Abstract: Biometric systems have been researched intensively by many organization. It overcomes the conventional security systems by identify ―who you are‖. This paper discusses the current image based biometric systems. It first gives some information about why biometric is needed and what should people look for in biometric systems. Several popular image based biometric systems have been examined in this paper. The technique used in each system for data acquisitions, feature extraction and classifiers are briefly discussed. The biometric systems included are face, fingerprint, hand geometry, hand vein, iris, retina and signature; here also describe the statistical approaches of biometrics. The paper concludes by examining the benefits of multi-modal biometric systems, it is found that there is no one good biometric systems each have its advantages and disadvantages and the performance of each biometric system is summarized.
Biometrics is an evolving technology which is used in various fields like forensics, secured area and security system. Biometric system takes the base for the pattern recognition system that recognise a person with authentication by using different features such as Fingerprint, Retinal Scan, Iris scan, Hand geometry and Face recognition. These are the major biometrics systems. These are used in various applications like ATM, cellular phones, secure access to a building. Biometrics are designed to enhance the security and reduce vulnerability. In this paper different biometrics techniques such as Fingerprint, Iris Scan, Retinal Scan, Face Recognition, Hand Geometry, Voice and Signature are available to implement a biometric system.

Biometrics systems have come into existence from the birth of a human being in different forms, and measure physical characteristics. It differs from man to man and it provides a measurement of physical characteristics. The system speaks about all psychological characteristics considering the permanent identification of each and every person. Actually, these physical characteristics of a human being are permanent ones and do not change throughout life. This paper presents various biometrics techniques in the field of security and identification purposes. Each method covers a number of advantages in comparison to others. Although there are various biometric methods available, still there is a need to compare these methods in order to provide the best and efficient method. Index terms-Biometrics system, Technique, Psychological.

In human identification biometrics is one of the biggest tendencies. Nowadays, in many real applications like forensic, security and other identification and recognition purposes biometrics is widely used. Here we have discussed and comparisons of different biometric features along with their uses. In biometrics fingerprint is the most widely used. Even further multimodal biometrics can improve the reliability and performance of biometric authentication. Keywords: Biometric System, Identification, Recognition

Biometrics refers to innovations for measuring and investigating a person's physiological or behavioral qualities which are remarkable to people subsequently can be utilized to recognize a man. Biometrics is a developing technology which is utilized as a part of different fields like legal sciences, security system and secured territory. These are utilized as a part of different applications like mobiles, protectedentreein a building and ATM.Biometrics are intended to upgrade the safety and diminish defenselessness. The undertaken study aims to present the distinctive biometrics techniques i.e. Fingerprint recognition, Hand geometry recognition, Iris recognition,Face Recognition and Voice recognition which are accessible to implement a biometric system. This study will be helpful for the scholars, researchers and academicians

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in the field of biometrics as a powerful identification technology. Various biometric technologies are based on behavioral and physiological analysis; therefore they must be reliable, robust, simple and cheap. In this paper, we have investigated an analytical comparison of different biometric systems namely: fingerprint, iris, face, voice, keystroke dynamics, signature, retina, etc. and we have classified these methods based on several criteria such as: universality, uniqueness, permanency, intrusiveness, effort, cost, and reliability, as well as the most used biometric systems requested in the market and those that are of greater interest in the current research work, and for each criteria we gave synthetic discussions. Furthermore, we provided a brief overview of biometric methods, then we have described the modes used in a biometric system such as enrollment, verification and identification and we have presented the possible appl...
Biometrics is a rising technology, which has been broadly used in forensics, protected access and prison security. This biometric system is basically a type of pattern recognition system that identifies a person by defining the authentication through using his distinctive biological characteristics i.e. Thumb impression, retina-scan, iris scan, palm geometry, and face recognition are top physiological biometrics and behavioral traits are Speech recognition, keystroke-scan, and signature-scan. In this paper different types of biometric techniques such as Iris scan, retina scans and face recognition techniques are being discussed.
Biometrics is a growing technology, which has been widely used in forensics, secured access and prison security. A biometric system is fundamentally a pattern recognition system that recognizes a person by determining the authentication by using his different biological features i.e. Fingerprint, retina-scan, iris scan, hand geometry, and face recognition are leading physiological biometrics and behavioral characteristic are Voice recognition, keystroke-scan, and signature-scan. In this paper different biometrics techniques such as Iris scan, retina scan and face recognition techniques are discussed.

In today‟s world automation is encompassing virtually every walk of life and human control functions are delegated to technical equipment. No doubt this results in emerging requirement of highly reliable personal identification system for authenticated access of resources and to reject imposters. Traditional password based verification systems can be easily hacked when a password is divulged to an unauthorized user. A number of biometric techniques have been proposed for personal identification by various researchers. Biometric includes something which one does not need to remember or carry a token. Biometric based personal authentication systems use physiological or behavioral traits of a person for recognition purpose. Physiological traits include fingerprint, face, hand geometry etc. and behavioral traits are speech, handwriting, key strokes etc. During past few years, there has been remarkable growth in biometric recognition technology due to the increasing requirement of highly...

Biometric has taken from the Greek word "bios" meaning life, and "Metrikos" managing measurement and has introduced an Environmental Meter. A biometric system is essentially a pattern recognition system which recognizes a person based on special features, specific physiological or behavior vectors. The obtained feature vectors are stored in the database. Generally, a biometric system based on physiological characteristics has a high reliability. In this paper, we try to bring some of biometric identification techniques alongside their advantages and disadvantages.
