This paper proposes residential hybrid distribution system that can supply AC power and DC power to AC load and DC load at the same time. This hybrid distribution system consists of three parts: bidirectional inverter, step-up converter and step-down converter. Also that is used to supply voltage to home application is classified of AC load and DC load as load characteristics. The performance of proposed hybrid distribution system is validated through the hardware implementation and the experimental results.

For OBC (On-Board Charger) and LDC (Low DC-DC Converter) used as essential power conversion systems of PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle), system performance is required as well as reliability, which is need to protect the vehicle and driver from various faults. While current development processor is sufficient for embodying functions and verifying performance in normal state during development of prototypes for OBC and LDC, there is no clear method of verification for various fault situations that occur in abnormal state and for securing stability of vehicle base, unless verification is performed by mounting on an actual vehicle. In this paper, a CCM (Charger Converter Module) was developed as an integrated structure of OBC and LDC. In addition, diverse fault situations that can occur in vehicles are simulated by a simulator to artificially inject into power conversion system and to test whether it operates properly. Also, HILS (Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation) is carried out to verify whether LDC is operated properly under power environment of an actual vehicle.

Korean Government has developed Sejong City as a new administration city. This city of future was planned and designed toward one of the most eco-friendly city on the basis of ICTs. To attain this object, a carbon emission monitoring system (CEMS) was designed and installed as a part of u-city service which provides various information anytime and anywhere to enrich the people's quality of life. In this paper, at first, the structure and functions of CEMS are introduced. This system is consist of 5 parts-data collection from user and linked public DBs, transforming data into meaningful information for the policy makers, system-user interfacing via statistical tables and graphs, and system maintenance. This system can be operated by the citizen participation through whole the process. With the help of GIS map and graphic interface, statistics of monitored data for both citizen and decision maker provided and after feedback , they have affected on the behaviour of citizen's energy consumption and related policy as well. By the CEMS, energy consumption data of 124 agreed households were collected during 9 months in 2012. Electricity, gas and water consumption were remote-metered automatically by the system and analysed. This showed that more than 85% of CO2 emission is rely on electricity usage. Furthermore, number of family members and size of house influences on the emission of CO2 by each household together with the lifestyle of the occupants. Electricity and water consumption showed the seasonal factor while gas consumption represents the number of family members. Even this paper has limitations caused by 9 months of data collection, it shows the policy directions to reduce the emission of CO2 focusing on the house size and number of family members of each households. With the result of this research, lifestyle of the generation of dwellers should be investigated and the CO2 emission characteristics of other housing type as well for the data building for future policy making.

Code refactoring focuses on enhancing the maintainability of software to extend its lifetime. However as software applications were varied and the range of its usage becomes broaden, there are some efforts to improve software qualities like performance or reliability as well as maintainability using code refactoring techniques. Recently, as low-energy software has become one of critical issues in mobile environment, developing energy efficient software through code refactoring becomes an important one. Therefore this paper has its goal to investigate whether the existing refactoring techniques can support energy efficient software generation or not. That is to say, the existing code refactoring techniques can cause the minus of energy efficiency because they did not considered the energy consumption in their refactoring process. This paper experiments and analyzes to check whether the M. Fowler's code refactoring techniques can support the energy efficient software generation or not. Our research result can give to software developer some informations about energy-efficient refactoring techniques, and can support the development of software that has high maintainability and good energy efficiency.

Along with the complexity and size growth of embedded software, it is critical to meet the nonfunctional requirements such as power consumption as well as functional requirements such as correctness. This paper, apart from the existing studies of source code-based power analysis, proposes an approach of model-based power analysis using UML 2.0. Specially, we focus on the development of energy library to analyze the power consumption of embedded software. Our energy library supports model-based power analysis, and also supports the easy adaption for the change of embedded application.

Zn-Air energy storage cell is an attractive type of batteries due to its theoretical gravimetric energy density, cost-effective structure and environmental-friendly characteristics. The chargeability is the most critical in various industrial applications such as smart portable device, electric vehicle, and power storage system. Thus, it is necessary to reduce large overpotential of oxygen reduction/evolution reaction, the irreversibility of Zn anode, and carbonation in alkaline electrolyte. In this review, we try to introduce recent studies and developments of bi-functional air cathode, enhanced charge efficiency via modification of Zn anode structure, and blocking side reactions applying hybrid organic-aqueous electrolyte for high power density rechargeable Zn-Air energy storage cells.

Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) promote long-life housing to reduce social costs generated by poorly considered rebuilding and extend the lifespan of housing. Long-life housing has advantages of durability, floor plan variability, efficient maintenance and ease of remodeling because it is a beam-column structure building. However, long-life housing requires somewhat higher initial construction cost than wall type apartments. It makes increase of long-life housing more difficult. In this study, we compare between wall-type apartment and beamcolumn structure apartment from Life-Cycle Cost's viewpoint. As a result of the study, long-life housing incurs 18% higher initial cost than wall type apartment, but is 7% more economical than wall type apartment in terms of Life Cycle Cost. Therefore, it is shown that long-life housing could be a beneficial alternative to traditional wall type apartments.

Construction industry pays attention to modular construction recently which based on factory production not on labor intensive site production. Since modular construction has high time shortening effect and easiness of demolition and recycling, it has been applied to the temporary residential building. Domestic modular construction market are not activated yet, however, due to the high initial cost to realize modular construction. This study proposes demandsensitized movable modular building in order to reduce the financial burden. The study compares between RC method building and Modular building which moves building when the demand falls off from Life-Cycle Cost's viewpoint. As a result of the economical evaluation, RC method achieved profits faster than Modular model, but Modular model's gross earnings during the life-cycle are much bigger than RC method. In other words, the result means that the marketsensitized movement of the modular building would be an economic choice in Life-Cycle Costing aspect.
