Not only in religious book but the views of woman differ indifferent states and cities. In some areas woman was considered to be equal to men but the other states woman was treated in hatred and burden for the nation. This is the real reason the country India is still a developing nation and some sociologists faces difficulty in assessing the position of women in India. In this present scenario where men and women is walking hand in hand in all aspects of fields. Thus, the issue of woman empowerment is an acute matter to be looked upon. Therefore, the woman is the one who strongly believe in to conservation and protection of environment as environment is one of the essential aspect which needs to be taken care of. In recent times some brave ladies named MedhaPatekar who was a socialist, Maneka Gandhi who was an environmentalist are actively participating in the safeguarding and protection of environment. India cannot flourish until and unless the woman is not participated in the political, social, economic and environmental issues. It is basic responsibility of the nation to include the women in every aspect of life. Therefore, attempts have been made to increase the status of women in the society. The status of women in India has been subjected to many great changes over the past few decades.Women have been progressed, educated and employed by reforms and upliftment which brought a radical change in the society but without touching the roots of the problems that women have been fighting with. Women's rights under the constitution mainly include equality, dignity, and freedom from discrimination; additionally, India has various statutes governing the rights of women. However, women in India continue to face numerous problems such as sexual assault, gender inequality and dowry. The status of women in India is like the eco system of the earth, losing its actual shape and qualities and taking a new change imbalanced and unwanted leading to a smaller problem to a bigger one.
Dignity to each created being and the creation of the creator is the utmost respect and prospect to the creator and the protector of the universe. Woman and the man is the epitome of the creation of the creator. The image and the likeness of the God are to be experienced and expounded by saluting one another and living in unity and diversity. God has never ceased or eased to speak, God speaks ever anew in every event and moment with content, in every change and in every age without any damage. Every man or woman in need is God's urgent word, deed and bread. There is much confusion and fusion today about the modern concept and precept of Indian womanhood. The injustice and discrimination against women cover every area of social living and every stage and page of life. Emancipation of women from discriminative attitudes, unjust systems and structures of exploitation created by a male-dominated society is a crying need today, especially in India where, as is well known, they are denied even the right to be born, let alone the other forms of injustice. Objective of the study is to enhance the dignity of women and to explore the unity is the possibility in the emancipation of women.

Woman constitutes the key role in the Indian society. Women in ancient India enjoyed high status in society and their condition was good. The Ancient and medieval status of women in modern Indian society regarding Equality, Education, Marriage and Family life, Race and Gender, Religion and Culture is maintained or deteriorated. The Vedic women had economic freedom. Some women were engaged in teaching work. Home was the place of production. Spinning and weaving of clothes were done at home. Women also helped their husbands in agricultural pursuit. In the religious field, wife enjoyed full rights and regularly participated in religious ceremonies with her husband. Religious ceremonies and sacrifices were performed jointly by the husband and wife. Women even participated actively in religious discourses. The status of women improved a little during the Buddhist period though there was no tremendous change. The role of women in Ancient Indian Literature is immense. Ancient India had many learned ladies. The Medieval period (Period between 500 A.D to 1500 A.D) proved to be highly disappointing for the Indian women, for their status further deteriorated during this period. Through this study we come to the conclusion that as the women has equal participation in human development. She is half of the human race. But she lacks in society. This article deals with the changes in women's status from the Rig-Vedic Period to the present era. Rig Vedic Aryan women enjoyed a position of equality and were respected in family and society. The status of women deteriorated in society. Buddhism and Jainism upheld women's status to some extent, but during British rule, the condition of women in society was far from satisfactory. The Hindu women were victims of Sati, Purdah, female infanticide, child marriage, etc. This condition prevailed almost all over the country. The emergence of a renaissance in the nineteenth century opened the eye of Indian intelligentsia to the disgraceful social condition of women. Religious and social organisations like the Brahmo Samaj, The Aryan Samaj and Ram Krishan Mission were sought for the cause of women. In the twentieth century, some progress was observed in women's education which gave rise to the elevation of women's status visa -vis political affairs of the country.

The paper reveals the concept of empowerment as well as the status of Indian women. Important constitutional, legal and other provisions are also described in a systematic way. The paper covers the status of women during different historical periods such as at earlier time as on today specific gender was getting equal status. But they had faced some difficulties during post-Vedic and epic ages. Many a time they were treated as Goddesses and at other times merely as a slave. From early 20th century (national movement) their status has been changed slowly and gradually. After the independence of India, the constitutional makers and national leaders strongly fought for equal status of women with men. As a result, the women occupied the respectable positions in all walks of the fields. Yet, they have not absolutely freed some discrimination and harassment of the society. Absolute numbers of women have not been able to establish their potentialities.

