It is universally acknowledged that a command over spoken and written English is a sinequanon of success, professional or personal. The methods, principles and techniques adopted in schools and colleges in non-native English countries, not to speak of India, have not met the expected success in equipping students with the requisite linguistic skills to express themselves through speaking and writing. So many discussions have taken place among scholarly circles to address the lacunae resulting in the formulation of various methods like the Grammar Translation Method, the Direct Method, The Audio-Lingual Method, the Silent Way, the Bilingual Method, Community Language Learning, Communicative Language Teaching Approach, Structure Approach and Situational Approach. In the luxuriant of these numerous methods, the right approach becomes conspicuous by its absence in other words all these approaches will only help the learner be confused in acquiring English language competence. This rather gloomy picture has made the writer of this paper seek a solution to the problem resulting in his invention of an easy approach on the part of English language teachers in imparting English communication skills.
The aim of this article is to briefly analyse and present communicative approach and linguistic theories that can be used within an English language class; therefore a short insight into theory of communicative language teaching as well as definition of some basic concepts are presented. Another aim is to demonstrate that if teachers want their students to communicate effectively and fluently they should turn to various resources whether in print or electronic form of sources and search for variety of communicative activities that would encourage students to speak because some students´ books do not cover that area sufficiently.

Overview Communication is by definition a two-sided process. A message cannot be communicated unless there is someone to receive it. A student is placed in various situations in his/her daily life where s/he has to respond to many spoken messages. Therefore as teachers of English, our interest is to train students to understand and respond to the realisation of these forms in communication. LISTENING As you know, speaking is a productive skill and listening is a receptive rather than a productive skill, but it is an equally important skill. Most learners spend considerable more time in listening to the foreign language than in producing it themselves. The aim of this paper is to study the myriad methods that a teacher can use while teaching English to students in India. Seeing the worldwide importance of English language, it has become essential to have different approaches for teaching English in India. Even after so many efforts students do not get proficiency in English speaking and writing. The reason behind it is that in India students are not getting congenial environment and good facilities at the primary level for English language learning. Even after knowing the importance of English most of the students of the higher classes are unable to write correct sentences and correct spellings of even simple words. So at this level of higher education, it becomes a challenge for a teacher to train these students in acquiring the basic English language skills as well as make them proficient in the art of speaking and writing. It needs lot of efforts on the part of a teacher. He can follow some traditional methods and can invent his own innovative methods according to the skills and level of knowledge of the students. He should put himself in the shoes of the learners and find out the ways that can be most effective for them. He should make English language learning classes livelier by involving the students in different language learning activities. This paper is an attempt to highlight some of the activities and methods that a teacher can use in his class. This is also an attempt to emphasize different activities and methods needed to deal with the students of different backgrounds. So the teacher of English language should be given liberty to use his novel methods according to the need of the students to find out the better results in teaching English language. This paper builds mainly upon my own experiences as a teacher of English and the interactions with several teachers of English.

This paper aims at establishing the need to focus on the factors affecting on language learners' English speaking skill. According to the review of literature, appropriate speaking instruction was found to be the learners' priority and a field in which they need more attention.
