Dinámica térmica de cuerpos de aguas eutróficos: caso

2016

Abstract

The study and determination of thermal stratification models is important because of its fundamental influence on the physical, chemical and biological cycles of lakes and reservoirs. In this paper the case of the San Roque Dam (Cordoba, Argentina) is studied and a seasonal thermal regime described. We worked on the database that covers the period from 1999 to 2014. The seasonal behavior of the parameters of temperature, conductivity and dissolved oxygen are analysed in two areas of the reservoir, and an indicator of stratification is applied to the variables. The methodology used was satisfactory to describe the dynamics of stratification San Roque Dam being classified as warm monomictic. The water body presents summer stratification and an autumnal mixing. This behavior negatively affects the water quality of the reservoir because of its eutrophic condition. The mouth river has specific characteristics associated with its water quality and volume.
