This paper presents a research that was carried out in autumn 2015 about the unconventional political demonstration of secondary education pupils. The sample consisted of 960 questionnaires that were collected from schools of central Macedonia. The purpose of this research was to examine the factors that influence pupils to occupy schools every autumn and to describe the profile of the pupils that act in this way. At first a brief introduction in the notion of political socialization is attempted putting forward the factors that determine the degree of pupils' politicization such as the family, the peer group, the school and the mass media. Secondly, a link between political socialization and political demonstration is attempted commenting on the habit of occupying schools every autumn. The results of the research show that the majority of students do not participate in such actions as well as a tendency of male pupils to participate more than the female. Also, pupils from vocational schools show a tendency to take part in occupations as well as in provocations in relation to pupils from gymnasia and normal high schools (lyceums). The main purpose of this article is to present the secondary education students' points of view regarding issues that are related to their everyday reality. A link to their political socialization is attempted. At the same time, the influence of independent variables is examined, like "sex", "urbanity", "performance" and "parents' occupation". The final conclusion shows that even though the majority of students do not express intense negative feelings about different origin, sex and religion, a tendency is at sight, mainly by male students. This conclusion is also compared with the findings of the survey " EUROPE ON THE EDGE " , regarding issues of difference and democratic values.

This paper analyzes the occupations carried out in schools in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, in 2016, and seeks to identify in them what are the significant variables for the construction of the process of political socialization of the students involved. The research took place in the cities of Pelotas and Rio Grande through the application of fifty-six semi-structured questionnaires in order to find biographical elements relevant to the research. The inquiry verified that the processes of political socialization contains strategic dimensions of student action, observed throughout the processes of interaction with different categories of the support network which are central to the maintenance of the occupations, as well as the identification of an antagonist responsible for the current situation of education, in this case, the state executive government. Furthermore, the constitution of political action is based on the search for autonomy and the presentation of a material and symbolic agenda, making it possible to conclude, therefore, that the occupation process is produced through a logic guided by self-organization, a feature that was demonstrated by the conduction of workshops and the cleaning of the locales. Besides that, during the occupation, and as a result of it, a process of appropriation of the students' capacity of agency was perceived, alongside a conscious understanding of the educational environment as being something public and generating a feeling of responsibility towards it.

This paper presents a research that was carried out in schools of central Macedonia in Greece about the degree of students' politicization. The concept of politicization was delineated using five different variables that describe students' way of thinking about different aspects of their reality. The findings show that peer group was considered to be the most important socializing factor which has a determining role in the political socialization of students. The degree of politicization is equivalent with the attendance in bars and the frequent watching of political programs on television.

ANTONIS PAPAOIKONOMOU, Teacher, Postdoc researcher Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Lecturer University of Macedonia. Hellas This paper presents a research that took place in schools in Central Macedonia in Greece about the levels of political apathy of secondary education pupils. At first in introduc-tion, the concept of po¬litical apathy is explained as a result of political socialization process. Different approaches are exem¬plified that create the theoretical framework on which the re-search is based. Political apathy is a phe¬nomenon that has caught the attention and it still does of many eminent social scientists. It is a patho¬logical symptom of a society which loses its co¬hesion. Political apathy is the situation in which the in¬dividuals of a society stop functioning as active political subjects, stop considering themselves capable of taking the responsibility of making important decisions that define their lives, while at the same time stop being creators of new principles and exponents of a different social reality. On the contrary, they follow a passive, introvert and indifferent attitude or according to Castoriadis they choose “quiet¬ness to freedom”. Then follows the presentation of the sample of pupils and the methodology of re¬search is illustrated. The results showed a low level of political apathy as the possibility of voting in the elections in which they are going to have the right to vote is concerned. Moreo¬ver, it seems that pupils have the desire to understand the political situation and that they have a point of view on what the government does. The fact that someone is able to realize af¬ter having interpreted the results of the statistical analysis is that there is a lack of political culture which can be understood by the lack of in¬formation about politics. What is highlighted is the necessity to be cultivated the faith that this situa¬tion is not static and it should not be perpetuated. At this point the teachers could play a decisive role by forming the adequate cli¬mate within school. Besides, one of the major critical points that unease pupils is that teachers themselves devalue the role of school councils and consider youths unable or immature to manage situations and to take decisions on matters that concern them. At the end, some thoughts are given about the lack of proper civic education in schools that could be able to improve pupils’ behavior in the forthcoming elections. Additionally, emphasis should be given to the reforming of curricula and to the position of subjects that contribute to the finest politi¬cal socialization of pupils. This tendency that was observed in this research was interwoven with the devaluation, on behalf of the pupils, of subjects of general education which contribute to the purpose above. The new efforts that were made last year with the introduction of Civics Education in the first grade of Lyceum involve many and hard to solve problems. At the end some thoughts are given about this subject. A unification of Economics, Political Science and Sociology is observed in the first and the second grade of the Ly¬ceum. This identification of this scientific fields leads to a thought disorientation, because the pupils is not given with the possibility to comprehend the diversity of sciences through their principles, pur¬poses, content and methodology. There is a great difference between a book which is written by a group of scientists and has as its objective the general history and methodology of each scientific field and a book which is an agglutination of some fragmented extracts of different sciences with different objectives. The most probable result will be to have pupils in absolute confusion.
