veri toplama kaynağını da öğrencilerle çizimleri hakkında yapılan bireysel görüşmeler oluşturmuştur. Araştırma grubu Sakarya ili, Hendek ilçesinde bulunan bir devlet ortaokulunda 6. sınıfta öğrenim görmekte olan 23 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Öğrencilerin çizimlerinde çoğunlukla su, güneş ve gübreye yer verdikleri, iki öğrencinin oksijeni de çizimlerine yansıttığı, ancak hiçbir öğrencinin karbondioksite yer vermediği görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak öğrencilerin bitkilerin büyüme ve gelişmesi için gerekli unsurlardan su ve ışığı çizimlerine yansıttıkları, ayrıca çizimlerde bazı kavram yanılgılarına da rastlandığı görülmüştür. This study investigated Indonesian and Japanese students' understandings of macroscopic and submicroscopic levels of representing matter and its changes and the difficulties they have with these concepts. A multiple-choice questionnaire was constructed and delivered to 447 Indonesian and 446 Japanese public senior high school students. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings of the study show students' understandings of macro-and submicroscopic levels are stronger for higher-grade levels, except that the Indonesian students' pattern is slightly different. The average percentage of students responding correctly on the macroscopic level ranges between 62% and 69% (Indonesia) and between 58% and 73% (Japanese), whereas on the submicroscopic level ranges between 56% and 62% (Indonesian) and 44% and 66% (Japanese). Their understandings of the macroscopic level, however, are higher than for the submicroscopic level. The soundness of students' understandings of the concepts increases with grade level, except for Indonesian pattern slightly different. The average percentage of students responding correctly ranges between 37% and 48% (Indonesian) and between 28% and 52% (Japanese). Furthermore, students' level of sound understandings of the concepts is lower than their understandings on either the macroscopic level or the submicroscopic level. It is found that students have great difficulties with and hold some alternative conceptions of the concepts of homogeneous mixtures, phase changes from solid to liquid, and phase changes from solid to gas. The study has implications, for example, the use of several routes to meaningful learning and the careful use of technical words.

İlişkisel tarama modelinin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada, okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının müzik öğretimine ilişkin tutumları belirlenmiş, tutumlarının çeşitli değişkenler açısından farklılık gösterip göstermediği incelenmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak Şeker ve Saygı (2013) tarafından geliştirilen "Müzik Öğretimine İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği"nin kullanıldığı çalışma, 2014-2015 eğitim-öğretim yılında Dicle Üniversitesi Ziya Gökalp Eğitim Fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte ve müzik eğitimi I-II derslerini almakta olan 53 "Okul Öncesi Öğretmenliği Anabilim Dalı" öğrencisi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda katılımcıların müzik öğretimine önem verme ve müzik dersine ilişkin duygu ve düşünceler alt boyutlarına yönelik "olumlu", müzik öğretimine ilişkin akademik çalışmalar yapma alt boyutlarına yönelik "kararsız" tutum sergiledikleri; cinsiyet, bölümde alınan müzik eğitimini yeterli görme, okul öncesi müzik öğretim programlarını inceleme ve yeni yöntem/teknik/yaklaşımlar hakkında bilgi sahibi olma değişkenlerinin, çalışma grubunun müzik öğretimine yönelik tutumları açısından anlamlı bir farklılık gösterdiği saptanmıştır.

