Mercurius e seu culto em território olisiponense

This article deals with two issues that relate to the understanding of Mercury's cult in Olisipo's territory. Starting with an interpretative study of an uncommon bronze statuette representing this divinity - which was found at an excavation of a probable Roman villa located next to a Tagus inlet, at Seixal - it includes a subsequent interpretative review of the regional epigraphical assemblage dedicated to Mercurius. The comparative study of these two matters will therefore enable a better understanding of how this cult was developed and, above all, its sociocultural influence on Olisipo.
