Though some reports suggest that in-service training of library personnel started first time in India in the beginning of 20th century, yet the LIS education as university course started quite late as compared to other disciplines in undivided India. Geographically distribution of LIS education centres in India presents an interesting feature. Calcutta, Baroda and Lahore (in undivided India) set the motion and then Andhra and others followed. 1940s and 1950s have been the turning point so far the progress of LIS education is concerned. Spread of LIS education has been so that during last one century more than 100 universities have been imparting LIS education with quite a few colleges offering LIS education too. The preset study makes an Endeavour to trace the chronology of development of and chorology of distribution of LIS education in India.

Theses and dissertations have always been one of the most important types of grey literature for the scholarly world. However, there has always been a debate on their accessibility issues. In majority of cases, the usage of these documents is limited only to the University Level. The submission of theses and dissertations in electronic format has increased the opportunity for the user community to have access to the knowledge embedded in these works through various national and international e-theses & dissertations repositories. In India, UGC Regulations 2009, made it mandatory for every doctoral researcher to submit his/ her thesis in electronic format to the university concerned which are then deposited in INFLIBNET’s Shodhganga: a reservoir of Indian theses. The present study reports the status of ETD contributions of Universities of Maharashtra.

There is no doubt that the palpable contributions of Human Capital Development (HCD) to the growth of any economy cannot be underestimated. The study examines the impact of technological innovation on human capital development with specific reference toOgun State Technological Hub, Nigeria. The eclectic approach was utilised as the study is anchored on both the human capital and institutional theories. It adopts the survey research design and primary data was collected through the use of interviews and questionnaires. Data collected were analysed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. More specifically, the stated hypotheses were tested using Pearson Moment Correlation Coefficient with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings of the study reveal that the Nigerian educational system has failed to address the challenges of technological innovation due to lack of funding and poor coordination of research and development and this has negatively impacted on employees effectiveness and the quality of human capital in the country. Therefore, the study recommends among others that the government should ensure that there is a functional educational system as well as regular training of employees to enhance the improvement of skills, knowledge and professional development. This, no doubt will engender the overall development of human capital in Nigeria. Also, institutions should be equipped with state-of-the-art technology that can be deployed to enrich and develop the human capital which is the necessary concomitant of economic growth and development. It concludes that technology is the cheapest and easiest way to improve human capital development through youth empowerment programs.