One of the major problems of Indian society is the inferior position accorded to women. They do not enjoy equal status and their condition is far from satisfactory. In this article, we have tried to cover the condition, status and position of women in a different period, viz. Ancient, Medieval, British and Present Time. Any assessment of the status of women has to start with the social framework, social structures, cultural norms and value systems that influence social expectations regarding the behaviour of both men and women and determine women’s roles and their position in society. A society is composed of many institutions and most important of them are the system of decent, family and kinship, marriage and religious traditions. They provide the ideology and moral basis for men and women about their rights and duties and their status and role.
Human beings are granted rights by society not only as citizens of a state but because they are human, however, women’s rights are often violated not only in the political field but also in day-to-day life, in the family, in households and in the public domain. Women have always been a part of literature throughout the ages. Unfortunately, they have often been depicted as weaker, inferior, could not survive on their own and could not do their work by themselves.
The U.N held a millennium summit in 2000 with a robust declaration for bringing about gender equality. The disparity between men and women in India is glaring for historical reasons evolved in stages through changed situations SocioEconomic Fields with greater emphasis on patriarchal in sowed rather than on metriarchical. However, the question before us is whether UN summit of 2000 took into consideration the SocioEconomic relations of India being subsequently led to the wider chasm/rupture between Indian women and men based on Socio-Religious and economic cords leading further is the denigration and denial of her right to life, dignity etc. These papers mainly focus on women's right and attempts to explore the possibilities of bringing uniformity in terms of rights and responsibilities though the women rights in India have evolved in the patriarchal style and hence have patriarchal orientation. Throughout this paper a solemn attempts has been made to discuss the challenges before that Indian women such as female feticide, dowry, trafficking, of girls and denial of their due rights. However, the objectives of the paper are what are the possibilities and practices that could revamp Indian society with gender being equal and secondly, the legal option and constitutional guarantees will be dealt with exploring the possibilities and prospects for Indian women to be equal to men.

The entire world is undergoing major ecological crisis not only due to Covid-19 pandemic but mostly due to social constructivist approach of environment. Social constructivist theory emphasize that individuals learn when they actively construct knowledge and understanding (Santrock, 2001). Since women have a close connection with nature and environment due to the social construction of femininity where they are portrayed as caregivers of family with soft, docile and nurturant ideals, their relation with Mother Earth is age-old. Historically, they have always been the major protectors of natural resources against any environmental destruction in order to draw a link between andro-centrism and environmental destruction. Women, all over the world have always been responsible for the conservation of resources for the families. They also lead the charge in terms of exploring the world's water resources and even protection of forest resources in order to prevent it from deforestation. World Bank (1991) also highlighted the role of women in environmental conservation including their role in the management of natural resources like water, soil, forest and energy which has a profound impact on their everyday lives since women embody reservoir of traditional and contemporary knowledge about the natural environment surrounding them. Further, their role has also been emphasized in one of the sustainable development goals which include gender equality. It is against this backdrop that the present paper attempts to explore the role of Indian women in ecological sustainability. It also analyzes the contribution of women in ive environmental movements of India along with the role of women environmental activists in ecological sustainability. Methodologically, content analysis has been used in order to explore the contribution of Indian women in different environmental movements of India as eco-feminists. The indings reveal that Indian women being close to nature has always played a signi icant role in different environmental movements of India like Bishnoi movement, Chipko movement, Appiko movement, Narmada Bachao Andolan, Navdanya movement where women environmental activists like Amrita Devi, Medha Patkar, Vandana Shiva and Radha Bhatt have contributed either as leaders or active participants of the movement. Presently, there are many environmental activists who have also helped in the conservation of their environment and preventing it from any kind of environmental degradation and ecological crisis caused by social constructivist approach such as deforestation and lumbering. However, the non-governmental organizations, environmental conservation agencies and the common man need to recognize and mobilize women to protect and enrich the natural resources for sustainable purpose. Thereby, since women are more close to nature, they are always able to understand the environmental issues and problems in a better way. It is due to this reason that is the need of the hour to consider including their views in implementing several policies and projects for a gender-inclusive environment.
The basic point in the discourse regarding women empowerment is that women empowerment will flourish and enhance in the fertileness and friendliness of societal climate rather than just any law and regulation or policy. The present paper strives to look over glimpse of women empowerment in context of India. The present paper strives to scrutinize the status of women and their position in contemporary time. And in doing so I endeavor to examine the issue of women empowerment through the lens of Gender equality and societal constructs rules and norms; Freedom, right, and Violence; issue of Missing women; Property rights and the role of State in post independence era. India being the believer and advocator of democratic society believes that gender inequality is biggest impediment for creating an egalitarian and just society. To change the status of women position and empower them is not just lies with state policy institution, their policy or feminist movement rather a broader social attitude is utmostly needed.
Women constitute a unique resource of a nation. They are Gods greatest gift to humanity. Women are central to the social and economic aspirations of the country. They have been playing a major role in shaping the society by providing the moral force in the home environment. Thus the position of women is the half of the human capital of the country and one of the indices of national development. They are the embodiment of Shakti, the creator and destroyer of human race. It needs recognition that women are builders and molders of nation's destiny. They are the partner and soul of men and behind every successful men, there lies a women. But it is deplorable to treat that they are the most neglected and deprive segment of the society. In most families a daughter is viewed as liabilities
Indian women have reached on the top of the world. Their status has increased in all the aspects. In the fields of politics, education, economy, sports and so on there have been remarkable achievements to the credit of women. But it is not proportional to the actual talents and capabilities of Indian women. Constitution of India provides equal status for both women and men.

