Palatal cysts are always confusing by defining their exact nomenclature or conclusive diagnosis. One of these presentations is globulomaxillary cyst which requires to be categorized under appropriate head for the management point of view. Though this entity appears to be of odontogenic in origin but because of its anatomical relation and histo-pathological background this is placed in non odontogenic group. Though the mechanism of its formation remains the same but this cyst cannot be mixed up with nasopalatine cyst as per their location. Globulomaxillary cyst appears as inverted pear shaped radiolucency in all radiological procedures. This remains asymptomatic for a long time and rarely gets infected. We present a 29-year-old male who reported with one year history of asymptomatic right side hard palate swelling. He was subsequently diagnosed as globulomaxillary cyst with the help of radiological modalities like computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Cysts are pathological cavity which encloses solid, liquid or gaseous substances. Cystic lesions can be potentially dangerous and life threatening when it occurs in maxillary arch and it affects the adjacent vital structures. Oral diagnostitians plays a pivotal role in early and accurate diagnosis by a proper clinical examination and adequate investigations. This article provides an insight to the salient features of cystic lesions which occur in maxillary arch and associated structures.

Lymphoepithelial cyst (LEC) is the most commonly encountered congenital neck pathology in the lateral part of the neck. A 66-year-old woman presented to the ENT clinic due to difficulty in swallowing persisting for approximately 1 year. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a cystic mass at right tonsil. Surgery was performed due to this unilateral tonsillar mass, which was excised together with the right tonsil. LEC was diagnosed at histopathological examination. LEC in the palatine tonsil is rare, and only a few cases have been reported in the literature. We report a rare case of LEC in the palatine tonsil.

Cystic lesions of the maxilla are benign entities with both odontogenic and non-odontogenic origins. The maxillary cyst is a benign tumor of the bones of the jaw, which has a membrane and contains a fluid, semi-solid or mixed (liquid / semi-gaseous) material. These often lead to deformities in the jaw area. Cases are specific by framing pathological rarity, etiology, pathogenesis and clinical symptoms.Considering the large entity of cystic formations that can be found in the maxilla region, we selected two patients with cystic formations of the upper jaw, which were part of different pathological etiology categories, with special rarity occurring, evolutionary appearance and difficult to classify in terms of pathognomonic signs.

S Lymphoepithelial cyst of oral cavity is a rare cystic lesion that presents as an asymptomatic submucosal mass and is usually discovered during routine dental examinations. The site most commonly affected is floor of the mouth but tonsillar involvement seems to be very rare. Multiple lymphoepithelial cysts have been reported in parotid of HIV positive patients however in oral cavity they usually present as solitary lesions. We report a case of multiple bilateral lymphoepithelial cysts of the palatine tonsils in a 72 years old male that presents with fever, pain and obstructive sleep apnea. We did not find any bilateral or multiple tonsillar lymphoepiyhelial cysts in the literature and the present paper seems to be the first report. We suggest although lymphoepithelial cysts rarely occur in the tonsils but they should be considered in differential diagnosis of adenotonsillar enlargement and related obstructive sleep apnea. Mucocele forms because of salivary gland mucous extravasation or retention and is usually related to trauma in the area of the lower lips. Salivary duct cyst, however, is a type of mucous retention cyst which is almost never located on the lower lip. The aim of this paper is to report this extremely rare salivary duct cyst present on the lower lip and to critically review the literature to build important concepts that would help clinicians in the diagnosis and treatment of this pathology.

Epidermoid and dermoid cysts are benign, developmental lesions that can be encountered anywhere in the body. Literature search does not report any epidermoid cyst location in the palatine tonsils. However we encountered a case of a 34-year-old female patient who underwent a tonsillectomy for diagnostic purposes because of an epidermoid cyst arising from the tonsil which was confirmed by histology.
