The essay aims to analyze the connection between memory and oblivion that Bufalino investigates in his inventive work. Memory and its reverse, forgetfulness, are important themes of a writing that questions itself on the very reasons for its making. Bufalino’s narrative is populated with characters without a past, constructed by subtraction, through a chiaroscuro made up of full and above all voids, omissions, erasures. In the stories of the book L’uomo invaso e altre invenzioni the ghosts of oblivion and the emblematic images of erased memory, of the bleeding of memories affected by «wounds of passing time» coexist with references to the literary character of the “forgetful”, who suffers from poverty or from an excess of memories. The figure of the “forgetful”has a metaliterary value and becomes a double of the narrator.

The Vigliena fort is located in the district of San Giovanni a Teduccio, on the east coast of Naples. The small fort, relic in a difficult and changing landscape, represents an example of fortification from the early 18th century, and bears the memory of a significant historical moment for Naples, the Revolution of 1799. The contribution proposes a critical reflection on the protection and conservation projects inherent in the fortress from the late 19th century to the present day. Starting from the historical investigation and the comparison between the archival sources and the current state of conservation, the essay intends to offer a new piece to the history of knowledge and protection of the fort, a symbolic architecture for the history and identity of the city.

Giornata del Ricordo 2017 - Si presenta, da un lato, la vicenda istriano-fiumano-dalmata negli estremi drammatici che l’hanno contraddistinta, dall'altro , alcuni approfondimenti tematici, che portano elementi di riflessività e di apertura di comprensione e di significato.

Fragility of memory. Remembrance and identity in the «goriziano» border region Il «goriziano» (Goriška), the border area between Slovenia and Italy, has been (and still is) a place of contested memories, where different groups construct their identities on different, very often opposing interpretations of the region's past events. What for one side is a source for memory building, sinks for the other into oblivion, what one side celebrates, the other forgets. The territory was ravaged by acts of violence in both the First and Second World Wars, as well as in postwar years. Younger generations are reminded of the past chiefly through memorials, crypts and military burial grounds, silent witnesses to the atrocities that the twentieth century inflicted on the region. The monuments, (hi)stories and preserved narratives that construct the national heritage act on the 20 th century as ruptures of history, requiring all the collective groups to collaborate and accept different constructions of memory, interpretations of the past and our own complex story.

Il diritto all'oblio va oggi inteso come diritto di ottenere la rettifica, la contestualizzazione, l'aggiornamento e addirittura la deindicizzazione o la cancellazione dei propri dati personali presenti online, al fine di assicurare una rappresentazione corretta e attuale della propria identità personale. Questo scritto esamina il percorso argomentativo seguito dalla Corte europea dei diritti dell'uomo, dalla Corte di giustizia dell'Unione europea e dalla Corte di Cassazione per definire, nel corso di circa un decennio, i contorni di un diritto (o di uno strumento?) dalle molteplici sfaccettature e per questo assai sfuggente, che si trova in costante rapporto dialettico con il diritto collettivo a ricercare e ricevere informazioni. Fra incongruenze, ripensamenti e contraddizioni, la giurisprudenza sembra ultimamente aver trovato almeno alcuni elementi di convergenza nel bilanciamento fra pretese di tutela dei diritti della personalità e libertà di stampa.
