brinde, com cachaça, aos 200 anos de Independência do Brasil

2022, Revista Brasileira de História da Ciência

Abstract

Taking as object of study the initiatives of modernization of sugar and cachaça production by aristocracy in the historical construction of independent Brazil, which were based on modern Western science in opposition to the indicative method, we analyze documents seeking to highlight how the precepts of the Enlightenment guided these initiatives and how the use of signs was maintained in various operations, even in situations where precise devices already existed, as in the case of the use of the Holland Test, which has as its current correspondent the ajofe test. Around these indicative practices there is a field of interdiscursivity and creative interculturality, with the potential to inspire emancipatory educational practices in the field of science teaching, aimed at an expanded understanding of the diverse forms of rational activity and the realization of socio-political actions that value the non-hierarchical integration of knowledges and promote decoloniality, in its multiple dimensions.
