The practice of child protection plays a key role in protecting every child, whether privileged or less privileged. Also, it plays a major role in the work of professionals such as human rights organizations, social workers, civic societies, and others dealing with children. The current paper proposes a novel child protection policy for Save & Nurture Child Care Foundation by Oluwadamilola Taiwo Oyebanji, who is the founder and president of Save & Nurture Child Care Foundation and the founder of SNCC Ambassador of Change and SNCC Kids Club. This paper considers that the proposed SNCC Child Protection Policy clearly directs ambassadors, staff, attendees of seminars on child protection, and other clients about expected behavior while working with protection-related issues in the office, home, and school context. Abuse, negligence, trafficking, and violence against children occur everywhere in societies and globally. This evil menace that negatively affects children aged 3–17 years old occurs in homes, families, schools, communities, caregiver homes, IDP camps, and other places where children should feel safe. Save & Nurture Child Care Foundation is supporting the economies of Nigeria and other countries where our organization is registered to guide and protect children from abuse, harm, trafficking, labor, domestic violence, and other forms of violence. Child protection policy is a statement of the commitment of schools to safeguard children from harm and foster their holistic development and welfare.

It is unarguably true that one of the social institutions from which children need protection is the media. This is because some media content violates and poses a harmful influence on their development. The media has been accused of being weak in protecting the rights of Nigerian children from the standpoint of the content it disseminates. This chapter focuses on the power of the media to advocate for the child's rights and shape the childhood process through its content. The study discovered that media outlets are not predisposed to reporting issues regarding child rights but rather place more attention on entertainment programmes that attract big sponsors. The study recommends that media content should focus on promoting child rights issues in Nigeria.

This study examines the community perspective of child protection in Agboyi, Lagos State, and its implications for social work practice. The study integrated established theoretical and empirical frameworks, including Anna Freud's psychoanalysis theory and Ludwig's Systems Theory. Employing a descriptive survey approach, the research focused on residents of the Agboyi area. Participants completed a questionnaire developed by the researchers, and descriptive statistics were utilized for data analysis. The findings reveal valuable insights into the community's view of child protection in Agboyi, Lagos State. Respondents displayed a noteworthy awareness of child protection and various forms of abuse prevalent in the community. However, the study highlighted challenges such as limited access to education and healthcare, cultural barriers to reporting abuse, and inadequate resources for effective child protection. The community's attitudes and perceptions significantly influence child protection efforts, impacting reporting, seeking help, and active participation in safeguarding children. Understanding the cultural context and beliefs of the community is imperative for designing culturally sensitive child protection strategies. Recommendations for enhancing child protection in Lagos State include targeted awareness campaigns, cultural sensitivity training for social workers, fostering community participation, improving reporting mechanisms, collaboration with local authorities, providing training and resources for professionals, regular program assessment, and implementing support programs for vulnerable families. These recommendations aim to strengthen child protection policies and services, ultimately safeguarding the well-being of children in the community.

This study aims to determine the experiences of school heads in the Division of Panabo City on implementing the Child Protection Policy (CPP). An in-Depth Interview (IDI) and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) were conducted to confirm and validate the responses of the school heads. Findings revealed that school heads faced challenges such as the lack of adequate financial and human resources and the negative dispositions of students. In addressing such challenges, it was noted that school heads strictly implemented the policy's provisions, sought the assistance of various stakeholders, and implemented strong communication efforts. It was then learned that an effective CPP implementation might only happen if school heads employ childcentered and policy-based decision making, establish positive relationships with stakeholders, and strengthen the school's communication mechanisms. Overall, it is recommended that school heads enjoin stakeholders to participate in the decisionmaking and implementation of the policy, build relationships with parents, and launch school initiatives following the law, CPP program, and DepEd vision, mission, and core values.

Terms like child abuse, child labour, street children, child trafficking, and child marriage underscore the vulnerability of children worldwide, and underpin the imperative of affording them holistic care. Such services must address the underlying factors that elevate their vulnerability as is consistent with the person-in-environment focus of social work. Given our historical commitments and top-notch values, the social work profession, more than any other, is most concerned with the well-being of children. Yet, not much is known of our professional action in Africa, a region near the pyramid's pinnacle in child rights violation. This article presents the findings of a qualitative study, involving five voluntary organizations, which explored the nature of social work services to vulnerable children. Drawing on a constructivist framework, semi-structured interviews were conducted to gather data in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria, and the results were then thematically analyzed. Finding...

All over the world, sustainability has become the focal point of developmental processes. Children are the tools of sustainability of human resources base. A developmental programme that does not take account of this fact is bound to fail, and any act or mission that is inimical to ensuring that children grow up into responsible and productive adults is a major stumbling block in sustainability of human resources as base of any nation and the world in general. Children are the most vulnerable members of the society and require protection from adults. The world 'rights' when applied to children are not rights properly so called but guiding principles for adult behavior towards achieving child protection and enthroning behavioural response for 'the best interest of the child'. This is construed from the fact that human rights instruments did not include age as a possible basis for discrimination. This paper adopts the analytical tool for the doctrinal method using authorities on the subject from the books, journal articles and internet sources. The identification and analysis of the anomalies shall elicit recommendations as to the way forward in Africa.