Across the world women have been ill-treated and have experienced exploitation in some or the other form .Over the years we have see a change in the way people look at women today , women are empowered , they have established themselves in every sector and are provided with ample opportunities .However in India the situation is different , even today women are treated as inhuman and have remained victims of sexual harassment , rape , domestic violence , We can still conclude that in urban India there has been transaction and people are accepting Proximity but in the rural area it complete restriction on the freedom and opportunity for women , in urban area we can describe the change as freedom and restriction being dominated by a male authority .The Social stain in our Indian society has left behind from developing in many sectors , Today India requires more employees where as we see a decline in the rate of women leaving the jobs due to safety issues .India day by day is becoming an unsafe place for women , but whom do we blame the government or the mindset of the people or the old orthodox beliefs of the society. We need to adopt liberal and progressive attitude in the society and put an end to social blot existing to make India empower itself in the true sense of the time and bring back the old glory where women were respected and worshipped .
The vulnerable condition of women around the world is repeated in India but in more miserable ways. The position of women in the developed world is certainly better. More and more attention is drawn towards raping the innocent victims in India. So many are the records of such crimes published that one cannot repeat them as they simply pour in. More are the happenings unrecorded for unless something creates uproar in the society interfered by political voice they go unnoticed.

Gandhian ideology is the set of religious and social ideas adopted and developed by Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and is based on two pillars – Truth and Non-violence. The principles of ‘Satyagraha’ nonviolent resistance, ‘Sarvodaya’ progress of all, ‘Swaraj’ self-restraint and self-rule and ‘Swadeshi’ self-sufficiency are its outcome. Empowerment of women and their political, social, economic and health status are the most important goals of any nation. It is also important for achieving sustainable development. Mahatma Gandhi was a social and political reformer and he strongly struggled for this purpose. The present paper discusses the efforts made by him for the upliftment and empowerment of women. It is the finding that Gandhi emphasised that women empowerment is necessary for nation building and three important factors that can promote it: education, employment and changes in social structure. These three components are equally important and mutually related. He believed that unless women gain their respect in social, economic and political fields on the basis of education, knowledge and skills, they cannot gain self-respect for themselves nor they can be independent in any field. It is concluded that throughout his life, Mahatma Gandhi inspired Indians to take concrete and practical initiatives about the empowerment of women, which would bring them out of the centuries-old orthodox customs, rituals and rules of society which along with their social slavery have been responsible for mental enslavement. Her views regarding women empowerment are also relevant in the contemporary scene and scenario when the empowerment of women has been in the national agenda.

Empowering women is a debatable subject. It was the strong urge of Indian constitution and national leaders just after Independence that women should enjoy equal status with men in society. Although today, in all walks of the fields, we have seen women holding respectable roles. Yet, some prejudice and violence against women’ in society has not been fully abolished. Number of women are very less who have been able to determine their ability. Gender inequalities and prejudice are still observed today in India. A century ago, Mahatma Gandhi pioneered in this sector, paving the path for women's emancipation and advancement. An attempt has been made in the article to analyze status of women’s & gender equality in India. It is believed that women have equal rights to participate in the activities and has identical freedom than male in today society. Keywords: Gender equality, Women empowerment etc.
