This paper offers a new method for the garbage collection by garbage level detection. This study has been undertaken to investigate the garbage level in different levels by using smart dustbins. In the modern age, Urbanization has increased tremendously. At the same phase, there is an increase in waste production. Waste management has been a crucial issue to be considered. So, inspired by the Swachh Bharat Mission, we developed a Smart Dustbin which will sense the position of human and automatically opens the lid of the dustbins. It monitors the garbage bins and informs about the levels of garbage collected in the garbage bins via sending SMS to the cleaning staff and supervisor of the Municipal Corporation. Once the garbage reaches the threshold level ultrasonic sensor will trigger the GSM modem which will continuously alert the cleaning staff and supervisor until the garbage in the dustbin is squashed. Foul smell from the rotten wastes that remain untreated for a long time, due to...

In the recent decades, Urbanization has increased tremendously. At the same phase there is an increase in waste production. Waste management has been a crucial issue to be considered. This paper is a way to achieve this good cause. In this paper, smart bin is built on a microcontroller based platform Arduino Uno board which is interfaced with GSM modem and Ultrasonic sensor. Ultrasonic sensor is placed at the top of the dustbin which will measure the stature of the dustbin. The threshold stature is set as 10cm. Arduino will be programmed in such a way that when the dustbin is being filled, the remaining height from the threshold height will be displayed. Once the garbage reaches the threshold level ultrasonic sensor will trigger the GSM modem which will continuously alert the required authority until the garbage in the dustbin is squashed. Once the dustbin is squashed, people can reuse the dustbin. At regular intervals dustbin will be squashed. Once these smart bins are implemented on a large scale, by replacing our traditional bins present today, waste can be managed efficiently as it avoids unnecessary lumping of wastes on roadside. Foul smell from these rotten wastes that remain untreated for a long time, due to negligence of authorities and carelessness of public may lead to long term problems. Breeding of insects and mosquitoes can create nuisance around promoting unclean environment. This may even cause dreadful diseases

In today’s era it is very important to manage and handle the waste. The waste bins kept in the public places overflows before the garbage cleaners arrive to collect the waste. As a result, the bins are not cleared off on timely basis and foul smell, maintaining of hygiene, spread of disease are the biggest problems in the public area. Smart Dustbin is the need of the hour for the urban areas. The paper aims at the development of a smart garbage bin alert system. The complete IoT based dustbin is designed and developed to automate the process and monitor it efficiently. The system measures the level of waste inside the bin and auto locks the garbage bin and informs municipal authorities about the same stating the location of the bin so that corrective measure can be taken for timely collection of garbage and avoidance of the filthiness in the area. The system will also adapt with network environment to manage all information from waste management.

In the present day scenario, many times we see that the garbage bins or Dust bin are placed at public places in the cities are overflowing due to increase in the waste every day. It creates unhygienic condition for the people and creates bad smell around the surroundings this leads in spreading some deadly diseases & human illness, to avoid such a situation we are planning to design "Solar Powered IOT Based Waste Management in Smart City". In this proposed System there are multiple solar powered smart dustbins located throughout the city , these dustbins are provided with low cost embedded device which helps in tracking the level of the garbage bins and an unique ID will be provided for every dustbin in the city so that it is easy to identify which garbage bin is full. When the level reaches the threshold limit, the device will transmit the level along with the unique ID provided. These details can be accessed by the concern authorities from their place with the help of Internet and an immediate action can be made to clean the dustbins.
Now days we see that dustbins are put at open places in the urban areas are overflowing because of increment in the waste continuously. It makes unhygienic condition and makes unpleasant smell around the surroundings nature leads in spreading some deadly diseases and human illness. To overcome such issues waste management system is proposed for Smart Cities which are based on Internet of Things (IoT). In this system there are numerous dust bins situated all over the city. It will take minimum efforts to clean all the dustbins over the city by checking whether the dustbins are full or not. Also it detects over weight through the load cell. Control system sends SMS as well as updates of dustbin will be upload on webpage automatically. The term waste management usually relates to all kinds of waste, whether generated during the extraction of raw materials, the processing of raw materials into final products, the consumption of final products, or other human activities, including municipal, agricultural, and social like health care etc. There needs to be system that gives prior information of the filling of the bin that alerts the municipality so that they can clean the bin on time and safeguard the environment.

