Covid-19 caused a transformation in the educational aspect. Teachers have difficulty implementing online learning. This is due to the lack of learning media that can facilitate students in learning. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Youtube as an online learning medium. This type of research is qualitative research. The method used in this research is qualitative research methods. The Indonesian Minister of Education and Culture has instructed schools to carry out online learning since March 17, 2020 along with widespread COVID-19. Among all online learning media, YouTube has become increasingly popular for learning tools, especially with young adults. Thus, this research tried to investigate the students’ perception of using YouTube in the study of English skills class. This study aims to analyze the students' perceptions in using YouTube as online English learning media during the Covid-19 pandemic. at grade XI of SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar . The aspects of students’ perception cover attractiveness, effectiveness, relevancy, and motivation. These aspects are seen in students’ learning experiences in classes. The research subjects include students in class XI PMIA 6 and XI PMIA 7 at SMA Negeri 4 Pematangsiantar. The data are collected using qualitative research methods, namely the type of basic interpretive studies where the data are obtained using a questionnaire distributed to students in the form of a Google Form. The result of data analysis shows that most students gave a positive response to each statement in each aspect of the questionnaire given. ABSTRACT CONTEXT: One of the prime thrust of social studies in the primary education settings is to develop holistic and responsible citizens of a nation who can bring social change and development. The main goal of this subject is to develop students who are analytical, creative, responsible, productive, and nationalistic and cares for the environment and humanity (Saguid, 2016). Taking into account the importance of using video and visual objects for teaching, some universities utilize YouTube as a complementary teaching tool, This action research will try to evaluate the effects of ICT, Youtube videos in particular on the performance of selected Grade 6 pupils in Araling Panlipunan. DESIGN/METHODLOGY/APPROACH: At the start of the 3rd Quarter, the teacher decided to make use of videos and learning material found in Youtube in each topic. The 3rd quarterly grades of forty (20) randomly selected pupils will be evaluated together with their 4th quarterly grade. The teacher will be using Youtube videos and learning content were carefully selected to fit the level of understanding of the students. RESEARCH LIMITATIONS: This research is believed applicable to Grade 4 pupils of this study. The use of Youtube based materials is limited to classroom use and somehow acted as visual aids in the everyday interaction with the teacher. Results may vary if employed to other grade level. ORIGINALITY/VALUE: This research will help others to understand the role of technology in enhancing the present situation of learning environment. YouTube is a mobile application and social network that are integrated with various platforms and other media such as blogs or presentation materials. Developing a learning community through YouTube makes students experience online learning in an interesting way. The purpose of this study was to find out students' perception in learning English through online learning during Covid-19 pandemic. The participants selected for this research were five students from one of the universities in Bogor, Indonesia. This study uses qualitative research design. The results of this study indicate that YouTube is very helpful in online learning for students and this media can be accessed during online learning because it provides many educational videos to learn English and other skills. However, some difficulties were also found in this study. YouTube is also considered to add education fees in terms of connection. Students, in addition, stated that they had problem with their connection i.e., unstable signals and the ability to understand the video. This activity aims to summarize responses on the use of YouTube as a media of online learning during Covid-19 pandemic.

The technology of YouTube video is not only a place where people might upload, share, post, and comment, is also a platform where lecturers can use to facilitate teaching, learning and collaborate with their students. This research examines how YouTube educational materials could be adopted as instructional materials in the classroom situation. The main goal of this study is to provide well-informed and straightforward answers about how to adopt YouTube as an instructional material in classroom teaching process. This study used descriptive research design, whereby, 60 questionnaires were distributed to the respondents and 41 returned. The data collected was analysed using SPSS. The finding of the study revealed that lecturers agreed that, using YouTube as alternative instructional material improves students' performance. Five recommendations were made based on the findings. the study recommends that lecturers need orientation on the usage of YouTube as an educational resource, government should equip the college with educational materials and the college management should make it mandatory for every lecturer to adopt electronic instructional materials on every lesson.

Indonesia's low literacy rate makes Indonesia lagging behind several other countries. The purpose of this study is to improve technological literacy in school students. This study uses the YouTube application as a medium to improve technological literacy. The method used is descriptive quantitative with an approach using a pre-experimental method in the form of a one-group pre-test post-test design. The results of this study an increase in knowledge of technological literacy by 42%. The pre-test result of 28% increased to 70% after being given treatment. YouTube media is proven to be able to improve technological literacy in elementary school students and can be used as a technology literacy media.

The present study aimed to identify the attitudes of Jordanian school students towards using YouTube as a tool for learning. A descriptive analytical approach is adopted. Questionnaire forms were distributed to 80 9th grade male students. They were selected from at Al-Jubiha Secondary School for Boys in Amman, Jordan. This study was conducted during the second semester of the academic year (2018-2019). All of the questionnaire forms were retrieved and considered valid for statistical analysis. The response rate is 100%. SPSS was used. It was found that YouTube is highly used by Jordanian school students. It was found that Jordanian school students have positive attitudes towards using YouTube as a tool for learning. It was found that respondents consider YouTube as an effective learning tool. It was found that YouTube improve students' learning experiences and academic performance.
