In this Research paper, we have discussed a proposed system that can be a visionary eye for a blind person. A common goal in computer vision research is to build machines that can replicate the human vision system. For example, to recognize and describe objects/scenes. People who are blind to overcome their real daily visual challenges. To develop a machine that can work by the vocal and graphical assistive answer. A machine can work on voice assistant and take the image taken by a person and after an image processing and extract the result after neural networks. And it all happens in real-time.

In this world, certain people are visually impaired and they face a lot of problems while doing there day-today work. Physical movement is one of the biggest challenges for the visually impaired. People with complete blindness or low vision often have a difficult time in self-navigating unfamiliar environments. Hence this work is aiming for developing a device which will help them as their personal assistant. The goal of the present project is to model an object detector to detect objects for visually impaired people and other commercial purposes by recognizing the objects at a particular distance. The object recognition deep learning model utilizes the You Only Look Once(YOLO) algorithm and a voice announcement is synthesized using text-to-speech (TTS) to make it easier for the blind to get information about objects. This system proposes conglomeration of technologies like Image processing, Speech processing etc, so the problems faced by blind people can be reduced to certain extent. Object recognition methods in computer vision, Image processing, Text to Speech conversion can be embedded in a single object : SMART GLASSES (spectacles).

Blind people face the problem in daily life. They can't even walk without any aid. Many times they rely on others for help. Several technologies for the assistance of visually impaired people have been developed. Among the various technologies being utilized to assist the blind, Computer Vision-based solutions are emerging as one of the most promising options due to their affordability and accessibility. This paper proposes a system for visually impaired people. The proposed system aims to create a wearable visual aid for visually impaired people in which speech commands are accepted by the user. Its functionality addresses the identification of objects and signboards. This will help the visually impaired person to manage day-to-day activities and navigate through his/her surroundings. Raspberry Pi is used to implement artificial vision using python language on the Open CV platform.

The most crucial sense for any living thing is vision. But due to a few unlucky circumstances, some people become blind as they age, while others are born blind. Extremely disabled people who are visually impaired are unable to move straight away or perform any fundamental tasks like a normal person. This artwork suggests a basic electronic guided incorporated vision device that is functional and configurable to facilitate the mobility of blind and visually impaired people both indoors and outside. The suggested device aims to develop a wearable visual resource for blind people in which receiving instructions verbally from the user is standard. Its capability includes identification of technology and people. This will benefit those who are blind. man or woman to control daily activities and move around their environment. The device enables the disabled people to be fairly self-organized and offers affordable, reliable solutions. To put it briefly, the "VIRTUAL EYE FOR BLIND USING DEEP LEARNING" assignment is intended to enable visually impaired people who have lost their sight and support them with basic mobility using an effective economic system.

Eye diseases usually cause blindness and visual impairment. According to the World Health Organization, around 40 million people are blind, while another 250 million have some form of visual impairment. They come across many troubles in their daily life, especially while navigating from one place to another on their own. They often depend on others for help to satisfy their day-today needs. So, it is quite a challenging task to implement a technological solution to assist them. Several technologies have been developed for the assistance of visually impaired people. One such attempt is that we would wish to make an Integrated Machine Learning System that allows the blind victims to identify and classify real-time objects generating voice feedback and distance. Which also produces warnings whether they are very close or far away from the thing.

Developing a tool for the visually impaired people is a trivial area of concern. However, use of computer vision in these devices is a fairly new trend and recent topic of interest. There are several works using computer vision techniques which focus on specific requirements of blind people. But there is no existing methods that help to solve all the basic needs of blind person. In this paper, we propose an idea of a device which can capture images in real time and comprehend its equivalent speech directly into the ear of visually impaired person. This new system may solve some of major problems of blind persons that are still exists. The prototype facilitates object detection using image recognition techniques. Open Computer Vision (OpenCV) performs image analysis, classification of images and prediction of the type of object on household object dataset. This prediction is converted to audio output using gTTS (Google Text to Speech Converter). This audio output can be fed to earpho...

A cheap guidance system based on AT89C52 microcontroller is developed for facilitating visually impaired people. Ultrasonic sensors are used to calculate distance of the obstacles around the blind person to guide the user towards the available path. Output is in the form of voice which the blind person can hear e.g., right, left etc. In its advance mode, the system will be able to recognize objects using image processing algorithms. Results are presented to show the validity and performance of the system.
Assistive technologies are being developed for visually impaired people to live independently and confidently. This project work proposes a camera-based assistive text reading framework to help blind persons to read text labels and product packaging from hand-held objects in their daily lives. The project work is framed into three stages: Image capturing, Text recognition , Speech output. The project work can be able to insist the blind people in their daily life. The entire application will run on Raspberry pi B. The Raspberry pi B is a credit card sized single computer or So C , or System on a Chip, is a method of placing all necessary electronics for running a computer on a single chip. Instead of having an individual chip for the CPU, GPU, USB controller, RAM everything is compressed down into one package. Raspberry pi B needs an Operating system to start up. In the aim of cost reduction, the Raspberry pi B omits any on-board non-volatile memory used to store the boot loaders, Linux Kernels and file systems as seen in more traditional embedded systems. Rather, a SD/MMC card slot is provided for this purpose. After boot load, as per the application program Raspberry pi B will get execute. Obstacle detection is also provided in this system to recognise the obstacle in front and produce the voice output through Ear phone to blind users.

Independent living is one of the major concerns for people around the globe. But when it comes to people who are visually challenged, they always rely on other people to get their daily things done. In today's advanced technical environment, the need for self-sufficiency is recognized in the situation of visually impaired people who are socially restricted. More than 90% of individuals with blindness and low vision are mostly seen in developing countries. Visually impaired people always need the help of others, and they rely on others for essential needs. In this project, we developed a system that uses a conglomeration of technologies like Object detection, Speech Recognition, etc, to solve the problems faced by blind people to a certain extent. It makes use of a camera module that acts as a virtual eye for the visually impaired and helps them recognize objects surrounding them. This system also includes other features like searching Wikipedia and sending emails. All the features are implemented using a headset that provides voice assistance for an easier lifestyle for the visually impaired. The whole system was developed in the Python programming language.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR VISION IMPAIRED PEOPLE, 2023
Abstract—This paper approaches on how Artificial Intelligence can enhance the regular life of the vision impaired individuals. They suffer a lot when they are submitted with unexpected situations which they might not be aware of. People are anxious about their safety when they walk alone in the city. Sighted people can look out for any signs of danger, imagine about the vision impaired individuals who are not aware of their surroundings. To surmount this problem, the AI system recognizes what the nearby person is doing, if he is about to attack, the system will detect and warn the user that someone is about to attack him and also it gives the instructions to do the necessary action. Artificial emotional Intelligence also known as emotion recognition and emotion detection technology. This technology is used to detect the emotions of the person. AI technologies such as image processing, deep learning, voice output, and voice recognition are used to build the system. Even Big data can be used to store the images and voice files. Companies such as Microsoft, Facebook, Accenture are all intended to help the blind using AI. Keyword-Big data, Deep learning, Face recognition, Image processing, Image recognition,Speech recognition, Voice output, Voice recognition.