Piles of rubbish are one of the major problems faced by most people in Malaysia, especially those who live in flats, as the number of bins is limited and shared among all residents. It may cause pollutions, which may lead to sanitary issues and diseases. This project presents the development of a smart garbage monitoring system in order to measure waste level in the garbage bin in real-time and to alert the municipality, in particular cases, via SMS. The proposed system is consisted by the ultrasonic sensor to measure the waste level, the GSM module to send the SMS, and an Arduino Uno which controls the system operation. It supposes to generate and send the warning messages to the municipality via SMS when the waste bin is full or almost full, so the garbage can be collected immediately. Furthermore, it is expected to contribute to improving the efficiency of the solid waste disposal management.
Cleaning the dustbin is an important process which has to be done at regular basis but due to the inconsistency in the filling of waste, sometimes it gets overflowed even before the next cleaning process arrives. It is also observed that the garbage gets accumulated due to irregular removal of garbage present in the dustbin. Here we have figured out a new model for the municipal dustbins which intimates the Centre of municipality for immediate cleaning of dustbin with proper verification. It detects the garbage level in the dustbin using ultrasonic sensor and sends the alert to the server once when the garbage gets filled. After cleaning the dustbin, the driver needs to confirm his work using RFID Tag. RFID reader reads the Tag and checks the level of the dustbin and sends the status of cleaning to the server confirming the work done. The objective of the project was to develop an intelligent alerting system for proper management of garbage. With the objective keeping in front, a micro-controller based embedded system integrated with RFID and IoT technology is developed in this project. A municipal authority can use this type of system and monitor the waste collection status in real time and measure the performance of the team. An Android application is developed and interfaced with a web server to intimate the alerts to the municipality and to perform the remote monitoring of the cleaning process, done by the workers, thereby reducing the manual process of monitoring and verification.

Internet of Things (IoT) can play a major role in keeping the city of Accra clean, greener, more efficient, and safer. This paper proposed a smart garbage collection on the grounds of level of garbage present in the dustbin. This study tries to present a garbage collection management solution based on providing intelligence to dustbin using IoT prototype with sensors. This system would help to maintain cleanness of the streets of Accra Ghana by sending signals through a sensor to a garbage collection unit alerting this unit of the collection of the garbage as and when the dustbins are full. The extreme programming (XP) method was used in building the system which uses ultrasonic sensors placed in the lids of the bins to detect the garbage level and compare it with the garbage bins depth. The system makes use of AVR family microcontroller, LEDs, a SIM800L GSM/GPRS Module and was powdered by a 12V transformer. It was found out that the use of this system assisted in identifying places or areas where garbage bins are full for collection and disposal. It was also found out that waste management companies that adapted the use of this system were achieving their goals of collecting bins at the right time as compare to companies that were not making use of such technology. It was concluded that waste management companies using the system perform better in terms of picking up bins that were full due to the signals received at any point in time which has made in Accra Ghana a community without garbage bins over flowing with rubbish.

