Catastrophe theory in general is a study of the jumps, transitions, discontinuities, and the sudden change of a phenomenon qualitatively. Catastrophe theory is part of Singularity theory and Bifurcation theory. The basic model catastrophe, Cusp, has been used to study the behavior of cognitive intelligence is seen as a state variable (behavioral variables), while aspects of intelligence are used as control variables. This study demonstrates the occurrence of 'jumps' from one level of intelligence to other intelligence level due to changes in one aspect. The purpose of this dissertation is to use a Swallowtail catastrophe model to analyze three psychological factors, namely Intelligence (I), Emotion (E), and Adversity (A) which is thought to support an individual success. Study on students' mental models analysis was done to identify misconceptions about solubility equilibria concept. The method employed in the study was a case study uses a qualitative approach. The participants were 23 students of class XI of a senior high school in Bandung. The instrument used in the study was the Diagnostic Test on Mental Model-Prediction, Observation, Explanation (TDM-POE). The results showed that there were diverse of students' misconceptions about the precipitate formation of a reaction, the effect of common ions and decrease in pH on solubility. Based on the results of the study, many misconceptions occur in the sub concept of the effect of common ions on solubility. Misconceptions arise because students have incomplete mental models at the submicroscopic level.

Konseling multibudaya dalam kehidupan global merupakan suatu keniscayaan untuk menghadapi kemajemukan dan tantangan abad 21. Menjawab tantangan tersebut, kehadiran Konseling Model KIPAS membawa warna baru dalam dunia konseling multibudaya pada umumnya dan khususnya konseling budaya di Indonesia. Konseling Model KIPAS merupakan INOVASI dalam konseling Budaya yang bersifat holistik-komprehensif. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk meninjau konstruk Model KIPAS. Model KIPAS memiliki ciri khas yang sangat lekat dengan budaya Indonesia, karena berakar dari budaya unggul nusantara Indonesia. Konstruk model KIPAS mengintegrasikan berbagai pendekatan konseling dalam pendekatan konvensional, unsur-unsur dan nilai-nilai budaya, psikologis, agama, dan sosial.
