One day in the science class we decided to do an experiment to isolate substances from a certain mixture. The research on the Internet took us to the study of essences and scents. We found out where and how the art of perfumery was born and we traced its development since the ancient Egypt to our days, as well as the different techniques used to obtain fragrances. Then, we put into practice all the information collected and tried the different techniques. Certain mixtures of essences made nice smells and we thought that if we could isolate a great amount of them and mix them properly, we could create different components of perfumes, since they are the result of combiming many aromatic substances. Never fewer than 20 or 30 therefore, we worked hard to obtain as many of these substances as we could by using techniques such as distillation, pressing, maceration, extraction and enfleurage. Later, in order to obtain "splash cologne"(1-2% essence),"cologne"(7-10% essence) and perfume (up to 20% essence) we used the essential oils isolated from plants and animals (leaves, fruit, flowers, etc) and employed the most appropriate technique in each case. The harmonious combination of these essences of identifiable smells or" Note of head", "Intermediate note or of body", "Notes of fund" According to the major or minor volatility, respectively, of these fragrances. A pleasure for the senses!
