Brought out of the shadow The article discusses Adam Mickiewicz.Proza artystyczna: opowiadania, szkice, fragmenty. Prose artistique: contess, essais, fragments, which is a bilingual (French-Polish) endeavour in translation and editing – broadly speaking, one of historical and literary character. The book was edited by Joanna Pietrzak-Thébault in collaboration with whom Maria Prussak, Krzysztof Rutkowski and Jacek Wójcicki. Maria Prusak initiated the project and coordinated the proceedings of the team. Mickiewicz’s works in French received new translation and were edited anew.

Milewska-Waźbińska Barbara, Exulowie wszystkich czasów, czyli Owidiusz i inni (The Exuls of All the Times or Ovid and the Others). The aim of this paper is to examine how 20th century draws inspiration from Ovid's exile and his works. The paper examines how Jacek Kaczmarski offers a poet "a response" to Ovidian exile.

For years, Czech (and Czechoslovak) cinema has been associated with excellent traditions and a trusty brand. Apart from outstanding feature films, which have always been welcomed by cinema- -goers, Czech documentaries are increasingly gaining popularity. In this field a new generation of documentary filmmakers is rising to fame. In recent years, nobody has been more provoking and irritating, as well as prompting the average Czech to reflect upon his or her behaviour, than Vít Klusák and Filip Remunda. These two talented Czech documentary filmmakers, alumni of the renowned FAMU – Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, are controversial scandalmongers and at the same time original cult artists. This article concentrates on the problem of transgression in the novel Podobojí by Daniela Hodrová. This problem is tracked from the perspective of romantic and post-romantic references to the literary and historical tradition (e.g. the Czech National Revival). One of the key concepts here is death and the metaphor of doubling, which makes the characters in the novel ontologically ambiguous entities. Death is treated in a confrontation with romantic themes, such as the ghost, ghoul, and the double.

"NOTĄ DO FRANCUZÓW" "Niewidocznym" autografem nazywam dobrze zachowany rękopis Adama Mickiewicza z dwoma tekstami charakteryzującymi się starannym, jednorodnym duktem pisma, z niewielką liczbą skreśleń i poprawek: z wierszem [Jak drzewo przed wydaniem owocu...] oraz z tzw. Notą do Francuzów, w języku francuskim, rozpoczynającą się od słów: "Dans l'homme de Dieu est deposée l'idée de Napoleon [...]". Autograf składający się z dwu kart arkusika (ze śladami złożenia na krzyż) przechowywany jest w Muz. Mick. Par. jako rkp. 84. Papier formatu 20,8 × 13,5, bez znaków wodnych, jest tak cienki, że przebija atrament z zapisu na drugiej stronie; na pierwszej karcie w lewym górnym rogu ma wyciśnięty znak firmowy z koroną i z napisem: "Germain en Laye-Dupré" [...] 1 . Jest to autograf dwóch tekstów: na górze pierwszej strony karty znajduje się dwuwiersz: Jak drzewo przed wydaniem owocu w zarodek, Tak całe życie zbiera się w pierś, w sam jej środek 2 . Pod dwuwierszem umieszczony został wspomniany już tekst w języku francuskim. Rękopis, oznaczony w Bibliotece Polskiej w Paryżu numerem 84, nazywam "niewidocznym", ponieważ o ile dwuwiersz [Jak drzewo...] jest znany, o tyle tzw.
