In this paper, an indirect vehicle-bridge interaction measurement approach for structural health monitoring (SHM) of bridges is explored. The method gathers data from the dynamic responses of vehicles moving over bridges and utilizes advanced signal processing techniques to infer the condition of the bridge. By simplifying the vehicle-bridge interaction scenario and employing a numerical oscillator-beam model, preliminary results demonstrate the potential use of this approach in identifying damage in bridge structures, showing advantages over traditional direct monitoring methods.
