Training is indispensable strategic tool forenhancing employee performance and organizations keep increasing trainingbudget on yearly basis with believe that it will earn them competitive edge.The main objective of this study is to examine the effectiveness of training on employees performance and organisation competitiveadvantage with reference to software industry at Chennai city. Descriptive research methodwas adopted for this study using one hundred and fourty five validquestionnaires which were completed by selected employees in I.T industries in Chennai city using convenience sampling technique. The datacollected were carefully analyzed using descriptive statistics to represent theraw data in a meaningful manner. The results show that strong relationshipexists between training and development, employees' performance andcompetitive advantage. Summary of the findings indicates that there is strongrelationship between the tested dependent variable and independentconstruct. However, I.T industries should not relent in their quest totrain their staff to develop new ideas that will keep improving and retainingemployee performance.

Training is the act of increasing the knowledge and skill of an employee for doing particular job .The training is to acquire new skill, technical knowledge, problemsolving, etc. Training improves the performance of employees on present jobs and prepares them for taking up new assignments in the future. Training also helps in the development of the employees. The main objective of the study is to measure the effectiveness of the training in the organization and its impact on employee job performance in the organisation. For collecting the required primary data, a structured questionnaire, with multiple choice and close-ended questions was administered to 60 employees in the organisation through the simple random sampling method. In this study Chi-Square test, Correlation and Anova have been used to interpret the data collected. Based on the research findings the researcher offered suitable suggestions for improving the employee training and development in the organization.

Training is the nerve that synthesized the smooth functioning of the organization and enhancing the quality of work life of the employees. Development is a process that leads to qualitative as well as quantitative advancements in the organization, especially at the managerial level, it is less considered with physical skills and is more concerned with knowledge, values, attitudes and behavior in addition to specific skills. The purpose of this paper is to measure the impact of training and development on employee's performance and productivity. This paper is quantitative in nature. Data for the paper have been collected through primary source that are from questionnaires surveys of Odisha Cement Limited, Odisha. The study result implies that there is a positive impact of training and development in the improvement of productivity and employee's performance of OCL.

Employees are an organization's most important asset, and they need to be trained and developed to close the gap in knowledge and skills caused by today's fast-paced work environment. Training and development is a real tool that helps give employees the knowledge and skills they need to do their jobs well and efficiently. The aim of this paper was to figure out how training and development affects the productivity of employees, figure out what their relationship is, and suggest ways for business organisations to improve the productivity of their workers so they can meet the challenges of the 21st century. The number of employees in this work's sample was 80. A questionnaire was used to gather the information. SPSS software was used to analyse the data. The results of this work have shown that the five independent variables of training method, training period, selection of trainers, delivery styles, and comfort and convenience have a relationship with employee productivity in the company. The results of this study will help the management of organisation figure out how staff training affects the performance of the organisation as a whole and find performance problems that can be fixed through training and development.

Industries are considered to be the engines of economic growth. This is more so in the case of the developing countries like India which aims at achieving faster economic growth. However, with the poor capital formation, the objective of achieving is a higher economic growth could be achieved only through the development of small scale and medium scale industries. The IT and ITeS industries are playing a multifaceted role in the economy of Indian like the creation of employment, contributing to export earnings and eventually to the state and the national income of the economy. With such an immense role being play by the IT and ITeS industries, the major problem confronting the industries is their poor output and high average cost of production. With the important characteristics of such industries being the labour intensive units, an important cause of such a poor performance is their poor labour productivity. Most employees have some weaknesses in their workplace skills. A training program allows you to strengthen those skills that each employee needs to improve. An employee who receives the necessary training is able to perform the job better. A training program allows you to strengthen those skills that each employee needs to improve. More specifically, awell-structured training and development program organized by the firm ensures the employees to upgrade and update his skills and background knowledge constantly and consistently. Providing the necessary training creates an overall knowledgeable staff with employees who can take over for one another as needed, work on teams or work independently without constant help and supervision from others. A development program brings all employees to a higher level so they all have similar skills and knowledge.