RESUMO
Entender como é vista e discutida a questão do desenho infantil é uma necessidade para o professor de arte e para todas as pessoas que tem responsabilidade e contato direto com crianças. A conceituação, a significação e a postura a se adotar ao interagir com a criança e sua produção gráfica são aspectos que somente começaram a serem estudados a partir do final do século XIX, e esta monografia tem como objetivo a realização de uma pesquisa histórica e a hierarquização do desenvolvimento desse estudo, descrevendo o caminho percorrido desde as primeiras pesquisas, até os dias de hoje. Ao serem descritos, os estudos realizados vão traçando uma linha onde vemos as questões de causa e efeito que as posturas adotadas tiveram junto à educação artística aplicada nas escolas e na maneira do adulto lidar com o desenho de sua criança. Será visto que, a partir das novas descobertas e colaborações científicas, vão se formando novas propostas, que condizentes com o período histórico em que são formuladas, abrangem uma série de questões, como o estudo do desenho paralelo e aplicado aos desenvolvimentos cognitivos, físicos, emocionais, mentais e psicológicos da criança. O desenho está presente em todos esses campos e veremos parte do que foi verificado sobre esse tema até a atualidade. A colaboração científica deste trabalho será de através da análise que se fará paralelamente aos fatos descritos, oferecer uma visão geral de um processo, estabelecendo através da história averiguada uma relação onde poderá se entender porque temos hoje a atual visão sobre o tema. Uma visão que vê o domínio do desenho como um dom, enquanto acreditamos que na verdade esse domínio possa ser adquirido através de estudo, treino e orientação. A história do estudo do desenho nos mostra que, devido ao fato do assunto ter sido descoberto em uma época de profundas mudanças, acabou-se por se tomar uma postura extremamente libertária sobre qual a maneira correta do adulto conduzir o contato da criança com seu próprio desenho. Afinal, depende do adulto o fornecimento à criança de materiais para que ela possa, desde muito pequena, se valer desse exercício e ferramenta de interação com o mundo. Veremos as últimas propostas e averiguações realizadas pelos estudiosos que visam mudar o quadro atual, que não direciona nem orienta esse trabalho de forma a oferecer a criança mais do que ela própria possa fazer sozinha, sem contato com o conhecimento formal que a atividade oferece e que poderia facilitar muito a maneira como a criança lida com essa sua habilidade ao longo inclusiva de sua futura vida adulta. Procuraremos apontar as razões para que as pessoas tenham mais atenção e entendam parte dos vários significados contidos e que acompanham o desenho da criança. Entendê-la enquanto indivíduo e compreender algumas de suas questões básicas através da busca de um contato mais consciente com seu desenho, torna a tarefa de se chegar à criança mais fácil, afinal, ela se utiliza desse desenho também como linguagem, expressão e sabermos ler essa linguagem facilita muito o nosso acesso e participação junto ao mundo infantil.

Art has been the only shelter for artists against the alienation that came with Modernism, which covers a hundred-year period between 1860-1960. In modern art, instead of classical art rules, it is seen that the surface, form and color are given importance in painting with the desire to reach the new, and basic forms gain value in line with the desire to reach the essence. However, children's pictures have broken these rules as an innate feature. However, children's pictures have broken these rules as an innate feature. Recognizing that children paint objects as they perceive, not as a representational reality, and that they follow a very original way while doing this, caused children's paintings to be a source for modern art. Along with modern art, Manet deferred form by chasing light in the open air, and did not refrain from deforming Cezanne forms with the help of geometric forms. The forms used in modern art, where the depth is reduced to two dimensions on the surface, are no longer imitating nature. For painters who chose the path of conveying their spiritual experiences and pure emotional intensities by moving away from the reality of the world seen in modern art, children's paintings included a unique and rich visual language that took them to a metaphysical universe. The aim of this research is to emphasize the effect of children's painting on modern art by revealing similarities between children's paintings and the works of artists such as Gris, Kandinsky, Klee, Cezanne and Chirico, who are among the important names of Modern Art.

En aquest treball, hi analitzem diferents concepcions de les funcions simbòliques de les representacions, i des d'aquest plantejament indaguem si els nens i les nenes de diferents cultures i edats mostren similituds en els estils i en les maneres d'entendre la vida i el seu manteniment. Estudiem els dibuixos d'una illa imaginària que han produït nens i nenes-de sis a dotze anys-de l'Argentina, Colòmbia, l'Espanya i Anglaterra. Un dibuix de com la veurien en el moment d'arribar-hi i un altre de la mateixa illa després d'un any de viure-hi. Les produccions pictòriques han permès fer l'apropament a les representacions ecològiques dels infants dels diferents països i a les transformacions que introdueixen en l'ambient natural per a la seva adaptació. Eliciting preschool children’s ideas in research, generally, and in science, particularly, necessitates the utilization of suitable methods that contribute to empowering children to share their ideas and experiences. In this paper we propose and discuss the potential of a research-based teaching intervention designed to foster preschool children’s understanding of change of state and build a precursor model of melting and freezing. The proposed teaching intervention is based on the idea that storytelling provides a meaningful context for children, using a language within their experience. It also suggests to engage the children into drawing activities at various steps of the intervention, considering that drawing is a powerful tool to support children’s expression of ideas in science and follow the development of such ideas.
