Trompe d'Oeil: a picaresca entre o oriente e o ocidente

The present work aims to establish comparative links between the western picaresque literature – lazarilha – and the oriental literature, mainly the one of haikaiss minimalism and Noh theater. Hence, evidence was found that the figure of the pícaro, fixed to the universal imaginary, is supported by a grammar of foreclosure. The figure of the pícaro has always been linked to the sign of hunger and the need to satisfy primary desires, especially phallic ones, and that is why lies or truth appear on an imaginary stage theatricalized by the excess of baroque images or by poetic minimalism. The trompe-l'oeil, in this sense, presents baroque developments: those who have language are kings and those who do not are hollow like a kabuki doll