In recent decades Urbanization is increased tremendously. At the same phase there is an increase in waste production. These days managing the waste has become very important issue to be considered for keeping the city clean. The system is built on Arduino board which is connected with GSM modem and Ultrasonic sensor for waste management. The smart waste bin can be used to keep the city clean. The system is built such that it can measure the weight and amount waste in bin, also adapt with network environment, to manage all information from waste management to the municipality so that we can keep the city clean.
In this paper a cost effective dust bin monitoring system with street light is proposed. -SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN‖ -PM Narendra Modi's ambitious project to make INDIA a clean country. An efficient method to monitor the waste has been designed with some sensors and the output will display on the monitoring screen of municipality office. Level sensor detects the level of the garbage inside the bin and thus we get information about the level of garbage in the bins. The weight sensor is mounted at the bottom of dust bin and continuously monitors weight of garbage in to dustbin. On the receiver side continuously monitor garbage in to dustbin. Municipality takes many measures to maintain the cleanliness of the city. One of which is establishing dustbins in regular distance for the convenience of public to discard items. Cleaning this garbage is an important function of municipality which is directly related to health issues. We have designed a model for a ‗Smart Dustbin' which indicates directly that the dustbin is filled to a certain level by the garbage and cleaning or emptying them is a matter of immediate concern. This prevents lumping of garbage in the roadside dustbin which ends up giving foul smell and illness to people. The developing system will have a complete monitoring system which is IOT based. Also the information will be directly sent to the internet from system; no need of computer for transmission purpose which reduces the cost.

The govt. of India has launched various smart city projects and for these cities to be smarter it is necessary that the system which collects the garbage has to be smarter. In addition to that it is necessary that people need easy accessibility to the garbage disposing points as well as the garbage collection process. It has to be efficient in terms of time and fuel cost. Most of the urban cities and town in India are not well designed to facilitate the proper garbage disposing and collection mechanism. Also there are cities which are expanding rapidly and are putting the pressure on the current infrastructure which is not developing at the same pace as that of the current urbanization. In our propose system we are going to check garbage fill status of the dustbin by using Ultrasonic Sensor, Buzzer, Arduino Board, Moisture Sensor, Wifi Model this will check the status and send the message to cloud that Dustbin is full, then message is sent to collection van through Wifi Module then garbage collection is done, if the Dustbin is not cleaned in paticular time we will send message to higher authority and they will take approprite action on it.Our proposed system is going to segregate Dry and Wet garbage. Therefore, the Automatic Garbage Fill Alerting system makes the garbage collection more efficient, which will ultimately make our dustbins and also cities smart at the same time.
Approximately 36.5 million tons of garbage is produced by the country annually. If dustbin is not maintained then these can cause an unhealthy environment and can cause pollution that affects our health. The main objective of the project is to design a smart dustbin which will help in keeping our environment clean and reduce human interaction. This smart garbage bin is built using IoT and Robotics. It consists of hardware such as microcontroller, motor driver IC, Wi-fi module, servo motor, battery, etc. which is controlled by remote. The arms of the dustbin move with the help of the servo motors. This project aims to be a better and updated version of the current technologies by adding the robotic arms and mobile nature. For society it will help toward health and hygiene and can be used in smart city projects. This project will be made available for all sections of the society as well as all the possible places.

Waste management is one of the world's most significant problems today, independent of rich or developing countries. One of the most frequent issues occurs when waste containers are fully overflowing before the following phase of cleaning starts. A smart waste disposal system is needed to avoid certain scenarios and to guarantee public cleanliness and hygiene. The ultrasonic sensor can detect/validate the filling level and the specific stature of the garbage in the trashcan. Programming is done in the Arduino UNO to get a cleaning message till a certain degree of filling is recognized. The study proposed an intelligent warning system to improve waste and cleanliness by delivering an instantaneous dustbin cleaning alarm signal to the municipal web server. The whole operation is regulated by a modules combined with RFID as well as IOT. The dustbin is in actual time and notifies the local authorities during collection, which is tracked and monitored with the use of this gadget.

In the current situation, we frequently observe that the trash cans or dust cans that are located in public spaces in cities are overflowing due to an increase in the amount of waste produced each day. We propose to construct a "Smart Waste Management System utilising IoT" to prevent this because it leads to unclean conditions for people and produces a terrible stench in the surrounding area, which spreads some deadly diseases & human illness. In the proposed system, there are numerous trash cans scattered throughout the city or campus. Each trash can has a low-cost embedded device that tracks the level of the trash cans, and each one will also have a unique ID that makes it simple to determine which trash can is full. The device will broadcast the level and the supplied unique ID when the level hits the threshold limit. The concerned authorities can view these facts online from their location and take fast action to clean the trash cans.
