2017, ROOM HEATING SySTEM ON NORTH BACTRIA IN THE BRONzE AGE

Abstract

Ancient Bactria occupied both banks of the upper reaches of the Amu Darya river. Today, this area is in line with the territory of North Afghanistan, South Uzbekistan and South-West Tajikistan. In the Uzbek part of North Bactria, such sites of sedentary farming culture as Sapallitepa, Djarkutan, Tillabulak, Arabulak, Mulali, Buston, Kuchuktepe, and Kyzylpete have been studied; in the Tajik part, the sites of cattle-breeding tribal communities have been researched thanks to their favourable natural geographical conditions for economic life of the steep tribes. To give but one example, in the basins of Vakhsh and Kyzylsu rivers, the burial grounds of Tulkhar, Aruktau, Aykul, Djarkul, Makoni-Mor, Bishkent I, II, III, Tigrovaya Balka, Borbat, Gelot, Guliston, Obkukh, Kungurttut, Isanbay, and Toshguzar attributed to Beshkent-Vakhsh culture have been discovered and studied.
