Abstract

Abstract This article has the main intention of bringing to the reader an existing debate on the ambiguity of the worship of Heracles: as hero and as god. Thus, since Pindar, Heracles is considered as a ( Hērôs theós ), that is, a hero god. We will try to discuss a little about this emblematic figure of Greek mythology and religion, its displeasures as a human given the persecution of Hera until her apotheosis to Olympus. Of the twelve famous works, we shall concentrate our attention on the work, which involves the capture of the oxen of Gérion and the strife with it; and finally, will be presented his presence in Sicily.
