In this paper, we are providing a home security for the theft by implementing smart surveillance system using RP and PIR sensor. Now-a-days, the IoT plays a major role in many fields by automating the application. The sensor used in this paper is PIR and temperature sensor. PIR is an electronic sensor that detects the motion of objects, by measuring the level of IR radiation. This principle is used to detect the stranger entering into the house. Temperature sensor and a camera are used to monitor and control the fire incident that takes place in a house. A sub motor setup with a solenoid value is used to spray chloroform. This action is done, which moves the stranger into unconscious state. The camera and PIR sensor are integrated in such a way that any movement in the room, switches ON the camera automatically. The house owner can view the live stream of motion that take place inside the house by the stranger. A mail and phone call services are included in the paper to alert the owner about the stranger action. The proposed work provides a smart home automation system for theft detection. Keywords-Raspberry Pi (RP); Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor; Internet of Things (IoT); Theft Detection System (TDS); General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO); Infrared(IR) rays

In this paper, a PIR based security system which saves the power consumption and the memory space of the recording system has been proposed. Passive Infrared Radiation (PIR) sensor detects the change in infrared radiation of warm blooded moving object in its detection range. According to the change in infrared radiation, there will be a change in the voltages generated which was amplified and used to turn ON the webcam and lighting system through relay. Software was developed and installed in the computer to capture and record the video when the webcam gets turned ON. When an intruder comes in the detection range of the PIR sensor, it actuates the lighting system and the webcam. The software detects the webcam connection; it will start to record and save the video. Once the intruder moves out of detection range of the sensor, the webcam and light gets turn OFF. The software repeats the process. Thus the saves power consumption and the memory space of the recording system as the lamp and webcam will only get turned ON when PIR sensors detects an object. Consequently the system starts recording only when the webcam is turned ON; hence saving memory space.

It is needless to say the importance of automation and security systems in the present era. In this paper we propose simple solutions for automation of electrical appliances and home security. We propose to control automatic turn on and turn off of electrical appliances like electric bulb, Air conditioner, electric fan etc.; with respect to the human motion detection rather than using manual switch on/off system. Another solution is controlling the Air conditioner temperature depending on the room temperature. We propose another function to provide security. In all these applications, the Arduino Uno processing unit is used, along with 3 different sensors. To detect the human presence PIR (Passive Infrared) Sensor is used, temperature sensor (LM35) is used to detect the room temperature and Ultrasonic (HC-SR04) sensor is used to detect the presence of objects. If there is any human movement it is detected by the PIR Sensor and the lights will turn on. If the room temperature is above the given temperature set, it is detected by the temperature sensor and the Air conditioner will turn on directly. If there is any object that is detected by the ultrasonic sensor it is detected by the sensor and a buzzer is set that starts emitting sound.
