Reading, by being taken into consideration the various aspects in different ways, has been identified by great many people. The reason why these definitions differ from each other is that reading becomes an invisible mental process. Briefly, reading is a process that makes the written symbols meaningful, conceivable and interpretable. Undoubtedly, deriving a meaning from the text and understanding and interpreting the ideas form according to the mental and physical properties of the person who makes this action. The text is just a reminder in the process of reading. Because, the main purpose is making sense the message sent in the brain of the person reading by being coded in the alphabetic ways, and the text is only tool. In this study, the mental and physical aspects of reading process which cover vision, perception, understanding, comprehension, evaluation and interpretation stages are emphasized.
