Parmênides, O Pluralismo e a Tradição Cosmológica

2013, Pólemos

Abstract

Taking Parmenides from the standpoint of the predication interpretation, I will discuss the relationship between him and some of his predecessors and successors, from his philosophy of eón (ἐόλ), what-is, understood as a methodological criterion for creating well-founded cosmologies. The starting point for this discussion will be the presentation of some definitions of the concepts of monism and pluralism. With these concepts in mind, the fragment B2 and others related to it will be analyzed in the context of the discussion about the appropriate route of investigation. With this will be clear the hermeneutic confusion that can arise from a simplistic view of these logical concepts. So, Parmenides" philosophy will be seen not as a break with the cosmological research, but as a reform proposal to the study of nature.
