Law Abstracts: 10th Annual International Conference

2012

This abstract book includes all the abstracts of the papers presented at the 9th Annual International Conference on Law, 16-19 July 2012, organized by the Athens Institute for Education and Research. In total there were 43 papers and 51 presenters, coming from 17 different countries (Australia, Barbados, Brazil, Finland, Greece, Hong Kong, Germany, India, Iran, Iraq, Korea, Kurdistan, South Africa, Taiwan, Ukraine, UK and USA). The conference was organized into 9 sessions that included areas such as Law e.t.c As it is the publication policy of the Institute, the papers presented in this conference will be considered for publication in one of the books of ATINER.

2017

This book includes the abstracts of all the papers presented at the 14th Annual International Conference on Law, 10-13 July 2017, organized by the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER). In total 34 papers submitted by 37 presenters, coming from 13 different countries (Australia, Brazil, India, Israel, Italy, Romania, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, UAE, UK and USA). The conference was organized into 10 sessions that included a variety of topic areas such as international law, corporate law, human rights, and more. A full conference program can be found before the relevant abstracts. In accordance with ATINER’s Publication Policy, the papers presented during this conference will be considered for inclusion in one of ATINER’s many publications.

This book includes the abstracts of all the papers presented at the 15th Annual International Conference on Law (16-19 July 2018), organized by the Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER).

2014

This abstract book includes all the abstracts of the papers presented at the 11th Annual International Conference on Law, 14-17 July 2014, organized by the Athens Institute for Education and Research. In total there were 52 papers and 53 presenters, coming from 25 different countries (Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Nigeria, Palestine, Poland, Portugal, Republic of South Africa, Romania, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, UK, USA). The conference was organized into XIII sessions that included areas such as International Law, Family Law, Legal Education, Rights e.t.c As it is the publication policy of the Institute, the papers presented in this conference will be considered for publication in one of the books of ATINER.

Given the ongoing Covid-19 related travel restrictions the conference was held in a hybrid format, being streamed online for those who could not join the conference venue in person. Unlike the conference events held in the past years, this conference has grown much more international. All the papers included in this volume passed a double-blind peer review successfully and were checked for their originality using the iThenticate software kindly provided by the University.

We are doing our best that our efforts become traditional. This is one more chance to read about legal topics from the region and beyond. This year we have a new partner, the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. As in the previous years, we tried to encompass most of neighbouring countries from the region. Additionally, we have extended our reach this year to include South Africa, Bangladesh, and Mexico. This expansion was in response to the eagerness of our non-European colleagues to be involved in our venture. Since the previous conference, RLR collection of papers has been indexed in DOAJ, a widely recognized platform among scientific researchers in our region. Inclusion in DOAJ demonstrates our commitment to the best practices in open access publishing. In the coming years, we hope to include the collection of papers in several other research databases. For the second year, we are partnering with HeinOnline Law Journal Library. As every year, I would like to express my gratitude to the whole organizing crew for making yet another issue of the collection of papers possible, at the highest standards of editing and publishing. Besides the authors, my gratitude goes to our reviewers, all thirty-five of them, who did exceptional work during the summer months, which is always particularly challenging time of the year to perform tasks of this kind. Starting from the next year's edition, we will try to focus thematically on several important topics in the current law and practice. Despite many challenges in further development, I hope you will remain loyal contributors and readers in the years to come, all having in mind the joint aim of further improving the quality and visibility of our work.

AIMS AND SCOPE: Journal of Legal Studies, a professional academic journal, published twice a year, commits itself to promoting the academic communication about laws of Romania and other countries, covers all sorts of researches on legal history, law rules, legal culture, legal theories, legal systems, questions, debate and discussion about law from the experts and scholars all over the world.
