Православно-старокатолическият диалог (преговори за обединение)

Abstract

Ivan Yovchev, Orthodox – Old Catholic Dialogue (Negotiations forUnification). Negotiations for unification between Old Catholics and Orthodox began shortly after the establishment of the Old Catholic Churchas an independent church unit, which origin is from the Roman Catholic Church. The main reason for its separation from Roman Catholicismwas the newly accepted dogmas of the First Vatican Council by Roman Catholics, which contradict what was established by of the ancient Church, such as the dogma of the „infallibility of the pope“. Negotiations are a longprocess that has lasted almost a hundred years. And despite of the resultsachieved in synchronizing the dogmatic teaching, the desired unificationis not realized. Today, the dialogue is at a standstill, and the distance between Orthodox and Old Catholics seems to be insurmountable and final.
