Abstract

The Judeo-Christian tradition considers fraternity as an original and universal condition which must be preserved because it is always in danger (Genesis, Chapter 4), and therefore constitutes an infinite task. This paper aims to investigate the nature of this task: are preserving and building fraternity simply private and supererogatory acts, or on the contrary, they are goods that politics and law must protect and promote? And if so, under what conditions? The thesis of this paper says that fraternity represents one of the presuppositions of the legal-political level.
