Abstract: Urinary incontinence is not only medical but also a social problem which is more common between women than men throughout the world and in our country and it affects negatively the life quality. Even though it is not a life threatening problem, the disease which is connected with continuous involuntary micturition and irritation distresses the individual. Incontinence disturbance, as it gives the feeling of contamination and inadequacy, on the ground of fear of stigmatized by society, denial of symptoms can be at the forefront. This denial sense of symptoms caused disinclination in the initiation of incontinence therapy and to maintain the therapy, social isolation and sense of shame. The perception of the smell of urine of the person who suffers from incontinence by another person, evokes the social judgement in the way of failure of looking after herself.
