The article places emphasis on the youth in the Christiana district, South Africa. It seems that the youth in South Africa face serious challenges and problems. The emphasis is especially on the farming communities in Christiana in the North-West Province who struggle with violence, alcoholism, poverty, unemployment, occultism and Satanism. The growing statistics of drug abuse, substance use, violence, rape, prostitution, child trafficking, etc. make the challenges widespread and lead to the lives of many young people being destroyed. Through holistic missional outreach programmes, the youth of the Christiana district can be a great harvest to be reaped because the programmes give hope and enrich lives in spite of the challenges the community is facing. The LIFEPLAN engagement programme, in particular, is a training and equipping tool, which includes various important and relevant aspects that deal with the above-mentioned problems and seeks creative solutions to inspire and equip ...
International churches are rapidly growing organizations with a large body of congregation members. In these settings, there is a focus on the development of leaders. This dissertation explores leadership development concepts and the impact on the growth of an international church whilst giving three strategies to develop leaders. This dissertation begins with defining leadership as well as exploring various leadership development models and theories. The literature review further explores leadership and churches in an international context. Key issues and limitations faced in leadership development programs and the cultural challenges faced in international churches are identified. The current state of leadership development programs is positioned in international churches and provides three strategies (training, coaching, and application) for effective leadership development. Directions for future research are given within the context of international churches.

The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) is a grace of renewal in the Holy Spirit with a worldwide character and many expressions in the Catholic Church, but it is neither uniform nor unified. It does not have a single founder nor a group of founders, and has no membership lists. Rather it is a flow of grace that allows individuals and groups to express themselves in different ways and forms of organisation and activities, often quite independent of one another, in different stages and modes of development, with differing emphases. Nevertheless, they share the same fundamental experience and espouse the same general goals. This pattern of loose-knit relationships is found at the diocesan and national levels as well as at the international level. These relationships are very often characterised by free association, dialogue and collaboration rather than by integration into an ordered structure. Leadership is characterised more by offering service to those who want it rather that by governance. In several realities the CCR organises itself like an Ecclesial Movement, but there are also structures such as Communities, Networks, Schools of Evangelisation, Television Stations, Associations, Religious Institutes and Seminaries, as well as Publishing Houses, Musicians, Missionaries, and Preachers. All of these, though not formally associated in a specific structure have a “charismatic” profile.

This chapter investigates the biblical-theological and missiological basis of evangelism in disadvantaged communities. It is important that the missio-Dei perspective is key to all areas within the present study. Mission is the concern of the Triune God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, for the whole of His creation. The Father sent the Son and the Son sent the Holy Spirit. Through Jesus Christ, and by the Holy Spirit, God, for His own glory, unite people from every tribe, nation, kingdom, and language to worship Him forever in the New World. The Gospel of Jesus Christ must be proclaimed. Therefore, it is crucial that churches should wholeheartedly partake in the mission of God in the world. The church is the instrument of God to proclaim his kingdom in all parts of life. Therefore, believers should be faithful to the calling of God. They do this by following Jesus and partaking in the missio Dei, bringing love, hope and peace to a lost broken world. God chose people to build his ki...
